August 7, 2025 4.0 After several years using this as a recipient and a group administrator, it is a useful tool for groups 10-100. I have never used it on a group over 100, but all the functions have served us well for this size. Usually we send messages 1-3 times a week. Pros It is easy to establish groups to connect many users quickly. We can easily add new administrators to the group. Cons Difficulty to remove old administrators when they are no longer active. Limited characters for quick notes. Users must download the app to respond to messages. October 20, 2023 5.0 Overall it is a fabulous program once it is set up. There are a couple of tech things that could be easier but overall it is a very easy program to navigate, post, and share with a wide audience. Pros ParentSquare is almost everything we have ever wanted in a program. It stores parent phone numbers and emails, communicates with them in their preferred method, and is easy to navigate. It really is a great program! Cons The program was a beast to get started and implemented. They put out papers that are supposed to explain how to set it up but even our tech company had trouble understanding what needed to be done. I really struggled to set it up. I told them if I had known how hard the set-up would be, I'm not sure I would have purchased it. That said, once it is set up, it's a great program. Switched from [Constant Contact](https://www.capterra.com/p/31898/Constant-Contact/) Parent Square keeps the contact information updated daily. Constant Contact would need an upload if you needed to send out emergency information so you were sure you got everyone. That's time you don't have in an emergency. Review Source ER Emily R. Minister of Youth and Discipleship Non-Profit Organization Management Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Left Remind bcs of SMS texting $ Service" July 31, 2025 4.0 Remind works for the function it was made for, but if you are wanting to just use it for SMS texting, you can find better companies that specifically work with that and are super easy friendly. I was saddened that it took them forever to reply back with customer service, but it is what it is. Pros Remind was easy to understand and work with. It was fast, efficient, and easily accessible to others on all phone platforms. It worked for my company for quite awhile until it changed its SMS function. It was free, which was great at the time. Cons Remind changed several months ago when it agreed that they will no longer do SMS texting on their platform. Our subscribers and audience rely on texting when getting their information. Half of are clients are older than 60 so they do not want an app to communicate. We need it simple. The worse is their customer service. I asked for help months ago as well as information and did not get a reply until 3 in half months later. Now I am getting multiple messages when it is already too late because we work with a different company. Review Source AT Angie T. I would recommend the product but I do think there a few things that would make it a better product. Pros The ability to stay in contact with school families without providing them personal contact numbers. Cons I wish it was clearer to tell who messages were going to and coming from. I love that it is contained within our school district. It has supported my needs to document communications with parents and teachers. Pros Parent Square is a comprehensive app that let's you privately communicate with parents, teacher's or the school community. The communication is documented with a date stamp and time. The communication can be sent to an individual or a group. Attachments can be added. It will send a text to your phone if you received a message. Cons The only con was that I didn't initially know I could receive a text. This was a quick click of a button. If a parent clicks the individual button rather than group button, a person does not know if the message was just sent to you or a rather a group of individuals/teachers. Review Source HJ Heritza J. Definately a faster way of communicating instead of waiting for a teacher meeting. Cons The only thing i dont like is some teachers you cant find them thru the search, you have to wait for them to generate a link or send you an invite before you can start communicating with them Review Source KP Khoi P. Without the Remind app, I would not have known and would have never completed it. This app saved my life throughout high school! Pros What I like the most about this software is how easy it is for teachers to communicate with students. With one phrase to the whole class, students are more likely to finish their assignments. After all, that is the point of the application. It is great! Cons What I like the least about the software is the organization. I believe the classes/courses should be easier to join. " June 29, 2022 4.0 Overall Ive had a positive experience with Remind and it works well for our purposes. I do think three could be improvements. Pros Remind is great for setting up a group reminder system while maintaining the privacy of each individual. It allows you to easily input and send out b the message to the entire group quickly and effectively. Cons One of the drawbacks about Remind is you are very limited on the number of characters you can send. This makes it difficult to ensure all info is included in one message rather than multiple. Students love it, parents love it, and everyone seems happy with all of the things that it offers. Pros As a teacher, communicating with parents and reminding students of information is critical. Remind allows this communication to be secure without exchanging phone numbers. I love how I can schedule messages in advance, and even send a picture, or a video if needed. I like how parents can sign up as a parent so when you send a messages either you can pick parents or students, and I also like how there is an individual messaging option for a student to reach out to their teacher individually. I also like how there are “office hours “you can set so it will tell the student that it is outside of your office hours if they try to contact you at an appropriate time. Cons I wish that the word maximum was larger. Right now it is very low, and I have found myself either making a video, or typing out my comment in a note or a message and screenshotting it and sending that instead. I also wish there was a way for group messages to show who has read the message. The individual messaging section does have this, but it would be very helpful if it was in the group section as well. Great way for my parents to keep me updated on any concerns or questions. It pops up on the parent's phone like a text message if that's their preferred way to receive messages. Pros It streamlines parent communication or your announcements. If, for example, you have open house meetings, you can create a calendar and have parents schedule the time they'd like to meet based on the availability on the calendar. Let the technology do the tedious work while you focus on something else. I can attach videos, pictures, documents, links and flyers to my messages. Cons When you're in the middle of composing a message and you click out of it, whether by accident or to do something else, it does not save the message you were already composing. Everything is gone. You'll have to remember what you wrote and type it all over again. I like that they have an app or can use it on my computer. I just hope they make the photo feature easier to use and less clunky! Pros I like that I'm easily able to write messages to the parents of our students. Each week we send an update of what is going on in class, share photos, send any important reminders, and highlights of the week. Parents can "appreciate" or "like", comment, and message us through it as well. We can also share links to important events as well. We have it set up so we can choose grade levels, teachers, etc. who we want to send the message. We can also change settings so it is pushed out right away or for parents to get notifications at their preferred time. All school announcements are also used on it. Our health screening survey during COVID was also done on ParentSquare so it was multifuncitonal. Cons I dislike that it is not user-friendly to add attachments and photos, this really could be improved to make it easier. It also takes photos a long time to upload. I've had the app crash when downloading a few times. The app allows me to add photos from my phone or iPad, but it is confusing how to select them and doesn't always work. Pros Not much at all, actually. This software is intended for simpletons like elementary teachers and children, and probably still misses the mark on that demograph. Cons Can not easily make changes to base account settings or even close account without an act of congress. The base software comes with no features really, and any feature will cost you thousands per year. Ultimately, my instructors and ADULT students were not impressed.
