### "Easy to access and use!"

October 26, 2020

5.0

I started using Casetext as a supplement to our more expensive research platforms. It has become my go-to first step in many research questions, and is sometimes the only resource I need depending on the inquiry. I would highly recommend Casetext to my colleagues.

Pros

The interface is intuitive and allows for efficient and effective research and expanded control over the authorities. The best thing about Casetext is how quick it is to access and the price for what you are getting.

Cons

It doesn't yet have access to secondary sources, but it is a trade off.

### "Great Legal Research Tool"

November 2, 2020

5.0

Great product! Has been easy to use on many occasions since I purchased it.

Pros

It is very easy to navigate. It has everything about the case - whether it's been overturned; is still good law; how many other cases have cited it, etc., right when you pull the case up. It's easy to print the case off. It's easy to figure out how to cite the case. It is very reasonably priced. They have people available to help you when you need it.

Cons

Sometimes it's a bit difficult to get the program to follow what my research parameters are.

### "Very Intermitten Use"

October 20, 2020

5.0

So far the research I have done has helped me get up to date in the legal research system. I will increase the use of the software shortly and I can always count on the prompt and excellent advise from the Chat.

Pros

Help available through the Chat service. The ease of use and the cost. It is affordable monthly even thought I might not use for several months.

Cons

nothing yet, I usually use in winter unless there is a immediate need. We farm, race horses and do therapeutic riding so the summer is usually very busy.

### "Casetext Review"

October 29, 2020

5.0

Pros

Casetext is very intuitive and easy to use, and the search results are usually relevant and fast.

Cons

I'd like to be able to use for transactional law -- for example being able to see case law related to specific contract provisions to make sure I'm using the best language.

Reason for choosing Casetext

Combination of price and ease of use.

### "Useful Resaearch Tool"

November 4, 2020

5.0

Pros

I use Casetext primarily for legal research and preparation of pleadings and legal briefs. Casetext directs the user to useful and current on-point legal authorities and precedent quickly and easily, without requiring the user to sort through numerous possibly applicable authorities and sources.

Cons

I don't have any suggested changes or inprovements for Casetext to the extent I use it.

### "Affordable Alternative for Legal Research"

October 26, 2020

4.0

Generally, we only need to conduct legal case law research about once a month and casetext suits our needs. It lacks some of the bells ans whistles that other services offer, but has most of what any lawyer would need. For the price and for our needs it works.

Pros

Price. Our prior online legal case law research software was more than twice the price and you had to sing up for a yearly contract. Casetext is monthly subscription at a more affordable rate. All states and all federal are included in the subscription, plus some secondary sources. I have not used casetext's CARA A.I. so I cannot comment on that feature.

Cons

The free from or long tail keyword search should be better.

Switched to casetext from Westlaw because of the price and it is only month to month rather than a long term contract.

### "Great Product"

October 20, 2020

Way better than Fastcase, my previous legal research software.

Pros

Access To All Federal and State Case Law, Statutes

Cons

No complaints about the software except it would be helpful to have the search commands more prominently displayed.

### "Just what I needed"

October 29, 2020

5.0

Pros

Easy to learn. Excellent support. A good resource for someone like me who has only occasional use for legal research. Not to say that it wouldn't help any litigator--I am retired but manage some litigation and like do my own research to back up what I get from law firms.

Cons

Access to law review articles is necessary.

### "The single best research tool available."

October 30, 2020

5.0

Using Casetext gives me a sense of confidence that I have never experienced with any other electronic search tool.

Pros

Parallel Search, just being implemented, is the most efficient research tool I have ever seen. The word POWERFUL is the first word that comes to mind for me to describe it.

Cons

I have not experienced any significant problems that weren't self-generated.

### "Casetext for the twenty first and twenty second century"

October 20, 2020

5.0

I enjoy casetext. The investment is well worth it.

Pros

I liked most the wealth of information available. From new information to information of the past. I enjoyed the combination of state and federal information when not searching a specific jurisdiction. Unlike other software that tend to provided more jurisdiction specific information when doing general search.

Cons

I did not like the using natural language feature. It was very indirect and I had to always return to key word search.

### "Casetext allows for greater flexibility"

October 26, 2020

5.0

Casetext was a lifesaver during very stressful and difficult times of informational asymmetry.

Pros

This software provides robust benefit but allows for more sporadic or intermittent use. For those who may not need the service on a long term and constant basis, the flexibility that Casetext provides is invaluable.

Cons

Perhaps there could be examples given showing real word use of the more robust aspects of the service.

### "General Counsel Review"

October 26, 2020

4.0

I have been pleased, not only with the product, but with my interactions with Casetext personnel providing support.

Pros

I like that the features are similar enough to the "big boys" (Lexis-Nexis, Westlaw) that using the software is very easy and intuitive for anyone with familiarity with those products.

Cons

I really don't have a gripe with Casetext. For the price, it delivers as much and more than I could expect.

Cons

There is nothing I don't like about this Platform.

Casetext is okay. If it would keep track of customer's search words and apply them to case Law, Castext would out perform its competitors. At this point, Castext is no better, other than price.

Pros

The court of appeals rendering a ruling and Castext had that case on file one day after the ruling was posted by the appeals court.

Cons

It was hard to find cases on Declaratory Judgements rulings, especially on Insurance litigation issues.

### "Casettext: A good alternative to Westlaw and LexisNexis"

October 29, 2020

5.0

Overall I like the simplicity of Casetext and the search feature have worked well enough for me.

Pros

I like the fact that I have access to all law in the US pretty much at a month to month price that is affordable.

Cons

The only down side is the lack of secondary sources such as Matthew Benders Forms of Pleading and Practice, Westlaw's Rutter Group etc.

Pros

Easy to call up cases and prints in dual columns. Saving frequently used cases and research in separate folder is a great feature.

Pros

Easy to use and inexpensive. I can quickly find the cases that I need.

Cons

Recently started a 2nd pricing tier to use their AI technology. I am not a fan of multi-tier pricing. Hopefully this is not a step in the direction of Lexis or Westlaw.

### "Delivers as promised."

October 20, 2020

5.0

Pros

Good research functionality, can locate statutes/cases pretty quickly. Have used CaseText for two years and still stay with it because the platform provides all the research services a small practice needs.

Cons

Practice manuals, as seen on competitors, don't exist. Otherwise, no complaints.
