It has enabled me to build and maintain Australia’s largest collection of hiking trail listings with reliability and efficiency. The software has grown with my site over the years, offering both flexibility and the scalability I need to manage thousands of entries. While the setup can be complex, the long-term payoff is immense. It has truly become an indispensable part of Trail Hiking Australia. Pros GeoDirectory has been the backbone of my Trail Hiking Australia website, powering the listing of over 3,700 hiking trails across the country. Its flexibility, scalability, and rich feature set make it an incredibly powerful directory solution. The ability to handle large volumes of listings, provide advanced search and filtering, and integrate with WordPress seamlessly has been outstanding. It’s a robust platform that makes complex directory management surprisingly easy. Cons There is a bit of a learning curve at the start, especially when configuring more advanced features and integrations. For newcomers, it may feel overwhelming to unlock its full potential. Pros GeoDirectory is a comprehensive, deeply integrated plugin that is perfect for small or large directories, from local restaurants to a worldwide category search site. The support is unbelievably awesome, with fast, personalized responses. Cons There is a bit of a learning curve due to its depth of features. However, all of the negatives that I've experienced with this plugin since first subscribing almost 8 years ago have been addressed and improved by the developers. Reason for choosing GeoDirectory Most other options that I tried when about to launch my site were more designed for a company to list its own branches or were themes with special functions. MD Music Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Better than expected" October 15, 2022 4.0 Pros The design options and functionality are amazing. Makes it look and feel like a totally bespoke build. Being able to build the front end “add listing” forms is really intuitive and packed with options. Cons This is a really feature packed product that is very flexible so does have a learning curve. That’s not a negative as it is really flexible to build a great directory. But because it is so feature packed, it would be useful to have a manual for each element and addon within the plug-in dashboard. There are many support articles and chats and support is great but being able to look at a manual whilst in the backend of WP would be pretty helpful. Reason for choosing GeoDirectory The pre sales support was great and was a big decider for us. After sales support is just as great, you feel they care and want to get you sorted as quick possible. Sole Director Design Used the software for: 2+ years ### "My best choice to build up a very large directory" October 16, 2022 5.0 I have adopted GeoDirectory for my main online project since 2019 and am totally happy with it: - fast support - flexible configuration - lots of very useful add-ons The learning curve is a bit steep, due to the deep configurability of the plugin, but once you understand how it works you can create very complex schemes that lead to great results, both for indexing on search engines and for the economic return model. My actual project holds about eight hundreds (764) ads, 7 custom post types with 7 plans each (both free and paid), an integration with WooCommerce and it's growing day by day :-) I am planning to use it for a couple of world-wide projects due to the ability to contain so many and complex data for each ad. Pros The high level of customization possibilities and flexibility are the strengths of this software. There are ready to use demos with different purposes that help starting a project in no time. Cons The learning curve is a little steep and must be kept in consideration if you want to customize deeply your project or start from scratch. The documentation can be improved and a customer forum would be much helpful. It has also allowed me to expand my offerings to my users beyond just a directory enabling me to run a fully-functional, broad-based business. Pros The software allows you to build a simple, city-based directory site or an expansive global one. You can incorporate user reviews, ecommerce capability and advanced search functionality, all compatible with the latest themes and site builders. It is truly the Swiss Army knife of directory software and I have trusted my business to it. The developers are responsive when you are in a jam, the documentation is extensive, and they are continuously adding to and improving the software. I have reviewed many options in the directory software space and in my opinion, this is by far the best directory software available today. Cons Because the software is so expandable and has so many options, it does take some time to set up your directory to where you are happy with it. But this is also what makes it so powerful. Pros They keep developing the product. Innovation has not stalled. Cons It takes a while to learn how to use it. I just started my own business directory with it and everything seems very nice. Pros Almost endless features as could be made custom post types with custom fields and also links between them. Cons Event calendar function is not looking good. Reason for choosing GeoDirectory I don't remember how many and which plugins did I checked, but in everyone I saw cons. I started working with this one and with the time I spend I saw how many possibilities it has. Also I liked it because It's a plugin which work with every theme that I choose. Pros This software let me set up and manage two websites with very different features and focuses while having has no experience in wordpress or web development prior. Cons The software is so comprehensive and updated that it is sometimes hard to find the appropriate document to help with a particular problem. It makes it easy for my customers to pick a place they want to find by their area. Pros It’s easy to use. It’s so needed for my 2 online companies. Both business my clients need to search by area when looking for an in person class. Cons There was 2 places that were not found in our area. Pros It solves the problem of launching a full-featured directory app in days not years. Cons The payment portal.
