Pros I was having issues tracking my time. Working for a consulting company has made this a critical part of my job. No other tool worked as well with automatic tracking as TimeBro. I pay for it myself and it is well worth the investment. I would love to see the rest of the company move in this direction. As long as there is an affordable single user option, I will always use this product. Cons I have had some weird issues with my computer restarting or closing a Zoom or Teams meeting. I don't know why and it may not be related to Timebro at all. I am curious if the automatic tracking is what is causing the crash. I needed a way to track how I spend in research and in writing and I needed to be able to split it out by client. What I love about timeBro is that it automatically tracks what I'm doing and shows the titles of the docs I'm reading or writing so I can easily categorise which client to bill. Pros The automatic time-tracking is the best feature from my perspective. I have having to interrupt my flow in order to log my time. I love the way timeBro shows me the application I was working in as well as the title of the document. Cons There are many additional features built into timeBro that I will never use. With this you won't. It is basic compared to the competition but the tracking itself is really accurate, which is the most important part (for me at least). Pros Simple to installSimple to use,Rock steady automatic time tracking (I tried several of the competitors before deciding on timebro and its the most consistent by far if working on multiple projects and software)Tracks software and filenames so fairly easy to log time even if you leave it a few days before getting back to it. It can get very confusing and it's easy to miss an hour or two when doing manually. timeBro makes the process easier, and most importantly helps make sure every billable hour is captured. Pros Simple UI makes it quick and painless to track and allocate hours to projects. Integration with some common backends means that I don't have to rekey every time entry (just some, where a customer has an unsupported time system). Since using timeBro the hours I spend tracking time are down, but more importantly the missed hours where I do some work but don't end up billing are minimized. Catching just one or two hours a month more than pays for the subscription. Cons The only thing that can be difficult is syncing projects/tasks with teamwork, though I'm not 100% sure if the problem is with teamwork or timeBro. I had some minor issues with timezones in extracts, but support was excellent, and it was fixed in the next release. I wasn't a fan of the subscription model, but will grudgingly admit that the frequent improvements to the product and the value received make the quarterly cost well worth it. August 24, 2023 5.0 Overall experience is excellent. Pros TimeBro keeps track of screens I have open and since I always have a dozen things open at once it shows me which screen I was engaging with. During my normal workday, I may start working on something and receive a call - so I have to quickly pop to another screen, and then another, and then maybe jump on a meeting, all before I get back to what I was originally working on. This can all happen multiple times a day. I've worked on billable time for over 20 years so I am meticulous about my timekeeping, but on those days where I'm pulled from task without notice TimeBro helps me keep track of time I actually spent on things.TimeBro helps my team in a few ways: 1.) We are able to keep track of time we spend on project related tasks so we can properly bill current clients. I have loaded our projects/tasks into TimeBro so we are able to produce timesheets and import them into our ERP system. 2.) This data also helps us, very accurately, budget for new projects, and that is a huge win for our client because we are able to provide reliable project estimates. 3.) TimeBro reports would great documentation of the actual work time on tasks if we ever needed that kind of documentation. Cons TimeBro is a game changer for me. I love it. If I could improve anything ...? I'd love it if TimeBro could know when I'm in a meeting (start and stop times on Teams, Zoom, and google meetings). It knows what's on my calendar and it knows how long I have the zoom/teams/google open - but if I end a meeting and walk away for a minute it does not know that. It is also understandable that you compare the two, because with both you can enter times for projects. But timeBro's actual task is to help you remember those times. For this, a very complex algorithm works for you every single second, which must be able to recognize, measure and display all program usage - without gaps. A lot of developers work on it to keep it as powerful and silent as it is. We hope this explanation doesn't come across to you as self-righteous or know-it-all. For example : i can use my icalendar for the meetings a know in advance. Beside this i can add everything i did in between. It used to take ours to recall everything i did. Pros I think it's working ok, but stopped using it after some time. Cons The licensing business model is based on the bet on users forgetting when the renewal period is. I myself stopped using it and after a year I was billed for renewal (for two more years) even though I was not using it at all. I immediately canceled my subscription but was refused the refund. I think that in today's word its fair to bill your customers for using your software, and many solid companies do it its way. If you product is good, customers won't cancel.
