Assistant Professor Education Management Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Quick start, intuitive, & inexpensive" March 10, 2021 5.0 I used this for qualitative research, mainly coding and analysis of interview data. I have already recommended Delve to colleagues and will definitely continue to use it in the future. Pros I loved how easy it was for me to get started coding my interview transcripts right away. I didn't have to waste any time figuring out a program because everything on Delve is so straightforward and intuitive. The education pricing is so inexpensive that Delve would be highly appropriate for students just learning how to code as well as seasoned researchers. It's also flexible enough that you only pay for the time that you're using the program - in my case I used it all the time at first, then paused my membership and reopened it when I had new data and analysis to do. Cons The only thing I can think of is maybe adding the ability to download a full transcript with the codes marked - I may have just missed this if it's a current feature. The price is very reasonable as it has an offer for Academia. The webinars and continue customer support were highly supportive for a new researcher. It was very easy for me to create themes, subthemes and completely I could do everything as I expected. I love its drag and drop function as well as smooth coding functions. Hence I saved a tons of hours learning a complex software and using it. Also price is very competitive for student version. Also, customer service is excellent. Most of the time I never needed to wait longer than a few hours and max a day. I am happy that I was able to complete my project within a desired time frame. Thank you Delve. Pros Very simple and doesn't require any long training hours. Just go through 30 min long quick short videos and you are all set. Cons color coding is not available. compatibility with other qual software in terms of importing and exporting is not there. It is a web application, so continuously require internet. It was very intuitive to use, with very quick setup. We were able to easily collaborate and facilitate our thematic analysis process without a steep learning curve and at a very reasonable price. The help guides and learning center were also great resources for those on the team unfamiliar with qualitative coding. July 14, 2021 5.0 Pros Delve is a great tool for qualitative market researchers who have numerous transcripts to wade through. Being able to tag and categorize quotes makes writing a report so much quicker and easier. It might take a little longer to read through each and every transcripts, but the time you save on the back end makes it well worthwhile. I also really like the ability to add categories 'on the fly' while I'm reading and the ability to export out the quotes by category/participants into Excel makes the tool even better. Cons The only downside to the tool is getting the initial set up of categories done - but that's probably more of a process issue than a tool issue. The other challenge I've run into is deleting categories/quotes when I don't want to use them and sometimes it's hard to grab only part of a sentence/paragraph. Review Source GS Gina S. It works easily when collaborating with others on a qualitative project. When coding I like the flexibility of this software to rename, regroup as you conduct your analysis. There is an extensive resource library for questions/how to's but also highly responsive customer service if you need help. The Delve team is open to feedback and continuously improving the software. Cons I would like to be able to access the platform for a past project without renewing my subscription as I usually pause it upon project completion. Delve does allow you to download your codes but if a client has a question/request it would be great to be able to search the transcripts on the platform. This is a really a minor issue. I was so thrilled that Delve showed up when I searched for "coding for researching" on YouTube. Delve is really a well thought out software, and I am extremely happy with all the features I used. I will give it a six stars if I could. I highly recommend this software for coding qualitative research. Pros All the features were well thought out, easy to use, and very intuitive. The customer support is superb!  \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] from Delve was so responsive, I was extremely pleased with the level of services I received. Also, I love her demo videos, they were so helpful. Delve is the best because of the \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] . Cons The only problem I experienced was merge codes. We absolutely depend on it. Pros Delve is incredibly easy to use, which makes it great for projects with multiple people working them—there's no learning curve or lengthy onboarding process. It's simple to code a couple of levels of transcript data and get it to a place where you can analyze and create meaning. Unlike other similar tools, Delve isn't super feature-rich, but this is a strength! Delve provides plug-and-play transcript coding. Couldn't be simpler. I'm also excited to see where the tool goes in the future. It's a newcomer to the QDA world and the team is very responsive to user needs and feedback. Cons No much. As with all new tools, it could use some usability improvements. It's improving all the time though, so I'm confident that the small quirks will get ironed out!
