They’re not an “instant reply 24/7” service, especially outside weekdays, but when they do respond it’s clear they’ve actually read the question. The answers are thoughtful, they try to solve the problem properly, and when something isn’t part of the product direction they explain the reasoning rather than fobbing you off. Because it’s a feature-heavy plugin, I’ve ended up doing a bit of fine-tuning with PHP/CSS (sometimes using AI tools to speed things up). That hasn’t bothered me — in my experience with more advanced software, a little tailoring is normal if you want everything exactly right. I also understand from my own time working in software (I spent 18 months at Oracle as an associate software engineer) that complex products always have a backlog, and that new releases can occasionally introduce unexpected issues. What matters is whether the team keeps improving, listens to users, and stands behind the product — and that’s been my experience here. Overall, I’m happy to continue using Amelia and I expect it will keep improving over time. Pros What I really like is how polished and configurable it is. The front-end looks professional out of the box, and there’s plenty of flexibility to tailor the booking experience to suit your business rather than forcing you into one rigid layout Cons We use Amelia for Events but the default is always Appointments I wish you could chose to default to Events. Real value for money" November 3, 2025 5.0 Really quick installation of the plugin. In addition the configuration was easy and very intuitive. After I couldn't get a service to activate I contacted support which answered over the weekend, which was followed up by xustomer support today. All in all excellent experience, and I would strongly advice non-developers to use this plugin! Pros Loved the ease of installation and the customer support after I ran into problems, such a big improvement from the Calendly plugin I used previously! Would strongly recommend adding this to your website! They have only thought about the platform from a platform perspective and have not thought about the actual use case. You can set up multiple branches and have numerous employees but there is no function for a branch manager view, you cannot look at the calendar and get a full view of the branches appointments for the day. Pros The price is reasonable compared with some other booking platforms however despite selling the platform like it can handle complex booking solutions it cannot really Cons The sell it has a system that can handle complex businesses but it cannot. Great from small companies but the more complex the business the less it works. There is no receptionist / practice manager view. Becomes difficult to use the more branches and more employees you have. The calendar views are not user friendly. Team members cannot see each others appointments UNLESS you give them full admin access to your entire backend of your website. It makes bookings so much easier and the platform its great overall. Pros It's so easy to add services and create slots for your bookings. Also, the support team is great and always willing to help you. Cons The rebooking process its a bit confusing to set up in the backend. I no longer use Amelia and I won't renew the yearly license this summer. Pros It's still a great way to book appointment within wordpress. It integrates with my website ui and does the job. Cons In the last year I had some major bugs- especiialy with the automated reminders. Some of the clients reported bugs while trying book new appointments and lots of time I had to manually doing client bookings. I can say that the support team really tried to be helpful, but unfortunately I decided to move to another solution. I can add that some major issues that I found important to make the app better weren't part of a major upgrade they did this year, including the ability to use my phone number as the whatsapp tool for the clients (so they will be able to text back). For me it was really important to have events & appointments in one plugin as well as the possibility of a lifetime licence rather than subscriptions models. The plugin has some quirks and missing features (event tickets & dedicated pages per event rather than popups …), but the support has always been helpful and dedicated to fix any issues I’ve run into. Pros \- Ability to manage both events & appointments - integrated payment solutions & integration with woocommerce - decent costumisation options - very dedicated support - lifetime licence rather than yearly subscription Cons \- some missing features (but development continues) - sometimes unintuitive ui - somewhat lacking documentaion Review Source KF Kevin F. Setup and customization was easy and quite good. However, what was even better than the extensive capabilities of the plugin, was their support. They're responsive, patient, and thorough. Even when some of the issue was due to my configuration mistake, they kept pushing to find a solution and wanted to ensure I was successful. Hands down the best experience from a WordPress plugin provider that I have ever seen. Pros Hands down it is their excellent support. While you hope you never need to contact support, it's good to know that when you do you're going to get the help you need. A close second is the calendar & appointment scheduling experience as it's intuitive and easy to customize. Cons I would say the the presentation of the providers and the detailed provider profile view. It's important to note here that these areas are also very customizable and, for most use cases, are likely completely fine. However, we were replacing an existing experience where the presentation of providers, and their detailed profile, was all custom developed and fit into our existing site design perfectly. However, the default experience is still quite good, just wasn't what we needed. This was okay because we decided to leverage their extensive API for keeping our custom presentation while still using the plugin for calendar, scheduling, appointment management, and all of the other excellent features. Pros I have so many positive things to say about it. From the pricing, all the way through to configuring it and also how reliable and stable it is.Simple things such as being able to create an event and have the option to recur each booking whilst treating the individual event dates as separate events (For example a fitness class that happens at the same time every week, but doesn't always have the same attendees) – saves hours of admin time of creating events. But also at the same time having the option to add a series of events (such as a 4 week course) that a user pays once for and has access to all events at once is invaluable from a management perspective.Amelia also handles scheduling and working hours like a dream. Being able to pick Employees' individual services, working hours, time off and 'special days' is just fantastic from a management perspective.The packages option, combined with the step-by-step customer booking form has been optimised for conversion out of the box. It converts, and it does it whilst looking great.Not only is the frontend slick, organised and good looking – so is the management side. It's been an absolute pleasure configuring the plugin and learning how customisable it is along the way. Not only that, it's really really fast to make changes. I got a new client site set up from nothing to complete and live in 3 daysThe customer support so far has been good, and the fact they offer a lifetime license is an excellent move. Cons I have a few suggestions that will make the plugin better:1. Being able to add packages for Events and not just Appointments – so the user can sign up for a monthly pass that gives them access to x amount of classes, or unlimited classes. 2. Built-in customer subscriptions. Amelia can be set up to work with WooCommerce's checkout and handle subscriptions, memberships etc – but I want that seamless checkout experience that you get without redirecting to WooCommerce or having another plugin installed. Being able to offer a subscription at point of sale would be fantastic. Even just having a 'recurring' package that charges the user every month.3. Please, please add native Apple Pay integration into the Stripe payment gateway. Mollie supports Apple Pay but they are a nightmare to deal with unless you are in a specific industry or in a specific country. I just couldn't believe what I bought for the price of a dinner.... Pros I thought I was buying a CHEAP product. What I got instead was an AWESOME high quality full-featured quickly expanding product that offers the right way to organize the back end. Their support is amazing too, not just answering questions and showing how to set stuff up, but down to sending custom code to make minor tweaks possible. I run my entire business on it, and it's literally invaluable to me. I couldn't praise them more highly or recommend them more. Cons They add features all the time. A lot. Frequently. Sometimes it feels I need a "recap" of all the new things Amelia can do, like on a TV show, just to remember to take advantage of all it can do.
