Deploy an OVA, connect it to the internet and vCenter, and you're done. Everything else can be done from the web portal. Cons I don't like backup software that uses VM-level snapshots. Too many issues with stunning VMs or having to configure credentials for in-guest access. Storage snapshots or native VMware replication technology is much less impactful.Also the software immediately takes a backup when a new VM is added to inventory, which is very disruptive and annoying when doing a large migration product. There's no option to tell the policy to just wait until the scheduled backup window starts. Pros It's really straightforward to use. It's not that you could not replicate what it can do elsewhere, but it's that it makes it easy to do things right and see reporting thereof. They don't paywall SSO. Costs are driven by storage consumed at rates that are competitive with first party solutions, while providing a better admin experience. Cons There are some backup types that do not yet support region selection. Additionally, it does not automatically detect which EBS volumes are backed up as part of EC2 backups, so if you are not careful you could double-backup.
