I've always found the support and assistance to be fantastic. Even if something goes wrong I am confident a resolution is being worked on. My account management in the last 9 months has be outstanding.

Pros

User friendly and easy to navigate for both desktop and mobile users. We have a lot of field based employees and they find it really easy to use.

Cons

MFA- this has been a real challenege. Particularly having to re-enter codes every time you log in. It is not usual to have to do this, usually a device is recognised for 24 hours. Having biometric login options would benefit mobile app users.

Having been with the system since the beginning there wasn't much support to begin with but features are being added all the time and being able to bring ideas to the table to help improve the produce is great. I think there is a lot more that could be done with the system but off to a good start

Pros

Very easy to use from an end user point of view. The functionality is the same whether on app or desktop.

Cons

When the system was bought back in 2022 there were no guides or instructions on how to use the system either from an end user or as an admin of the system. They are slowly getting round to fixing this now

Fantastic saving us time time and helps us day to day and with future planning. From onboarding a few years ago to now we’ve always had a great level and support and direct relationship with People First.

Pros

The teams are always happy to help out and are always looking to their customers in ways to future develop the platform. People First is a great HR, payroll, onboarding and learning system all in one place. The system allows us to manage and monitor performance across the business and easily identify skills gaps.

Cons

Some areas of the system can be difficult to find or click heavy. The learning area does have some room for improvement to make it a more user friendly environment.

Very good. Great contact between People First and us as a customer. Supported heavily during the initial on boarding of the portal.

Pros

Recruitment site, integration with Indeed makes advertising roles a lot easier and quicker. Applicant filtering easy and quick and straight forward. Client contact from experience team and Account Manger

Cons

New 2fa when using the mobile app. Login, change to authenticator for code, then entering Pin. Lots of processes.

Using People First for s Few months now, so far it’s been great, as mentioned above some features can be improved, but it still gets job done 😊

People First portal is easy to use. Like the news feed feature. Not sure if we can filter the news but if we can that will be great.

Still some features can be improved. It will be good to view the docs without downloading them. Setting up reminders.

Pros

The simplicity in viewing and reviewing payroll metrics in real time. It is simple and intuitive for colleagues to use. Seeing payslips in real time helps everyone know where they stand each month.

Cons

The pace of the system updates requires you to always be ready for new features and changes. This takes a bit more time than I would like to get used to.

Great! & we love it! The team at MGR have been so helpful throughout our journey. We really enjoyed about conference today and it was really helpful to hear other customer journeys.

Pros

The efficiency it gave not only the HR and payroll team but the whole organisation. It was very user friendly and we have been able to track performance a lot better.

Cons

Some of the functions which have been highlighted at the conference for example having to download cvs each time.

5 star experience and customer service. The platform I'd give 4.5 stars just for now. I would definitely recommend it

Pros

Very Seamless, its not yet perfect but you barely notice as the the team do a great job of assisting and constantly improving the system.

Cons

The notifications aren't always accurate but I think that's being worked on. Sometimes I've had old notifications that have already been actioned.

Overall, my experience with People First has been positive. It has streamlined several HR processes and improved efficiency. While there are areas for enhancement, particularly around customisation and advanced analytics, the system has proven to be a valuable tool for both HR and employees. With ongoing improvements, it has strong potential to become a comprehensive HR solution.

Pros

The user-friendly interface and intuitive navigation made it easy to manage core HR tasks such as leave management, performance reviews, and document storage. The self-service features for employees and managers reduced administrative workload and improved transparency. The reporting functions was also a helpful feature.

Cons

Other than occasional system lags, no issues are observed. The road map covers the shortcomings and we are awaiting the updates on pre-checks and DBS. It would have been great if we could customise the exporting reports' coloumns.

Transformational! It’s improved what we do and how it’s done which in turn is allowing us to strengthen what we do as an organisation for our staff and volunteers.

Pros

People First has allowed us to integrate all things HR, Payroll and Learning so that our teams have one system for all of their needs. The ability to personalise the system and make it your own helps to keep the content relevant and engaging. The system is fully configurable to our needs and both the back end of system and user interface are intuitive. The support offered by People First through their case management system ensures that issues are triaged and dealt with in a timely manner.

Cons

It would be good to have access to the test system throughout the use of the product to help us work on improvements to how we use the system and test more scenarios and situations out.

