Most of Factor i am not well versed in and would like more training sessions. I have not seen sessions on what i would like to learn. Pros Ease of use, and get better as its being refined. The ability to drill down to the information or data needed. Great for tracking and accountability. Cons So much to learn, but there is help is required. Would like to learn the CRM more proficient for my use, and to be able to add more information and the ability to link it to Outlook emails. We looked at the larger legacy A/E platforms and the cost and implementation burden were not justifiable for a firm our size. Factor gave us project financial visibility that we did not have before, at a price and a rollout effort that a small firm can absorb. It is not the deepest tool in every category, but it covers the things that actually drive firm profitability, and the team adopted it without a fight. Pros The project structure matches how we actually scope and bill. Breaking a project into phases with separate budgets lines up with our fee proposals, so tracking effort against fee is a direct comparison instead of a reconciliation exercise. Time entry is quick enough that staff actually keep up with it, which is the whole battle. Sub-consultant tracking and the QuickBooks Online sync removed a lot of duplicate entry. Onboarding was assisted and helped us create invoices specific to our project types. The cost compared to competitors is a huge plus. Cons It would be great to be able to integrate it more with Teams/Planner/Onenote. There is alot too the platform that I think we are not using to the fullest as a small firm. It would be great to have some guidance on high value aspects of the platform specifically for small firms. The training modules are easy to follow and not time-consuming ensuring quick implementation. Support team is extremely knowledgeable, and most inquiries/requests are answered or resolved in a timely manner. If Factor is limited on capabilities, staff is excellent at assisting in changing workflows to accommodate a request and maximize efficiency. Adjusting various aspects of a project as it progresses is very simple allowing for easy tracking of client requests and change orders. Invoicing and billing are highly customizable allowing accommodation of client specific billing requirements to be met easily. Pros The software works very closely as advertised in addition to being very user friendly. Factor can be highly customized in a variety of ways and customization can be applied to specific projects, clients, or project types. Factor has increased team collaboration by having project details available in a single, easy to access platform. Value for what the platform can do is amazing. Cons The ability to copy information from one project to another or from templates is done on an all or nothing basis. It would be nice to be able to have greater control to decide exactly what data is copied to another project. For instance, in order to copy tasks, you must also copy entire budgets. Sometimes you just need certain tasks or budgets on a case-by-case basis.
