I personally feel that MTM got simplified with timeSSD. Pros The simplified interface and its accuracy is the strength of timeSSD. Cons I have not figured out any difficulty till now. Pros The software is very useful for a manufacturing unit ,having products measured in time units ( as minutes or minutes subdivisions) .The benefits of the platforms are resulting from the data base of basic motions which could be combined , mixed and developed as well ,extremely useful for an engineering department and also for training the aprenticees engineers which are instructed to work with "Time & methods". Even initially the software was starting from apparel indusrty , several related industries could use the actual tools such as automotive trade , or any other trade which develop an operational sequences able to be divided in elements of motions . Cons There are several working steps which need certain training time and unfortunately , you cannnot develop the existing date base of operations which are installed by default. The companies which have an engineering department well developed could find the actual data base of operations quite limited , thus a certain user posibility to upload and contribute to the system could be taken into account for the future ,for improvement and optimization. Reason for choosing TimeSSD The proximity of supplier location and excellent communication and collaboration along the years , on other related projects. May I mention that timeSSD allows the development of the own, private motion elements and stores them to reuse. Professor Education Management Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Teaching about time" November 26, 2020 5.0 As I previously precise, I teach the "Time & Methods" course to the students from Textile Faculty. I teach my students how to make a time study using different methods, according to the industrial reality. For instance, to make a valid time registration one needs to evaluate the operator efficiency and this aspect require a very good production experience and intuition. My students often are unpleased about the subjective aspect of this time study technique. But they become relaxed when we start to use timessd. Everything become logic and easy to understand/accept. Pros The interface is user friendly and intuitive. I am professor of "Time & Methods" to the Textiles Faculty and I can say that my students instantly become users of timessd. OK, I have to explain them the purpose of the software and how they must choose the most appropriate movement sequence, but in terms of general using it's perfect. The Elements menu is very comprehensive. Actually, one can find any movement of a real manufacturing operation. And it's possible to introduce the effect of some influence factors, like fabric specific behavior or manipulation difficulty, witch it's quite useful. The output of your work is very accurate. Besides the standard value of operational time one can generate the work method with technical details. The analysis of the work method components (hand/sew/cut) could be useful for improvement of the efficiency. Cons The timessd user should be familiar with MTM theory. A MTM training is mandatory to fully understand the software functionality. On the other hand, the timessd user should be an experienced technologist in order to generate valid operational times. December 3, 2020 4.0 Pros TimeSSD is a PMTS, with garment industry specific motions (and not only) similar with other worldvide used software in the industry. Particular is the webbased possibility and the pay/ use option. Dosnt need to buy the software, becouse can be used only for a limited time, for a minimal payment. After my best knowledge, with 100 Euro can be defined the standard time for 2,3 ..5...10 products depending on complexity level. Cons I have no significant negative remarks.. Right, the "pay as you go" principle allows the full flexibility for the user to decide when it needs and buys credits for its work, no restrictions. As a teacher and a practitioner, it brings a lot of flexibility, accuracy, and scientific understanding while analyzing. A number of students have benefitted from this, and they have been actively practicing the same in professional environments. Pros Being Web-based brings much-needed flexibility, and one can access it from anywhere. The flexibility of selecting the most appropriate elements and respective codes. The supportive demo video helps immensely in decision making for the beginners. Cons I personally feel the interface and layout may be improved and can be a little more user-friendly. Analysis with check and stripe material, delicate materials (which increases the difficulty level while sewing) may also be incorporated. Worth for a try for our new engineers out there! Pros The best part about this software is that anyone who has medium know -how about pmts system/theory will easily get his hands on this software without any prior or professional training. I myself have tried this software without any training and being a college student without any industrial experience was easily able to set my hands on it so, definitely it is working with our professionals working out in industry. Cons In general when I was a regular user there were many bugs but with time it been rectified and solved. Some videos are missing from the element description. So we don't have a history. But we are convinced, that the Myanmar garment industry will need this program to calculate fair prices for their products. Pros TimeSSD is based on MTM2 and in this case it is a perfect tool to train our trainees for industrial engineering. We as Aung Myin Hmu Skills training Centre introduce our trainees to TimeSSD and in the same time they learn how work with predetermined time measurements. On one side it is a training tool, on the other side we try install TimeSSD in the Myanmar garment industry. Cons There is nothing to claim from our side.
