### "Delve doesnt overcomplicate matters. "

October 17, 2025

5.0

Delve’s simplicity and ease of use allowed me to concentrate fully on the analytical process. Unlike other tools that can feel overwhelming or overly technical, Delve supported my workflow without interrupting it. I appreciated being able to engage deeply with the content, knowing the platform was facilitating, not complicating my thinking. Overall, Delve proved to be a straightforward yet powerful tool for qualitative research. I would highly recommend it to researchers working with complex, culturally rich data who value clarity, usability, and a well-designed coding environment. I have shared my experience and shown others, both here at Reading University and at other universities where I have presented at conferences, so they can consider Delve for themselves.

Pros

I used Delve to analyse twelve one-hour interviews with heritage school leaders from a range of cultural backgrounds. The data was rich, nuanced, and deeply contextual, requiring a tool that could support thoughtful, systematic analysis without adding technical complexity. Delve delivered exactly that. One of the most impressive aspects of Delve is its intuitive coding interface. The visual layout made it easy to organise and refine codes, helping me stay focused on the data rather than the mechanics of the software. This was particularly valuable when working with detailed qualitative material from heritage language schools, where clarity and structure are essential.

Cons

At the time, I found separating the codes into themes and subthemes just a little time-consuming. I reverted to doing this by hand. This was because I had over 300 codes and over 2000 snippets, which was exceptionally rich data.

### "Loving Delve! A real life saver in coding for a student doing research - a few minor tweaks could make it amazing!"

June 18, 2025

4.0

Overall, Delve has been a life saver and a great thing for someone with dyslexia to help organise my coding. I am so thankful and will use it for future projects too. I appreciate the bot who can answer most questions but liked speaking to \[sensitive content hidden\] as a human who was very helpful today.

Pros

I love the way it helps me to map out codes for my research and create codes and nest them into sections. You can search by keyword, and there are lots of helpful features like looking at snippets and filtering systems. The tutorials and mini-course on analysing data is great and helped me a lot. It has helped me a lot as a dyslexic learner to plan and organise my analysis. I will definitely recommend. Also to add, the customer service team are very responsive and helpful. Thanks Delve

Cons

I would have liked an easy way to view all codes and move them around to rearrange them and add nesting, not only via the list, as you have to scroll up and down with the mouse and it is hard to find things. This was time-consuming. Also, it would be good to be able to move codes and nest items when you have searched by name. Currently, you cannot move anything when you are applying a filter. Last thing on my list would be to export codes and subcodes into a list (without the snippets) so you can see themes for planning the write up - even better if it made a mind map for you (but that might be wishful thinking)

### "Satisfied user "

August 29, 2025

5.0

Pros

I used Delve software to support my thematic analysis for my masters thesis. I’ve never had to use a software for my qualitative analysis - so it’s interesting and yet challenging to use an entirely new software as a first timer. Its user-friendly interface made coding and refining themes straightforward, while the export options (to Word, Excel, and PDF) allowed me to integrate outputs directly into the dissertation. It also allowed me to import my transcripts directly as words instead of typing them out which would have discouraged me from using it. Delve also offers collaborative features for sharing projects with peers or supervisors, which, although not required in this study and I didn’t use it, could benefit larger team-based research. I selected Delve over more complex packages because it provided the core functionality I required in a simpler and more accessible format. Also, because my supervisor advised me against using such. Lastly, the emails from customer Support helped me learn some tips about using the software which I might not have figured out myself, such as merging codes under a theme.

Cons

I can’t fault anything about Delve. I only feel it is quite on the high end price-wise. And this might discourage price sensitive students (which they are usually are) from using it.

### "Easy to use and worth it."

October 20, 2025

5.0

Outstanding, helpful, productive, easy to use, stress reduction... I could go on. I approached this phase in my dissertation with much anxiety over not knowing what or how to do the analysis and this platform removed that concern after the second day of using it. My professor was impressed with the level of detail I achieved in my analysis and commented on the connections I made within my data.

Pros

This platform was very easy to navigate and get started on my project the same day I signed up. I liked having to create my own codes because it enabled me to become more familiar with my data (interview transcripts) and recognize connections within the information I may have missed if automatic or AI coding was used. I believe this saved me a lot of time in this area of my dissertation.

Cons

I can't think of anything I would change or that I disliked about the entire experience. This platform greatly reduces my stress level regarding data analysis.

### "Delvetool helped me to quickly cross my dissertation finish line"

May 14, 2025

5.0

I had a great experience with Delve. I searched on other QDAS and Delve seemed to be the most comprehensive for my use. I was a bit apprehensive at first because I was not familiar with using QDAS technology but quickly became reliant on it's usage. I would highly recommend this tool for qualitative research.

Pros

Delve helped me to quickly highlight specific sentences, quotes, or phrases to be able to code them. It also helped me to organize my codes into themes and reorganize them later when I needed to move specific codes to another theme. I was also able to do quick searches for themes I needed and be able to quickly search for specific areas of my paper to write about the topics at hand. Lastly, when doing a search in my notes area, it found all my specific codes or possible themes, that I could quickly go to, and be able to quickly cut and paste into my dissertation. It helped me stay organized and continue my writing process without hiccups.

