### "Bang for the Buck"

October 20, 2020

5.0

I enjoy the ease of just getting to the things I need quickly.

Pros

I like that I really get my bang for my buck with Casetext and have access to so many cases and not just locked into my state like other services for twice the price.

Cons

I would love to see a favorites for searches that I use the most often.

### "Beats Lexis for search"

October 20, 2020

5.0

Excellent overall, and worth every penny.

Pros

I like how it comes with multiple jurisdictions, plus the ability to upload files and search keywords automatically.

Cons

For its use for case and code research, Casetext is awesome. I still have Lexis for California Forms and the property/deeds research.

### "An affordable option that works well"

October 26, 2020

5.0

Pros

I work with a lot of clients who are on a limited budget, and affordability is an important factor for my research software. I've never not been able to find a case or statute that I needed.

Cons

I wish there were an app for my iPhone.

### "A Very Good Relatively Inexpensive Computer Legal Research Tool"

October 20, 2020

4.0

Pros

It cost less than one third of what its competitors charge, the costumer support services are great and, but for one glitch involving the need to include exact search word or words in quotes, the integration of the system into my existing process was easy

Cons

There is a little bit of time needed to get familiar with the software

### "You're making a mistake if you don't switch from Westlaw"

October 20, 2020

5.0

I made the switch and haven't looked back. I had been using Westlaw for 10+ years but took a free trial of Casetext and loved it and made the switch.

Pros

I liked that it was very easy to use but more importantly the price point is the best feature.

Cons

To be honest, I haven't found anything that I don't like about Casetext.

### "Economical and Intuitive"

October 26, 2020

5.0

Pros

I used Casetext for a year intermittently and found it to be intuitive and more versatile than Westlaw, which is what our firm now uses. I paid for the Casetext subscription myself and if I did not have free access to Westlaw I would subscribe again.

Cons

I have not found that searching statutory material is very easy with any of the existing software I have used and Casetext was no exception

### "Casetext is a Valuable but Inexpensive Tool"

October 20, 2020

5.0

Overall, I really like Casetext as a legal research tool. It is easy to use and inexpensive for my solo law practice.

Pros

Casetext is very easy to use--creating a search is extremely easy. Also, navigating through a document that has come up on a search is very intuitive, and I have had no difficulty fully utilizing the software despite never having done any training. And, despite its expansive search capabilities, it is very inexpensive for a user.

Cons

I have not found any difficulties with it.

### "A GREAT alternative for legal research that can compare with its more pricey competitors. "

June 9, 2022

5.0

Pros

At a great price point, it's a great alternative to other legal research online databases.

Cons

I do not have that many complaints, but if something could be improved, I suggest more features for note-taking and saving of cases/research.

### "Review of Casetext after 1 year of use"

November 3, 2020

5.0

Good

Pros

the greatest pros in favor of Casetext are: 1. AI powered analysis and search capability 2. Ease of Use 3. Broad library of legal authorities

Cons

at times running a PDF through the analyzer tool would not work well

Reason for choosing Casetext

I didn't. I currently use Casetext, Ross, Lexis and CEB, each for their own strengths and purposes.

### "Great with very minor issues"

October 26, 2020

5.0

It was good from the start. Pricing is great and transition was seamless

Pros

This software has great search capability and ease of use. It beats other legal research sofrware that I have used over the years.

Cons

Any issues are minor. The only additions I wish were there are 1. being able to use all citation formats because Virginia requires both SE2nd and Va cites and 2. more circuit court reports

Pros

It does almost what Lexis and Westlaw do, but at a much cheaper price.

Cons

It does not have page (jump) cites for both the official an unofficial reporters. At times, cases are missing from its universe.

### "A decent low-cost option"

October 20, 2020

4.0

Pros

Casetext has wide coverage of state and federal cases, statutes and regulations. It is much less expensive than competing products from Westlaw or Lexis.

Cons

It lacks case and statute annotations. The linkage to summaries of opinions given in other cases is spotty and not a real replacement.
