We have used Telerik reporting in both the front end and back end of our software for reporting purposes. I have been using its standalone report designer to create reports for our software. It is very easy to learn and implement. Pros I love the standalone report designer of Telerik reporting which I have been using for the past 3 years to create reports for our software and implementing them as per our needs. I love the simplicity of designer. We can easily learn and implement it as per our requirements. Cons The only problem that I have faced so far is whenever I am stuck in any issue, I am unable to find the necessary tutorials and solutions as other products. I just have to rely on the documentation and the support team. Due to the support in various languages helps our developer's team to use it with different technology. Initially developer team faces some issues in initial installation but now they are Champ in it. Pros 1\. It's very simple and easy to use. 2. Allows to create, view and export customized formatted reports 3. Reports can be viewed in web, desktop and cloud apps. 4.Gather relevant information from any data source with the help of various connectors. 5. Helps to filter data and can be formatted. Cons 1\. Documentation needs an improvement. 2. Style is little bit messy and sometimes feels complicated 3. Update at your own risk, as if we upgrade version sometimes required changes in code too. 4. October 2, 2024 3.0 Frustrating Pros Not sure Cons Incredibly frustrating to author and maintain a report. So many moving pieces, so many bugs in the designer, so many limitations. We are investigating other options. It's unfathomable that more than five years on, there is STILL not a Visual Studio designer for sdk and .NET Core. How could this have been ignored for so long? It's simple to use UI (For the Designer) and ease to incorporate into our software solutions made it quite the necessity for me. Overall though I greatly praise the vast selection of Data Connectors, as mentioned this was the focal point to me and Telerik Reporting delivered on that. Pros The ability to completely customize our reports to our varying needs was much the highlight for me. The simple and easy-to-use the controls are also a highlight point. But, the most important aspect for me was it's Data Connector options, as I had various data sources for our various solutions and the large support range made incorporating those sources simple. Cons When first using Telerik Reporting, the actual creation of the reports was simple but how you incorporated the Report into your software solution became a bit tricky at first (Keep in mind, this relates to using the Designer to create the Reports and incorporating those reports into our solution). You can chop this up to issues of a first time user though, since it was only an issue on first implementation. Alternatives considered [Microsoft Power BI](https://www.capterra.com/p/176586/Power-BI/) Reason for choosing Telerik Reporting Since we made extensive use of Kendo UI, it seemed simpler to stick with the same provider whose products integrate with each other easily already. Switched from [DevExpress Reports](https://www.capterra.com/p/181493/DevExpress-Reporting/) Telerik Reporting was simpler to use and incorporate into our solutions, with relatively good documentation available. Add in the Scheduling options, as well as the Data Export formats and you have yourself one nice bundled solution. Review Source PH Peter H. Pros Wide range of resources and ease connections to data sources. Cons Limited capacity for HTML content, not allowing images or tables within texts (htmlTextBox). It should provide a native robust, flexible, and complete integrated component for creating filters for data selection by users, like Telerik Filter in ASP.NET Ajax UI. My company has an Enterprise license and when I post a question or problem they get back to me very quickly, usually in one day. Pros The Telerik components have about every web UI feature you can imagine: grids, calendars, reports, etc. The support for CRUD operations with built-in Ajax is great. Cons It takes a while to learn. They have great demos and examples but you do need good programming skills to get it to do what you want. Pros Integration in the backend code, the various data connector and the overall logic and ease of use of the standalone designer.Report parameters and binding are super usefull powerfull and easy to use.Documentation is good and community very active.the angular client is easy to integrate and everything is customisable.You can feel it has been made by developpers for developpers. Cons Setting up charts was hard and documentation a bit lacking, but the feature are there. Reason for choosing Telerik Reporting It is much cheaper, probably less powefull and need a bit more work to look as sexy out of the box, but it seems to cover all my need.
