Administrative Assistant Construction Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Doesn't fit our current business model" April 2, 2021 3.0 Our purpose in using Houzz Pro was to bring in quality leads. That was the only function we desired to use it for, bringing us leads that fit our business model. Our hope was that Houzz Pro would filter out leads that weren't a good fit, and connect us with people who were a good fit. That's two separate objectives, and Houzz Pro isn't meeting either of those. Most of the leads we get are not looking to hire at all, or they aren't looking to hire a company like ours. They're looking to hire directly, not work with a general contractor. Pros Houzz Pro has a good look and is constantly updating it's capabilities. Cons Some of the newer features are more about Houzz doing something, than creating a product that connects quality leads with professionals. They make a lot of noise and do a lot of things, but no one really benefits. Concierge services, especially has been very unhelpful. Also, they way Houzz Pro redesigned it's format is not as user friendly for our objectives. Reason for choosing Houzz Pro We were optimistic that Houzz Pro could filter out people who weren't serious about renovating, as well as those who wanted to hire tradesmen. Learning each function is a challenge, but videos are there to help. Sourcing merchandise is easier. Love the clipping tool. Pros Building my website and being able to compose and send professional looking proposals to prospects. Soft connections to prospective clients. Being able to request reviews from clients. Director Architecture & Planning Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Fake Reviews, Poor Customer Service & Rolling Contracts" December 13, 2022 1.0 Houzz Pro Support is exceptionally poor. They have refused, for example, to take down a fake review of my service which details an encounter with a client which never occurred and which violates Houzz's own review Policy. They have accepted a falsified invoice as proof of the encounter. For this reason, I am relieved that I have never used features of Houzz Pro beyond marketing. I was tempted at one stage to avail of their offer to host and design my website. I realise now that to do so would be to cede authority to an entity which knowingly publishes defamatory and libellous reviews. Under these circumstances, their rolling one year contract system is infuriating. Pros Houzz provides a platform for me to showcase my design projects. Cons I have avoided using features of Houzz Pro other than marketing as I am wary of ceding control of my affairs to big tech. Review Source CF Cindy F. Most of the products in the Pro app I don't currently use. I use Quickbooks for invoicing, accepting payments, etc. Right now, all I've been using it for it's getting the leads and making notes on the follow ups. Pros It seems easy to use. I just need to learn and start using the Mood boards for clients. I do use the catalog and have liked adding products that I find to the catalog. Cons It's a learning curve. Having periodic check-ins with relationship manager has been great. --looking forward to seeing how these applications mature over time. Pros \--a great array of tools ranging from CRM to analytics to design tools Cons \--CRM not as full featured on mobile, for example email templates on desktop are not available on mobile --Analytics are great for seeing MoM comparisons with our own numbers, but would be nice to see how we are doing against our competition as well (city, region, state, national) in order to measure true effectiveness --design tools are a bit buggy, for example living room furniture doesn't seem to load properly in floor planning tool and no apparent way to import an existing floor plan CAD file to save on re-drafting time. Feels very much like this is a beta tool, but has interesting possibilities especially for furniture specification. Reason for choosing Houzz Pro Longtime positive experience with Houzz and a huge fan. We don't use all the functionality it has but some things don't fit exactly what we need anyways. Pros I like having a visual image attached to each item going onto our invoices and proposals. They are easy to create, easy to apply payments and convert proposals to invoices. Cons Creating room boards so they are more like visual mood boards. We use a totally different software for this feature since this one isn't as user friendly. I dislike that you can't move items around within the proposals. If you forget something and you want to group it on a room with other things, you have to delete everything til you get where you want it to go and then add it all back in again. Owner Design Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Houzz Pro for project management and invoicing" April 15, 2024 5.0 Positive from a project management and invoicing tool perspective. I don't work with them on lead generation. Pros I mostly use Houzz Pro to manage my projects, put together proposals and managing invoicing. The Ivy clipper tool is amazing for pulling together product proposals easily. The proposals and invoicing are seamless. I also use the time stopwatch for clocking freelance hours which seamlessly translate to an invoice for billing which is amazing. I also use the scheduling tool for planning project work which is also useful. Cons The credit card payment function for invoices is extremely expensive so I always have it turned off. The scheduling tool can sometimes be buggy where it adds additional time to the schedule without requesting it. Review Source BD Brieannon D. We utilize Houzz at this point as our main source of leads besides word of mouth. Pros I love the Houzz lead generating service as well as the CRM features on the website. Cons The only con I could really say is I get reports from potential clients that messages don't go through or sometimes they are sent to their spam folder. The platform also offer the basics marketing tool which is very helpful. Pros The all in one software simplified the way I process my business. Ivy has made it easier and effective, although the software needs some improvements it is still better than most interior design software I know. Cons The ability to edit or cancel items/products once the Invoice has been issued. Generating credit memos are also difficult. I also wish the bank transfer payments were free of charge. Pros Being able to input customers and create custom estimates and invoices along with billing/payment parameters is great. I've lost a lot of money using weak invoicing systems and Houzz looks solid! Cons I don't like that you have to add customer email in order to add a customer. I find that really the biggest issue and a prettybig one Reason for choosing Houzz Pro By chance I googled invoice templates and saw the Houzz website. Pros I decided to use Houzz as my platform of choice for my remodeling/renovation business because it has the widest range of abilities to help consolidate all my processes into one spot. Before Houzz I was utilizing seven or more apps to accomplish my tasks. Houzz Pro is really the best choice if you want to save time, save money, and increase productivity. Cons Frequent updates get confusing trying to figure out what changed. Sometimes slow server is frustrating or estimates don't save for unknown reasons. Client manager is not responsive to questions. Estimates look great if sent through an email but don't look good when saved to a PDF.
