The emails that were sent by the company were not annoying, they were helpful and gave me ideas to help start my coding by giving me sample codes to use. Cons I can't say that there isn't anything I dislike about the software. This is my first time doing qualitative analysis and I had a choice between this and a program provided by my school. This software is very user friendly, and meanwhile very effective for my qualitative data analysis. 3. At first I was hesitating because all of my interview data was in another language instead of English. Well, it works perfectly for other languages! Highly recommend! 4. Since I use the software to analyze my data directly through the website, I don't need worry about losing my progress when my computer breaks down. It happened several times during my dissertation, but the work on was always perfectly saved. Cons I think something that can be improved is that it would be even better if the arrangement, categorizing, and grouping of codes can be done more easily. I used a mindmap app to do this because I can casually drag and group any codes at any place on the screen as I wish, but I also have to constantly go back to to refer to the content of the codes. If it can be done directly in Delve, then that would be great. I got help from the staff saying that I can drag and group the codes on the right side. True, but you know, I had so so much data and so many codes, so it was very difficult to do this on the right side because I had to scroll up and down all the time to find the code category. That's why I chose a mindmap app which allows me to put the codes anywhere on the screen. Pros I had 19 interviews that needed to be coded and then pulled into a qualitative analysis in a timely manner and I was completely new to the process. couldn't have been more intuitive to use. The resources offered enabled me to move step by step to achieve a very clean, qualitative analysis which was my end goal. My results were heralded by the person who had requested it. Cons When coding, I was unable to easily highlight the excerpts in their entirety. I would have to try a few times to get the entire excerpt. April 24, 2024 5.0 was my first software for analyzing qualitative data from transcripts of field research interviews, and I am glad I chose it while on a tight schedule to complete my dissertation. The in-depth training course provided by Delve enabled me to quickly apply various coding options and find themes in support of grounded analysis. Text editing controls were intuitive enough, but watching the instructional videos made a difference in learning various coding options. The ability to export codes in PDF, DOCX, and CSV formats for correlation and code frequency analysis was a deal-maker for me. The fact that I didn't need to install any software was a huge plus. Some programs offer graphic data representation, but I didn't need that option. Delve's various options were sufficient for my simple use case with coding and analyzing the transcripts. But what truly stood out was the Delve team's quick and helpful response whenever I had a question, making me feel supported and valued. This did not happen at all, and I was refunded, and offered student discount for when I do my dissertation, when I look forward to using it again. NVIVO and Atlas.ti were programs I used in the past but the required installation and are filled with features that I simply don't need. Delve is perfect for me. It gives me the feel of coding by hand but digitally. I can pick up where I left off from any computer wherever I am. It is easy to use and super intuitive. I feel like the developers knew the art of coding and wanted to make a program that does what it has to do without nonsense. I have recommended it to a bunch of my friends and will continue to do so!