Pros

I like the Community page, it’s nice that everyone can post and get involved and I like the check in feature.

Cons

Sickness. I think the sickness should have a notes box like the way you book annual leave, so that you can add a comment either employee or HR team so we can understand more about the sickness. It would also be good if sickness automatically was ongoing until ended by either manager or HR because it’s easy to duplicate entries. For us we use the Bradford factor and if there is 2 entries for 2 dates but it should actually be 1 entry which spanned over 2 dates this would effect the Bradford factor score.

Overall, People First is intuitive and easy to navigate, making it a practical and efficient tool for both day-to-day HR and broader HR functions.

Pros

I find People First very effective and user-friendly. The reporting functionality offers valuable insights and the ability to post policies or key announcements with tracking to see who has accepted them is extremely useful for communication and compliance. The option to include external links adds flexibility as well as People First app.

Cons

One limitation is that the organisational chart cannot be downloaded in it's current format, which make it difficult to share outside of the system. Additionally, when we have a query or issue, it would be much more efficient to have the option to contact someone directly by phone or email, rather than being required to raise a case through the support portal.

Overall the move to People First has been extremely successful and has created numerous efficiencies. As an HR team, we love how easy easy it is to navigate the system, make changes etc and the feedback from our people is overwhelmingly positive too, they particularly enjoy being able to access the system whenever they like via the app. During the implementation process the support we had from our Account Manager and Project Manager during was excellent and at no point did we feel like we were just left to get on with it, we always knew there was help at hand if we needed it which helped enormously. As a result the process ran smoothly and we completed the project on time relatively stress free!

Pros

What I really love about People First is that it is more than just an HRIS, it’s a platform which allows us to bring all things people related together into one place. Our people can access everything they may need such as policies, the expenses system, our benefits & rewards platforms etc through the links we have set up in People First making everything easily accessible for our people. It has also created a sense of community as our people can share updates, recognise colleagues and celebrate achievements through the system, which as a geographically diverse business, is really valuable to us. From an HR team perspective, it has helped to streamline our process and created valuable efficiencies. Prior to People First we had a separate platform for managing performance and one to ones however we are now able to do all this through People First which not only has improved the end user experience but we have also achieved a significant cost saving as a result.

Cons

The only slight drawback I find with People First is the reports, whilst there are many, they are standardised and can not be manipulated which means that sometimes you have to pull several reports and amalgamate them to get the information you want.

People First is very easy to use and intuitive to navigate. It captures all the data I require in my role in Learning and Development.

Cons

Although it is very easy to navigate around People First, my main issue is not having access to reporting from within the application. In order to access reports, I have to also have access to sensitive data (such as salary information) which I don't need and should not be able to view in my role.

Our overall experience with People First has been very positive. The customer service is excellent - our account manager stays in regular contact and responses quickly to any queries. Projects such as our initial implementation and the transition to the new payroll system were well planned and executed on schedule.

Pros

I really appreciate how intuitive and easy the system is to use. We recently transitioned to their payroll system and it has significantly reduced the time we spend on administrative tasks. We also like the social media feel of the newsfeed - it's an effective way to keep everyone up to date across the business without having to send multiple emails.

Cons

There are frequent updates, which can make it hard to keep track of what's changed. I suspect there are useful features on the platform that we're not aware of.

Right from the consultants who worked with us to get the system how we wanted to look before go live to a year in, People First has transformed our business in terms of accessibility for our employees, and usable, real time data at the touch of our button. Our employees being able to see their payslip at any time of the month is such a benefit for them and the amount of corrections needed each month has drastically dropped since employees have been able to see real time data.

Pros

The implementation of People First within our business has enabled us to support our transparent culture and allow our employees to access all their personnel data, benefits and company news through one app based product. The software is intuitive, easy to use and for my teams easy to update and extract data, ensuring more efficient and effective outcomes for our business.

Cons

We've had a few teething problems with the payroll benefits section, but the benefit is when you raise a ticket you can see the defect through to resolution, it's a little frustrating but hasn't put me off the product.

We love it. The implementation experience was great and it has been easy to train the staff. We have had really good feedback from the staff.