Cons

I had to use a google spreadsheet to transfer all my codes and from Delve so I could holistically see my codes and possible themes. On the google spreadsheet, I was then able to combine/collapse themes to get a fuller picture of my writing.

### "Delve - Coding Made Simple"

April 30, 2025

5.0

Excellent; I reviewed a number of CAQDAS platforms - NVivo, Quirkos, Dedoose, MaxQDA - each has their strengths mostly reflected by what type of data you with which you are working, but Delve seemed the most straightforward and intuitive. Customer service was outstanding.

Pros

Delve provides an easy interface with straightforward and intuitive operations for uploading a formatted transcript, creating codes/subcodes, and assigning snippets to codes. There is an optional AI engine, an ability to export files including a code book and the coding document. You can collaborate on files with someone who is also a registered user. It has an excellent price point for a student with a valid .edu email address; first two weeks free, $18/month after or $200 for the year - typically $600/yr for an individual investigator. There are a number of very useful tutorials that made navigating the platform easy even for a Luddite like me; more importantly, it allows one to focus on the coding rather than how to present the work.

Cons

The online platform provides a rich visual experience; the exported files lack the visual appeal of the online experience.

### "Delve Is a Game Changer for Organizing and Analyzing Insights"

May 12, 2025

5.0

My experience was excellent. Delve made qualitative analysis feel manageable and even enjoyable. I plan to use it in my consulting work, especially for strategic planning, where I often need to synthesize insights from interviews or group discussions. It’s a tool that adds real value to both research and practice.

Pros

Delve made it incredibly easy to group and categorize thoughts, themes, and ideas. The platform is intuitive and user-friendly, which allowed me to quickly identify patterns and connections in my data. The training videos were a standout feature. They were clear, easy to follow, and helped me learn both the product and the broader process of coding qualitative data. I came away with new skills and a deeper understanding of analysis.

Cons

Honestly, I just wish I had discovered it earlier. If I had known how powerful it is for organizing themes, I would have used Delve during my literature review process.

### "The best QDA platform by a mile"

August 1, 2025

5.0

At the start of my research, I experimented with several QDA tools, including NVIVO and ATLAS.ti. However, I discovered that these tools were extremely complex and overloaded with features. Delve is a perfect tool for thorough qualitative analysis, with no unnecessary features, just exactly what you needed. The AI chat was very handy as well, as it allows those snippets that would be otherwise forgotten to be included in the write-up.

Pros

The tool has an excellent user interface, an easy-to-use layout, and AI chat options that work well, and overall, it is an excellent tool.

Cons

It would have been useful if multiple statements could be coded at the same time. Instead of doing it individually.

### "Great Product"

November 10, 2025

5.0

Delve was a great tool for me and had a major positive impact in helping me complete my dissertation. I will definitely use Delve again for any future projects.

Pros

Delve was very easy to use and made completing my dissertation very straightforward. I looked at several similar products but Delve was the most user friendly and best value for the money. The ability to drag my codes around to organize them in various ways was very helpful. The "How to" videos also made the process simple and the coding tutorial was honestly better than the textbook sources I used.

Cons

I didn't really have any cons with Delve. I guess if there was anything that I would have liked to have is the ability to print my work organized by codes/categories with the extracted quotes included.

### "Delve Is Great for Coding Interviews"

August 11, 2025

4.0

I like Delve a lot, and now that I secured my first academic journal research article, I may be back soon!

Pros

The data analysis was my favorite part of using Delve. Delve helped conduct qualitative research. I used it to code and find connections between 14, 60-minute interviews with experts. I used the findings for my MS thesis and later to build storytelling around each.

Cons

I choose not to connect applications with SSO, for security purposes. It would be best to keep any offerings optional for users. The design of the platform could have better UX and by integrating AI it can improve its social and communications potential to help users maximize their findings by helping to develop content with it.

### "Simple and Intuitive"

July 9, 2025

5.0

The simplicity of Delve was what made it stand out to me. No unnecessary bells and whistles, just does the job!

Pros

Delve is very intuitive and easy to use. After setting up my coding and adding the descriptions I discovered the apply codes using the AI feature. I'm doing an online course and run a business so this has saved me an immense amount of time. The AI chat feature is also really helpful for gaining insights for my results and discussion section in my assigment. I would recommend!

Cons

There's nothing to not like! I honestly can't think of anything I don't like about Delve, it achieved everything I wanted to in record time.

### "Very pleased MA student"

July 21, 2025

4.0

excellent, it saved me loads of time and if I had to do the research again i would have increased my candidate numbers as i could have handled so much more data.

Pros

Ease of use, I thought there would be lots of technical things to learn, but i was up and creating codes in no time!

