The 3d floor plan is a great tool but needs to be simpler. Pros Project management. I love being able to make my estimates. Having my template ready to load is such a time saver. Cons The 3D floor design is moat confusing to me. Being able to click the floor to add vinyl or tile should be easy. I usually just skip alot of options because of how confusing it is. Also raising fees. I cut out zones to save money and price increases just bring it back up. Lastly leads are getting fewer and fewer. Slowly its starting to cost me more to have houzz then im actually getting from it. Not sure how long i can continue. I just recently brought on the idea of bringing another designer into CDG, and I showed her a quick preview of the program, and she was blown away. It took her 5 minutes to realize she has needed this program in her career years ago! Pros I love how easy it is to keep all of your information, design work, client files, contracts and MORE all in one spot. Instead of using so many different programs, it's all in one spot. Any time I have ever had an issue, my support team is quick to respond and assist with any questions or needs I have. Cons If I have to choose anything, The budget needs a "estimate" first. Putting in the budget I may not know what services will be required, therefore what all would be on the initial estimate until I see/source help and design. Review Source Phillip W. March 31, 2025 4.0 It has been a good experience thus far, and their support team has been quick to respond and assist with any issues encountered. Pros I like the 3d rendering software and its ability to populate directly into a quote for quick project estimations. The product clipper makes it quick and easy to add products to your selections board and quote out items that are not included on the houzz platform already, making it easy to sell anything you can source to your clients. It has a strong built in CRM to assist with clienteling and lead development. Cons API access should be added so that you can integrate external catalogs and systems into it for a broader range of selections and increased integration abilities. The credit card fees are higher than the several point of sale systems I use and am familiar with. It is expensive and not worth the investment. Very disappointed in what could be a really good software. Pros Product (software) is just ok and the customer service and leadership is terrible. I am only giving the 2 stars because the software is promising however the leadership and a customer service is absolutely disappointing and terrible. The whole lead generation portion I purchased is 100% a waste of money. Never do it again and I would recommend that you don't either. I had issues with getting my money using their credit card service and again no leadership just a bunch of excuses. Cons Terrible customer service. " April 8, 2025 4.0 Pros I love how the whole system is set up. It has been very easy for my crew to get used to using and all customer project information is stored in a convenient way. The features available really help cut down on time spent working on estimates, floor plans, and changes are so easy to make without getting rid of the quoted item completely. Cons The communication system is not what I had hoped it was. Customers have a hard time with communication through the app and you have to check your email threads. Even if it shows a customer looked at your estimate in the title, there could be a totally different client response in the same email. There is no notification in Houzz Pro itself nor is that communication in Houzz mail or chat. I also do not like that I cannot see the clock in and out times with our guys. I can only see how many hours they worked. I don't understand why i can't see those times. Information is not streamlined so there is a lot if second and third entry tasks. There are no 2D or 3D floor plan options. Every time the system was updated I'd lose full estimates, projects, or individual invoices petaining to a project. I learned not to trust it and now print everything out as a backup and all clients have a folder with info from the first meeting notes, all estimates sent, invoices, etc. Not to mention the crew could not get used to it nor did the app function when they tried. I'm just really not happy about the cost increase and limitations. I think it will suffice for now for the money, but I would like answers as to why $200/mth does not give me full access to ultimate options. Pros I love being able to source and build product selections, then link them to proposals and invoices. I also love being able to send my clients invoices and have them pay directly from the invoice. Cons I do not like that the price for pro increased and I still don't have all of the options. I should not have to pay even more each month for ultimate service. $200 / mth is definitely plenty and I've used Houzz for a long time. I also don't like not being able to use my sourced products in renderings yet. This needs to happen by now! The renderings still need a little improving on the visual side, but I do love being able to produce a more photo realistic image. It just takes forever to generate. Principal Architecture & Planning Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Houzz Pro is a Scam" May 22, 2025 1.0 Scam Pros Several years back, we received a legitimate lead from Houzz Cons Houzz pro is a scam: confirmed. I received an email that rates would be going up by 30% and was given no opportunity to opt out or pause subscription while we re-evaluated the value to our marketing and branding strategy. Instead, they auto renewed the account and threatened to report our company to collections if we didn't continue to pay the new amount to "honor the terms" of the agreement. We gave them the option of allowing