Easy Data Transform allows me to quickly get spreadsheets, database files, delimited files, etc., into XML for publishing to complex, high-quality output formats. I can save the transform files and provide them to clients for in-house use. Pros It transforms data to and from a myriad of formats, using powerful visual tools. It's very inexpensive, especially for its extensive feature set. Cons Sometimes its difficult to figure out which transform types to use for a task, but the developer is very responsive and there is an excellent user forum. So far I've processed +1400 million rows in less than 2 years. I've trashed powerquery, vba, macros, powerautomate. Today I only open excel for complex calculations. No brain here, just buy it now. Pros I daily use the combo EDT + modernCSV and it changed everything. From one single source of data you can fork multiple outputs. Cons Pivots only in 3D (row + col + figures). Pros When it comes to quickly prep and unify data sets, even with millions of rows, nothing beats this tool. I have saved hundreds of hours by quickly be able to merge, analyze and unify data. It has become my go-to tool to prepare both small and massive data sets for both ad-hoc analysis and cleaning data before putting it into a database or BI tool. Cons Sometimes it can be hard to get a good overview when you have hundreds of transformation steps. Reasons for choosing Easy Data Transform That it works on both windows and mac. They seem to really watch the forum and answer very quickly. I email support many times when I was getting started with the software and always got help. It’s been an all around great experience. Pros Easy Data Transform is such a huge time saver. I had a weekly project I did for a client that took me all day (8 to 10 hours) to do manual with Excel, even when using macros to help with this large data analyzing process. With the wonderful help of Easy Data Transfers support I have a process that is no more than a click of a button. I save my new data into my saved cvs file, open Easy Data Transfer then open then saved file and it’s done! Yes, it took me a while (few days) to build the process in the Easy Data Transfers software but now it saved and reusable. Cons While they have a great forum and email support. I wish they had video tutorials showing each process and how it works. Reasons for choosing Easy Data Transform There is really nothing else you can compare to Easy Data Transform. The problem with video tutorials is that they go out of date quite quickly, especially when the software is being rapidly improved. However we do hope to add some more 'how to' videos in future.
