Helps in execution of SQL task/SP creates so much ease of use and transform and load the data into target server tables without creating any issue. But I wish more support was Available for trouble shooting the issues because that may help me save effort and time. Pros SSIS tool is a very user friendly and efficient for ETL Developer. I have been using it for a year now and I felt the setup was pretty straight forward on Visual studio IDE and no prior perquisites needed. SSIS tools always helps me to fetch the data with all sort of transformation from various servers and load it into database to bring it to users dashboards Cons There are sometimes the tool takes huge time to load the initial package load itself. But in general the tool is intuitive to use. Pros I was able to retrieve bulk sets of entities from the remote api/system using odbc sql Cons keeping the product up to date with the api it supports was not done in a timely basis. there were several api features that were not supported. I develop all sort of transformation to fetch the data from different servers and dump the data into different forms such as files, xmls etc. Pros SSIS is the most user friendly etl tool present in the market. You can do anything with it. All sort of transformation and even use c sharp. Has all the usual transformation and there is nothing that you cannot done. Also its very powerfull and can process a large amount of data. Business Partner Medical Devices Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Devart ODBC MySql Connector" July 24, 2020 5.0 Very good, we had a couple of issues with Alteryx not interpreting the data types from the connector. But after chatting with the customer service team they quickly put out a patch for us to trial before purchasing the software. Pros We were trying to connect to a mysql database hidden behind an SSH server, currently something that the native mySql ODBC software did not enable. Once set up it was very straight forward to use and integrated well with our current systems. Cons The documentation for setting up the connector was not the most straightforward, and initially we had to contact the customer support team to get it working. Reason for choosing SSIS Data Flow Components There currently isn't an alternative product, but given how smoothly it currently works and the price point it is at, I wouldn't consider switching. Pros extremely fast data transfer capability. Execute SQL task adds so much ease of use when dealing with relational databases. Cons send mail task started to fail due to email server deprecation (Decommissioning of SMTP) and the support available was too difficult to get. so I had to disable this task altogether. Reason for choosing SSIS Data Flow Components Because we had to build a database for years of data and at that time Power Bi's Power Query did not offer dataflows. secondly, Power Bi premium capacity license was far more expensive.