Cons

I copied transcripts of interviews from word documents and found some of the punctation - capital letters and speech marks, as well as formatting - got lost. an interface problem i guess, but frustrating.

### "Useful and handy"

December 4, 2025

5.0

I have used this software for two projects, and it eases the tasks because it is not as hectic as other qualitative softwares.

Pros

The site is easy to use, and it is accompanied by how-to videos guiding the researchers on the coding process. It has a collaborative function which enables online, remote team work. Whenever you need help, you can click the customer support buttom to chat, and they answer quite rapidly. The data is secure in the site. The price is reasonable when it comes to having an institutional account. It is a lot easier to approach qualitative data because one can manage to categorize in a smooth way.

Cons

Overall, I liked it a lot. I wish it were a far more cheaper, so more people could benefit from its use.

### "Codes, Tigers, and Bears; Oh My"

April 12, 2025

5.0

I used Delve for my dissertation. Already overwhelmed with the process, this was one of the most straightforward (and fun parts). The way one can create, combine, and delete codes allows for some play. Even when exploring the data, the work to transform my extensive notes into a narrative was minimal.

Pros

Delve had a staff that was very responsive to questions and an intuitive platform. Even if you do not use the product, the coding modules are a great refresher on analyzing your data.

Cons

No notes. The platform was intuitive enough for a person like me that does not use tech. However, how I could import transcripts, create notes, and multiple codes for the same data was very useful.

### "Remarkable Research Tool - Delve Made Data Dive So Much Easier"

March 18, 2025

5.0

Delve was very responsive when you asked for help. The videos and tutorials extremely helpful. I found it easy to navigate and to learn as a novice researcher. It made analyzing roughy 50 transcripts from focus panels and stakeholders so much easier. It allowed you to look at data on so many ways. It definitely improved the overall experience and deepened my analysis.

Pros

It was user friendly for a novice researcher. It was reasonable price for the quality of the product.

Cons

Sometimes I would get a hypothetical response and it did not use the transcript. It would confuse stakeholders within focus groups if you are not very clear in making sure the Google Transcripts you import are all very clearly labeled and very clear in your coding. A skill I got better at. This was my very first project.

### "Coding in one place"

September 21, 2025

4.0

It made my analysis of the data easier than I expected. Also the tutorials were spot on if a person needed to decide what type of coding to follow the tutorials guides them.

Pros

It was with ease that I could select the codes that was relevant to my research question. I was able to link it all in one place.

Cons

It did not allow me to go more than three steps of coding and at a point I thought that could have made my coding a bit more robust

### "User-Friendly!"

June 25, 2025

5.0

I love using Delve! I am not a tech wizard, so it is easy for a beginner to use. I also think the price is excellent!

Pros

This was my first experience analyzing data for an applied research study. It was so easy to upload transcripts and organize information. It was easy to add or delete codes. I also found the videos to be very helpful.

Cons

I thought that Delve could help with identifying codes, but it doesn't do that. I am still learning, so I know that as I continue to watch the tutorials, I will learn more!

### "Delve, a great tool for thematic analysis."

January 22, 2025

5.0

It was a really useful tool for thematic analysis. I will be using it again in future projects.

Pros

It was easy to use and the video tutorials were excellent. Because the pricing is monthly I could pay for the time I needed without being locked in for longer than required. As a beginning researcher it supported me in the process of thematic analysis without automating to the extent that I did not loose control of decision making about the analysis. I was able to use multiple transcripts within the analysis and look at them individually, in groups or altogether to consider different patterns.

Cons

I would have liked to have been able to reduce the amount of examples given for codes before exporting the code book. If this was possible I could not see a way of doing it.

My overall experience with delve was great. I was new to qualitative analysis, but delve made the whole process so easy for me

Pros

The artificial-intelligence assistance in analyzing codes, helping to generate themes and writing reports. I also liked that I could collaborate in real-time with other researchers in my group

Cons

### "Use Delve for your qualitative analysis!!!"

September 20, 2024

5.0

Delve was the perfect tool that I found at exactly the right time. It would have taken me much longer to finish my dissertation without Delve! Everyone conducting qualitative analysis should use it. I am a professor, and I recently gave a presentation to a group of professors that regularly do qualitative research, and they all agreed that Delve looks like a great platform that will help them in the future!

Pros

Delve was a Godsend when I needed it most! I was working on my Doctor of Business Administration in Finance, and part of my requirements was that I had to conduct some qualitative analysis in addition to some quantitative analysis for my dissertation. Delve was extremely helpful in helping me learn to quickly and efficiently conduct qualitative analysis of my transcripts using their platform. I could not recommend this anymore than I already am!

Cons

You can only do up to three levels of coding on the qualitative data. I remember wanting to do more than three levels, but I couldn't and maybe that is by design.

Pros

The programme had a good user-friendly interface which was easy and pleasant to navigate around. Importing files was not an issue. I also liked the flexible subscription-based model.

Cons

Not much bad to say here, but the exporting the final analysis in Excel wasn't done in the best way, and also including more export formats maybe could be nicer.