us to pay the fees we never agreed to with the understanding that we would be severing business ties with Houzz or put the account into a paused state until were able to better assess how to utilize Houzz pro services moving forward. They opted to burn the bridge so we paid the fees in exchange for account cancellation. Again, they autorenewed after we asked them not to and said there was "nothing they could do about it" once the autorenew at the higher rate had occurred. Pros Very quick responses from the Houzz Team. Able to populate product selections from the internet. The Houzz team is very agreeable to help clients overcome obstacles. Cons I am very new, so I learn something new every day. The floor plan set up is very limited to plotting layouts. I need to produce floor plans that are scalable and present other that dark grey. Not as complex as AUTOCAD, but more accessible to the client and subcontractors. It's also so easy to create 3D floor plans, even if you don't have CAD experience, and clients are always with the walkthrough capabilities. Support is also very responsive. Cons I wish custom 3D models came standard with the subscription, rather than as an add-on. I also wish it was easier to add custom wall treatments like molding and wallpapers to the 3d floor plans. I’ve worked with many different contractor softwares and my coaches in Houzz have been the most helpful coaches I’ve had. Pros The entire package is a wonderful software for contractors. The estimates look amazing and my clients love them and the client portal. Cons The latest update combined the labor and material. Now I can not see what the overall cost of material is for a project. I have never had someone try to take advantage of me and take so much money like this before. See Cons section. Pros nothing. See the Cons section. They charged me almost $6k for a service I did not want and have not used Cons They set me up on a free trial. My sales rep, \[sensitive content hidden\] intentionally misled me by explaining all costs in terms of monthly cost. Then at the very end, sends a contract that has me paying for the entire year up front. I had multiple conversations with them about how the service was not working out for me during the trial period and how I was going to be using a competitor instead. Rather than cancelling my account, they send me a link to cancel it myself. I fill out the form and forget about it. Months later when doing annual reconciliation of my business, I see I was charged $5,750!! They said they have no record of a cancellation form from me. I have not touched this app or utilized any service since the trial period. When I attempted to work with customer service to get my money back for a service I do not use, they flat out denied me. Shame on me for being in a hurry and not paying attention to that contract I signed. But for the company to show zero flexibility and common sense is unacceptable. Charging someone nearly six thousand dollars for a service they do not use is absolutely insane. Collecting my money on a technicality and not by actually conducting mutual business of money in exchange for services. They displayed to me that they are not a trustworthy company and do not have the ability to look at a situation fairly for their customers, I will absolutely never recommend this company, and in fact will be very actively steering my friends away from this service in the construction company. DO NOT USE THEM. Their competitors are much better, look up other options for construction software. The client design consultation process can be lengthy, especially when clients have difficulty visualizing their space. But, the model display and ability to edit while in consultation has proven to shorten the design process and improve client satisfaction and confidence in us to deliver the house of their dreams. Pros The ability to interact with my colleagues, shareholders and clients on Houzz has been an invaluable experience which has helped us deliver to our clients a more transparent view of the design and build process. Being able to illustrate my design concepts and calculate take offs in one platform has given me a substantial improvement on efficiency, allowing myself and my team to complete a greater number of projects to the same and even higher standard of care. Not only this, but the ability to amalgamate our scheduling and budget into the same platforms allows all of our team access to the information they need without having to search multiple platform or documents for the information they need. Cons Like every software, there is a learning curve. Thankfully, due to its simple and accessible interface, becoming familiar with Houzz Pro doesn't take nearly as long to become well versed in compared to other similar software. There are some softwares that are highly customizable which is nice but can take a long time to set up. While Houzz Pro doesn't have that level of highly customizable options, it does allow you to get started faster and re-orient your use of the platform in the future. Review Source BM BAYLEN M. " April 10, 2025 3.0 The advisor assigned to me normally had to contact an advisor to get the answer to my question. Once this became tiresome, I felt I was being a nuisance and eventually caught her Bs’ing me in circles. It then appears they were paid on commission and once my commission because challenging, she gave up. Extremely disappointing because I was onboard for the simple fact the scanning feature was accurate. Overall, the advisor assigned to me killed the deal and I cancelled. Pros Ease of use, built in Lidar scanning feature for rooms to help with takeoffs. Cons Program didn’t feel complete. It felt as if they gave it 100% in the scanning rooms feature, but when creating estimates it wasn’t nearly as streamlined.
