Vault Reviews
"Industry standard vault for secrets storage and management"
Overall: My experience are both setup a Vault solution and storage and consume between system and user, intragrate with clouds for OIDC SSO.
Pros: Has both API, terminal and UI acces, is easy to setup in every cloud as product and on-premise, license is still admisible and is easy to build and integrate with products and DevOps tools.
Cons: Its backup can ba a bit simpler, it think is overcomplicated.
"A Good tool to secure the sensitive data"
Overall: Since applications have credentials, certificates etc that are spread across the organizations and since these are in plain text which makes an application vulnerable to attacks. For this purpose, HashiCorp Vault is used in order to secure the credentials and other sensitive data. It can be used to authenticate a user either via passwords or some dynamic configuration that would generate the tokens which are temporary and these tokens can be used to access the resource.
Pros: Easy to use and configureProvides encryption for storing Sensitive data like passwords, certificates etc
Cons: No dislikes as such since it is powerful tool to keep the sensitive data
"Very useful for data management"
Pros: Vault allows users to monitor and control their work.
Cons: Nothing special to mention. Overall it is a great software
"hashicorp vault - protect your secrets"
Overall: my overall experience is very good till now.
Pros: i like the secrets replication feature it has with cloud providers ensuring security best practices.
Cons: i don’t like the learning curve it takes to become habituated to using vault for devops engineers.
"Great addon for secrets management in pipelines. "
Pros: I use vault for secrets management Jenkins pipelines which was really easy to setup and test retrieval with the vault plugin. We can separate secrets in different directories and add RBAC so admins can only read
Cons: Will like to have a Hashicorp plugin in the Azure DevOps marketplace for easier integration.
