Everything works as expected, and adoption and buy-in are very easy. All the data is presented in easy-to-use sections, and it has directly allowed us to provide superior customer service to our clients. The Project module and tasks allow employees and managers to keep track of workflow, budgets, and target due dates. We have used several Practice Management systems (Practice, CCH Axcess, Office Tools). When it was time to change, I researched many of the top ones in 2023. Firm360 was the best program by far. Cons The weak part of this software is the billing. It seems as though it was an afterthought. It does the basics well; however, it is not very robust. There are many issues that were a step back for us as a firm. The customer service and support have been great, so we are hoping that over time, this part of the program will become stronger. The team at Firm 360 have always been quick and eager to help with any issues, questions, or concerns we have had. I would definitely recommend this to any accounting firm wanting to be primary digital. Pros My favorite feature on Firm 360 is that you can virtually track a project. You can update the project status to show who is working on it, and what step they are on. This saves a lot of confusion and running around when a client calls to ask our Admin team what the timeline of their return, bookkeeping, etc. Cons There is not really anything that comes to mind when thinking about my least favorite feature. Firm 360 is constantly doing updates and informing us on "what's new." The team at Firm 360 are also open to suggestions which is great! I'm biased because I chose it, but we have been very happy overall. The UX is leaps and bounds above PracticeCS. We also previously used GoFileRoom, and the ability to search for docs by typing in a word actually works in Firm360, and we replaced NetClientCS. With Firm360, the documents are immediately and reliably delivered to a client when we want. Our tax return delivery process is also much more streamlined. Pros The impetus for change was portal functionality. Clients have responded positively. We got document management in the bargain, much easier billing processes that result in getting paid sooner, better task management. Customer support is top notch! They care, are responsive and are continually improving their product based on feedback. The comparison leaves Thomson Reuters far behind in the dust. Cons The setup of a new system is never fun, but they did offer us a lot of support in getting everything up and running. The cost for set up I listed is what we paid a third party to get our old data moved into the new system. We don't have all of the reports we were used to and have missed some of those, but we can easily export to Excel and manipulate the data to our heart's content. That was inexplicably difficult in Practice CS because it required a lot of data cleanup first. Would also be nice to be able to add "upload only" access for some users who need to upload bookkeeping or payroll info to us, but be restricted from other access. Reason for choosing Firm360 Billing features, support, and overall value for the amount paid. Client portals in NetClientCS were unreliable and hard for clients to use. PracticeCS was robust in features, but hard to use and difficult to learn because TR likes to paywall all their training. Support was spotty and often had long wait times and they charged us. Firm360 doesn't send us bills for support. Even team members who are not tech-savvy can use it comfortably. Cons We do more fractional accounting services and not as much tax services. October 9, 2023 5.0 In my 25 years in this industry I have used many different products all claiming to save me time, money and be the best product for my business. I've gone from Big Time to OfficeTools, to PracticeCS, back to OfficeTools and now to Firm360. I have tested every other online practice management tool for accountands and all have fallen short except Firm360. Finally a product that has everything, is easy to learn and use, and support that is second to none. Pros Firm360 is so intuitive and easy to use. If you have ever used a computer you can use Firm360. Firm360 has everything our firm needs: Time tracking, project management, client management, client portal, invoicing, reporting, client communication. There are many programs out there but Firm360 is the first to have everything together in an easy to use online platform. Firm360 is also the only product that handles multiple locations correctly. I cannot forget the staff at Firm360. They are the BEST around! I've been in the tax and accounting industry for 25 years and have contacted all kinds of support services and NO ONE can touch the quality of support at Firm360! They treat you like your best friend! Cons The only con I can give Firm360 is not having a demo copy to play around with. I was apprehensive about transitioning to Firm360 without spending hours in the product myself. But I am so happy I made the jump. Never going back. Reason for choosing Firm360 Only Firm360 has been able to put project management, time tracking, billing, and client collaboration together in an easy to use platform. Clearly all other products were made by investors and computer engineers that do not understand how a tax and accounting firm should operate. Office Manager Accounting Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Can't operate without Firm360" May 12, 2022 4.0 We now have a view of pending and closed projects, how much time is being spent on a client, and all those other pesky management dynamics that keep your business' "black hole" to a minimum. Pros The software is incredibly easy to learn and use. Firm360 staff work hard at fixing issues quickly and are very responsive to feedback. Cons The report and search functions are still in the early days and need to be fleshed out. Right now many reports have to be exported to csv then created in excel. The search/filter functions aren't available on all input fields. There is no true integration with Outlook. Reason for choosing Firm360 I looked at pretty much every software out there that does Practice Management. We originally were going to go with a Thomas Reuters' product since it would integrate with their accounting and tax software but then they yanked it off the market. Firm360 checked all the basic requirements we have for any software: security, support, and stability. The ease in use and the fact it could grow with our business without additional costs is what tipped them over into the win column. I was able to ditch what I felt was antiquated software (Thomson CS) and streamline processes. It is rich with functionality and can handle a firm that doesn't do JUST tax returns. I think a lot of firm management software focuses too much on just the tax work. Firm360 is much more than that and continues to improve constantly. I will be able to easily scale my business thanks to them. Pros Easy to implement, easy to use. It has many features, and they are making consistent improvements every month. The clients like it and have had no trouble accessing the client portal and using the document upload. I also like that you can merge documents into one PDF. Cons I wish there were a mobile app for clients and my firm. Sometimes I'm on the go and would like to take a quick note on a client with my phone. I also wish that you could structure things by folder, and send automated tasks for clients. Organizers (customizable) would be nice too. Every month we get updates and in the year we’ve been with them, they have adapted and evolved their software as well as they listen to their customers. We feel like there is not alot of customer service real time interaction. Pros We like that we can see at a glance on our dashboard what work we have assigned to us as it comes in and the appropriate staff check in the projects. Cons The staff who have to scan the docs to Firm360 under the clients' accounts would like to have the option of using Folders on the Documents Tab to help organize the docs better...similar to what we had with another software company. I don't like that I can't run a better time entered report to calculate payroll hours to be paid. The staff doesn't like that when we print a tax return from one software program it doesn't talk to Firm360 to scan the TR doc directly to the clients' folders...that we have to save to desktop then scan to Firm360.
