With more than 1,400 people signing up for our yearling challenge, we have had minimal issues with people not being able to figure out how to use it. Cons It would be great if there was a zoom capability for photo missions. That has been just about our only repeated complaint from the public. It also would be nice if in text based missions, there was an option for people to only put in an answer once and if it’s wrong, they don’t get the points and they cannot complete it again. We are finding that people just keep guessing until they get the correct multiple choice answer. It is wonderful for summaries of learning, campus orientation, end-of-year get-togethers, and more. Unfortunately, I am now downgrading as a result of the price rise. Pros Goosechase activities are always a big success. They can be educational or social, and they always are appreciated by students. The variety of options makes it suitable for all educational frameworks. Cons Recently the price for educators doubled, making the program no longer a viable option for educators. It was phenomenal. It allowed us to easily keep tabs on all of our students and keep them engaged in educational tasks during the trip, and they had a fantastic time doing so. They got to have fun, be goofy, stay competitive, and actively enjoy the location we visited. I would highly recommend Goosechase for anyone who wants to engage and entertain a group. Cons The price. I only wanted to use Goosechase for this one single trip and there were no options other than the annual subscription. I really liked the product and splurged on the app, but I don't know if I'll be able to afford to do so again, and that makes me sad. Reason for choosing Goosechase I loved the mission formats. The company's new community forum, The Nest, is informative and empowering. I find this company quite valuable in my role as an educator of both elementary and secondary students, not to mention with my fellow educators. Pros I love the versatility of this app. Students/players have the ability to complete challenges with text, photo, video and/or gps input. These options encourage a variety of depth and breadth in regard to learning challenges. Cons In past years, students had to have a particular mission/challenge open. This prevented students from uploading photos/videos from their camera roll. That was a negative issue because many of my high school students have phones that only work on wifi. August 14, 2023 5.0 I love this tool. I first used it as a participant doing a city-wide scavenger hunt with my family. I then created a challenge for a church family weekend. During covid, I found ways to use it in my classroom at Miami University with great success. I keep finding more ways to use it! Pros I love how I can quickly create challenges that line up directly with my classroom topics. From semester to semester, I can easily duplicate a previous challenge and make small changes. It really encourages me to think about my students' learning process and how to make it tangible. It also makes it fun! Cons I wish I could allow feedback/ comments on the leaderboard. Right now I have to add bonus points to be able to make any comments about it. I wish there was an way to quicly export a simple video summary (choose which challenge videos/ pictures, choose speed, choose music). Right now I export and make my own videos using tools like Animoto. Reason for choosing Goosechase It was so user-friendly to set up and run challenges. It is engaging and team focused and all members of your group is engaged instead of just one or two doing all the work for everyone. I highly recommend Goosechase and am thankful I learned about it at our Physical Education Conference in Wisconsin last fall. It's always great to bring something new and exciting back to the district. Pros Goose Chase is super easy to navigate through the app to set up. I viewed a couple tutorials but overall I was able to figure it out easily without any problems. It is also easy from the participant side to download the app, get signed in with the access code and begin the missions. I like have they have premade missions to get your ideas flowing but also the ease to make your own or tweek the ones they have premade. Cons I haven't had issues with the Goose chase app. The only thing I would say as I have used it with staff only would be to have a place to see what missions the participants completed/submitted and which they haven't in real time. The latest challenge I have 60 missions and they had 60 minutes to complete as many as they could so it would be nice from my end as an administrator to see which ones they were hitting and which ones they had yet to complete in real time. Pros As a middle school teacher, I have used GooseChase for five years on our annual Washington DC. Trip. The game not only keeps kids engaged, but it also provides me with a great collection of crowdsourced phots and videos! I also use it during the school year by offering various challenges to students based on our topics of study. Some challenges can be done at school or home, while others require some local travel to historic sites.In addition, I have used GooseChase for engagement at multiple professional conferences that I help organize and run. The conference challenges bring attendees together, offer ways to promote featured sessions, and provide some fun as well!I've alos used it for my extended family. It's an. amazing platform to guide people around our city, showing off historic sites, cool cultural attractions, and fun locations.GooseChase is easy to design, simple to implement, and a snap to monitor. Cons I would love some new functions - possibly some hidden bonuses when teams complete a series of missions, or some if/then functions at certain locations. Perfect for conferences and team building. Also great tool for teachers to have students learn about a topic asynchronously in a fun interactive. Pros This activity is so unlike anything else. I have never not had 100 percent engagement in any goosechase I have facilitated. From small children up to adult admins. Cons No one in my district except me has the opportunity to use it enough to justify a higher tier membership. We celebrate Employee Appreciation Week each year in March and engage our employees in a scavenger hunt through Goosechase for a variety of different activities. We pull raffle prize winners from those that participate! Pros We love to gather pictures of our employees engaging in all the fun activities through the different scavenger hunts we create and share them on our intranet page or in email articles. It is fun to see all the different interactions and to see our employees smiling. This is such an easy and fun way to capture these fun memories and moments. Cons I have not found anything I would say I like "least" about Goosechase. I think overall the program has a lot of different use cases and I enjoy reading how others have used this program at their organizations through the Goosechase library. I wish thr educator price point was still available, but I liked it enough to renew my subscription. Pros I love the premise of this game. It is easy to set up and so customizable to each group. It helped me create engaging staff morale building activities. Even.when I repeated a game, it was still engaging enough to keep interest. Cons I wish there was a way for the person running them game to be able to use the app a little more. Having to rely on my computer to give points and see submissions is difficult. Pros As a high school Campus Minister, I lead retreats for students and staff which require me to engage 40-150 people at the same time! Goose Chase is an easy way for me to create interactive lessons that teach themselves so that I can attend to another group or task. Cons I wish that the free version allowed for more players within a game. Most classes, even when broken into groups, have more than 5 users needed.
