LucidLink Reviews
Pros
What I like most about LucidLink is the seamless ability to manage projects and work with diverse collaborators remotely.
The people working at LucidLink are responsive and care about our success.
Our experience with LucidLink has been excellent. Their support staff has been incredibly responsive and proactive in helping us.
This important layer of security combined with the ease of use of a locally mounted volume makes LucidLink a killer application for accessible and secure shared files.
Cons
The outage was very unfortunate and costly for our indie production, but Lucid's functionality when it's up and running can't be beat and I'll probably use it on all productions moving forward.
One of the main drawbacks I've encountered with LucidLink is the issue with updating the application on the day new updates are released. This has caused some disruptions to my workflow.
There have been many updates as the product matures and having to do an update each time you load the Lucid drive can be annoying.
Marketing "without ever downloading" is completely misleading and false - data has to upload and download to be viewed and "streaming" is not practical in many workflows.

"Left Dropbox (after 10 years) for Lucid. Glad I did!"
Overall: Excellent. Highly recommend. A+++++++++
Pros: Integration into file structure. Much easier than Dropbox.
Cons: No dislikes. Would not change anything.

"Great service"
Overall: So far so good. Great option for remote workflows
Pros: Being able to connect my team all over the world.
Cons: Not being able to control it through phone.

"Cloud based video editing"
Overall: As a video editor. LucidLink has fairly seamlessly been able to move me from using hardware based server and the stacks of hard drives.
Pros: Ease of use, speed and flexibility. Full HD video streaming/editing with the proper internet connection.
Cons: Setup and cache size needed at times. Can be tricky to get third party vendors to setup. Need a large high speed drive for cache drive.
"Excellent concept, impractical in real-world performance, misleading marketing"
Overall: I want to love and use Lucidlink but continue to run into the same issues whenever I try it out (again and again). I appreciate the concept and hope to see things continue to improve. Great product, but not compatible with our needs and use cases. Same goes for competitive products like Suite Storage.
Pros: I love the idea of having a single source of truth for a "cloud NAS" that is easily accessible to anyone with an internet connection. The user management and product setup are very clean and well done.
Cons: Marketing "without ever downloading" is completely misleading and false - data has to upload and download to be viewed and "streaming" is not practical in many workflows. When working with professional media files (RAW, R3D, ARRI, etc) that are very large (80 - 400 GB per file), it's very convenient to have the files in one place, but they will need to get downloaded at some point. The "streaming" functionality of lucidlink does not perform well working with high resolution/data rate files even in a 1 Gb - 10 Gb synchronous fiber internet connection, not to mention a typical consumer internet connection. It is what it is. Proxy workflows and strategic pinning of data is the solution but can require large local storage to accommodate working with single files over 250 GB each. Pricing is prohibitive vs. alternative workflows.

"Lucid Link Review"
Overall: It transformed our workflow for transition to a fully remote work setup
Pros: That it is simple and works the way you want
Cons: It would be googld to have SAML 2.0 support i stead of being forced to use Okta or Azure. Site caching would be nice for more hybrid workflows
