"SPOT ON is the WORST POS SYSTEM"

**Overall:** We purchased the spot on POS system about a two months ago for our restaurant. It has been a total disaster to say the least. The problems started almost immediately when they missed the installation date that we both agreed to. When they did finally install, their technician was an unprofessional buffoon. Upon arrival he disconnected our AV system and our back office system that was supposed to remain running until we could transfer over our gift cards. After unplugging everything, he then determined our wiring wasn’t sufficient for the new system. Mind you this is a few hours before we need to open for the day. Once he finally figured out the wiring was fine, he installed the system. 4 terminals and 8 handhelds along with several printers. Once the system was turned on, we noticed there were many missing items, buttons, categories, etc. all of which had been worked on and discussed in several zoom programming meetings. Now the fun starts. Prices are wrong, discounts are added instead of subtracted, gratuity can’t be added, printers malfunction, systems lose connectivity to the internet, handhelds don’t work, back up cell service fails, tickets won’t print to the kitchen, the list continues. The next day brought a fresh new set of challenges, including categories disappearing and previous day programming corrections being erased. As I sit here a month after system start up, problems still persist. All I can do is warn anyone thinking about purchasing this system regrets. We are still having problems with the system, accurate reporting, credit card processing and their ability to fix many of the problems with the system.

**Pros:** I originally purchased this system to replace my existing system. I wanted the cloud based system that wouldn’t fail during power outages and the handhelds were also a bonus.

**Cons:** It’s really hard to come up with a least favorite when there are so many issues that have gone wrong. I guess I would have to say Spot On’s inability to fix the problems is the biggest problem we have currently

**Alternatives Considered:** [Toast POS](https://www.capterra.com/p/136301/Toast-POS/)

**Reasons for Choosing SpotOn:** Salespeople, cost, promised options, promised customer service. Our salesperson said they previously worked for toast and listed many issues the toast system has with operation and customer service.

**Switched From:** [Futures Platform](https://www.capterra.com/p/172667/Futures-Platform/)

**Reasons for Switching to SpotOn:** This QLaborate system didn’t have a cloud base option. It was also very old and starting to have major problems.
