So I quickly reached out the Houzz- upon hearing from colleagues in my field- and they wouldn’t refund my money. In order to make up for the lost funds, we will have to complete a job that is outside of our business set: Building a deck/patio rather than culinary raised bed gardens. Pros It has a lot of functionality. Would work well for a landscaper/contractor in general business models Cons It doesn’t market to my specific niche. We love the options we can adjust to customize our estimates to fit our business's needs. Cons That the estimates can't be permanently locked for the clients. The estimate is a live link so if you don't change the settings back before a client re-clicks the link, they can see all your internal prices. Also, the floorplan layout is great but lacking in options for finishes and it would be lovely to have a deck/screen porch feature. The customization options available on Estimates, include the ability to hide columns from your client. Even after sharing an estimate with a client, you can always go back to Edit mode to check your internal prices without affecting the client view. If you mark certain columns as hidden from the client, they will not be visible to the client. July 3, 2024 4.0 The learning curve on Houzz Pro was pretty simple to get going, however being a deconstruction contractor in which the program was not designed for it has taken a few years to get it adapted for me and I still have a ways to go it seems. Pros With Houzz Pro I'm able to manage my customers and projects with efficiency and stay highly organized. Using the takeoffs side of the program I have been able to develop standards in my estimating and templates to speed up the process. Cons The customer section is built for working with one client per project. I'm a deconstruction subcontractor that works with big General contractors that have multiple project managers, and estimators that I work with. That part gets complicated for me at times. Pros We use Houzz Pro to track FFE project selections, such as plumbing fixtures, furniture, etc. I love that I can use their clipper and easily add to specific rooms in my projects and easily create boards and selections for client approvals. The process of selection to invoicing is easy and helps us be more productive. Cons We also invoice for projects out of Houzz Pro. I do wish I could pay the transaction fees for bank drafts but have my clients pay the transaction fees for credit cards. I feel that would allow us to get paid by our clients sooner. OWNER Design Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "FROM IVY TO HOUZZ" July 16, 2024 3.0 I have had some good experiences with very kind and patient people, and lots of frustrating experiences navigating through the many layers and steps. Finding where some pieces are located is not intuitive, nor is locating where to ask for the right department for help. Pros I appreciated that the proposal through invoicing process was virtually the same so that I could keep moving forward with my business. However, since I joined in early June and I am still waiting for my onboarding appointment with my dedicated account rep and I have LOTS of questions. Cons There is a lot of feedback requested and very few intuitive places to respond with few "call to action" buttons and no "reply buttons" on emails. I also answered a call while driving and it was not an actual person, but a recording that sounded exactly like a prerecorded voice mail. The recording said that he wanted to learn all about my business and talked way too fast. But there was no way to respond and no way to write anything down since I was driving. Reason for choosing Houzz Pro I liked the idea of having one place where my accounting and marketing could be together. I was drawn to that level of functionality. The ability to scan a room with my Ipad, get accurate measurements and a floorplan in a matter of minutes, and use that floorplan to create an estimate via takeoffs is a game changer. Cons The only thing there was not to like about Houzz Pro was the cost, but all the features make it worth it for anyone serious in the construction business. I like Houzz with all its tools & customer support. There's still a way to pave but they're getting there! Pros First & foremost, I liked the fact that Houzz Pro combines design & project management tools in the same platform! It is good for its comprehensive set of instruments designed specifically for home design & remodeling professionals like myself. It offered me strong project management tools that helped me organize & track all aspects of my projects, from initial client contact to final invoicing. Cons As an Interior Designer using Houzz Pro, I found the cost of the platform, the learning curve for my new interns & the delays in responses (difficulty in getting timely assistance) are real drawbacks of Houzz Pro. Design tools have glitches all the time. It frustrated me in the beginning especially with client's appointments for presentations. I made it a habit to contact my Account Manager in order for him to raise the issue to the technical team. That usually took time to fix, nonetheless they're rallying to get better at it. Pros Aucun, je me suis abonnée pour avoir de la visibilité que je n'ai pas eu et j'ai testé les logiciels qui étaient inclus dans mon abonnement : je les ai trouvé basiques et peu pratiques en comparaison avec ceux que j'utilise dans mon activité, sauf le clipper quand il marche. (bcp de bugs) Cons Tous. J'ai souhaité adhérer à Houzz car c'est un annuaire bien référencé sur Google. Pour débuter mon activité, je me suis laissée convaincre par les belles promesses du commercial. Résultat au bout d'une année je n'ai décroché qu'1 seul petit projet à 245€ (et d'ailleurs à la fin de mon abonnement). Je suis persuadée que la plupart des projets que j'ai reçus sont des faux, disons à 80% (spams ou impossible de contacter les demandeurs que ce soit par téléphone, mail et sms). Les autres sont des projets irréalisables soit pas du tout dans mon secteur, soit fantaisistes avec des délais impossibles et/ou des budgets ridicules. Bref je veux bien croire que cela arrive de temps en temps mais pas systématiquement 2 x fois par mois sur tous les projets. Je vous laisse juge. I also like the opportunity to have tools like the online payments the 3-D floorplans and the scan on the rooms that it’s easy to use and gives your client more credibility on your business Pros I think what I like the most is the customer service and support .
