I really like the "Create New" feature which gives me the ability to add an expense, clock in time, invoice, or provide an estimate with one click on the main landing page. I don't have to "dig" into an app to accomplish a task Cons Many of my customers have multiple rooms. I can't seem to easily navigate the "selections" section. This is probably just me figuring out the learning curve. VP of Engineering Information Technology and Services Used the software for: I used a free trial ### "BUYER BEWARE" May 23, 2024 1.0 Pros 3D renderings were not bad Had some options for furniture templates Cons I highly recommend against this app. Sure, there are a lot of “free trials” out there that make you put in a credit card number, and then you forget to cancel in time, and then they charge you. Be warned, this app will charge you $199 per month, and if you cancel even a minute after your renewal, they will stick to their terms and screw you out of your money even though you don’t want to use their service. I was unfortunately on vacation in Mexico at the time my trial was expiring so I missed it when it came through. I cancelled probably 7 or 8 hours after the renewal deadline when I finally saw it. Like I said, I would avoid this app like the plague. Also, besides the money scam, this app is so-so in terms of features. None of the the things I thought would be helpful are they just create more work!! Pros Nothing at all onboarding etc took forever and half the time quickbooks didnt work with it! Cons They will rob you blind I started off being charged 2k for the year now I am on year 3 and they are charging me 6k and I cant get out of it!! You can never get anyone that you need to talk to immediately and sometimes have to wait days. Building a wall, for example, requires various materials such as wood, nails, and waterproofing. It would be beneficial to have a database to display the actual cost of the project accurately. I need to take time to focus on training and setting up additional features. There are a lot of great features. Pros The ease of use! Most design management software is very outdated, bulky, confusing. I needed something that I could use on my own (currently, I'm a team of 1!) and understand easily. I'm a designer/creative type so the backend office / billing/accounting portion of my business can be really draining. I needed a software to keep me organized and while being able to handle my book keeping. Cons It's taking me awhile to get everything setup. I need to spend the time watching the intro videos. Some of the details can be hard to change once entered, some steps on the invoicing system seem repetitive. Reason for choosing Houzz Pro Cloud based! A good price for my small business. The ability to put together proposals, financials and have all relevant communications under each project for easy access is helpful. Support people are helpful. Cons The credit card payment facility needs addressing with a 1.4% slug out of your invoice for card payments. If I get stuck I just refer back to the videos. Pros I like Houzz Pro because it has everything a Designer needs in one system. Cons I do not like that there are only leads or Clients in the system. And you cannot pick and choose who to send emails to. You have to send a campaign to the whole group. I like to send an email to certain zip codes or too one Management group. I haven't discovered how to do that yet. I don't work with them on lead generation. Pros I mostly use Houzz Pro to manage my projects, put together proposals and managing invoicing. The Ivy clipper tool is amazing for pulling together product proposals easily. The proposals and invoicing are seamless. I also use the time stopwatch for clocking freelance hours which seamlessly translate to an invoice for billing which is amazing. I also use the scheduling tool for planning project work which is also useful. Cons The credit card payment function for invoices is extremely expensive so I always have it turned off. The scheduling tool can sometimes be buggy where it adds additional time to the schedule without requesting it. Review Source MH Melanie H. There are areas for improvement, however overall it has given our clients a better user experience for being able to better communicate our design and build ideas, proposals and updating clients about the project during construction. Pros Love that it has the option to provide a well rounded service from start to finish in handling clients from lead stage, to design, quotation proposals and build management. Not many options out there that combine design and construction components in one program. Cons Leads that come through are hit and miss. A lot of scam leads. However, have had some very successful leads. I couldn't be without it. I love how helpful the staff have been with my feedback too, everytime I have suggested what they could do better they have acted straight away and in a short time frame, the feature arrives making the software better and better for Designers. I love it. Pros I like the functionality and the features being all in once place. I like the sync to quickbooks, the project planning tool and the proposal and selections board tool. I love that I can show Client's how we are on or over the planned budget, and they can clearly see why. We can work collaboratively more effectively. The Client Dashboard is incredibly useful too. Cons It can be sluggish sometimes, and sometimes freezes for a bit which is frustrating when you are trying to work quickly. I would love more integrations as I don't expect the software to be brilliant at everything. It can be difficult for Client's to access their Dashboard without regularly sending them the link. Reason for choosing Houzz Pro The many functions all in one place. Each of these equally amazing softwares don't have quite as many features as Houzz. Houzz is also very easy to use. The staff was eager to help get me started and are still just a phone call away when I need help or have questions. The estimating "program" is extremely helpful... I use it every day! The "Layout" and 3D design "program" is awesome for when I design a new kitchen or bathroom renovation. Cons Sometimes the updates and changes to the programs throw me for a loop, however, the staff always help get me back on track. Reason for choosing Houzz Pro I liked what was offered as far as the estimating and design programs, also the Houzz representative, Marie, was extremely informative, patient and knowledgeable. She answered all my questions and was able to elaborate further to help me understand what Houzz offered. Our money is better spent in marketing we can trust in Pros If you need a website created and maintained, I think the service and the quality are fair for the price. Especially if your contractor. Builder remodeler. However, if you are an interior designer, I think it might be a good vehicle for Leeds. Cons It will take you signing up for a year contract and paying them to learn that it is not a good return on your investment. it cost us over $8000 to learn that it was just $8000 wasted for the year. However, after the first year, they did offer me a lower price to continue for another year. I refused, as that would've just been additional lost revenue and no return on our investment. Their sales team is simply just that. People trying to sell you on the idea that you're going to get a return on your investment when in reality they could care less all they're trying to do is make a sale.