Pros

It is so easy to use and navigate round the solution. The automation between HR and Payroll is fantastic. The time that this has saved is enormous. The fact that everyone can now check their pay before cut-off means that we have not had any payroll queries. It has given us a solution for being able to share company news to all the staff which is invaluable.

Cons

Just odd little software issues that sometimes arise but these are very quickly resolved.

offers great communication throughout, helping with day to day transactions, issues, internal concerns, i love being able to communicate with my crew physically and mobile, and these days, when we are all always on the go, makes communication much easier when necessary. can share anything i need to using People First, and their support staff is on point also, so i highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great human resource alternitive.

once you learn the software, its easy to use. confusing at first, but we overcame that quickly with the help of wonderful support

Cons

steep learning curve in the beginning.took us a couple weeks to get the hang of it, but we chose to take our time in doing so also, so it has no bearing on my rating, as im unsure how it would have been had we not took our time and just ran with it

People First is quickly facilitating HR admin and is ensuring that managers have the information they need to support their teams.

Pros

People First facilitates our ability to gather HR data that informs business decisions. Employees are able to undertake regular HR processes easily; and the focus on engagement and communication allows us to improve information exchange and celebrate achievements. In short, it's made my life as a standalone HR manager so much easier!

Cons

As an administrator of the system, tasks are not as useful as they could be since it is not possible to receive notifications. From an employee perspective, feedback suggests that navigating the tabs and pages is sometimes difficult.

Frustrating, basic product, limited capabilities of modern-day HR systems

Pros

There are some common features you would find on most HRIS products e.g. recognition, communities. I am unsure what I am missing from other reviews that appear on here.

Cons

\- Inability to customise lots of things- Sign up and onboarding flow is not user friendly- Onboarding flow is barely even a flow, it's just people assigning themselves a password...- General interface is not intuitive - You aren't able to store documents on people's profiles without having to create a 'Card' on their profile, which either means documents are disorganised or not in one place. Still using local file system as it's easier.- I have yet to find an automation I can use to reduce admin of my job- Consistent problems with employees signing up, signing up and then having to resign up at a later date- Customer support is limited, if you want their help, you either have to find it yourself or it gets 'credited' out of your allowance. Bizarre. - The data exports are really limiting and non-customisable. For example, if I want salary, job role, email address, and address in one sheet, I have to collate various different ones.

We've got some feature-led information below that will hopefully help: User Sign Up - The journey can depend on what you are using as an IDP. If you have your own, then it's not something we control. If you are using ours, I agree it is clunky and something we plan to address next year. Documents - Document attachments are available on most cards, this way you are attaching a document to the context and therefore simple to find. There is no need to create cards to store documents as standard document attachments are available. Exports - We are currently working on a tool that will be available later this year to allow you to manipulate and create your own reports. Really good. \[sensitive content hidden\], who help gone through all of build and training with us has been absolutely fantastic, could not have been better. He is so helpful and patient and always there to answer any questions we have. \[sensitive content hidden\] has gone through the whole build and upload with us in a simple, logical way, showing us how to do every step which has meant that going forward we will know how to make any changes etc. We have received lots of regular support and help where needed and the system is great and easy to use.

Pros

Ease of tracking employee changes and team changes. Integration has been really good and we have had a lot of support. For us, information linking to payroll has been key.

Cons

Only tiny things which we will add to the suggestions tracker, e.g the ability to only send weekly digest to certain people

Overall we are very happy with People First. Everyone at MHR is so helpful and so willing to listen to ideas, no matter what it is we ask for or suggest. Working with MHR feels like they are part of our business in some respects and that they have desire for us to be successful by using People First in the best way possible.

It has improved our internal communication, given us one central point for team information and allowed us to manage the whole recruitment process using one system

It's difficult to pick something that we like least. Some of the options regarding the management of the news feed could be improved

My overall experience had been great. I would recommend this product to any company as it is a well thought out software.

Pros

I love just about everything. I have been using this program for the last 5 years at my company. Doing my time sheets, taking time off, doing trainings and even checking my performance ratings are all simple. I never have to worry about not finding what I need because everything is easily accessible and labeled clearly. I can find everything in one place without having to use muliple software and have multiple usernames.

Cons

There isn’t much I can say about not liking this program as I’ve used it here for the last 5 years. Sometime the software goes down and takes awhile to come back up but it doesn’t happen much. Other than that I have no real complaints.
