I know of the quirks so I don't mind using it now. The customization options are a huge plus. Their support team is the best that I've ever had to deal with. They don't shut the door if they hear you hint at asking help for customizing something like 90% other support teams do. I really do appreciate that in highly recommend them just for the support they give you. Pros I like how it came styled out of the box. I really liked the customizable options that they provide you to brand the booking process. They even allow you to customize all of the email templates that get sent to the employee and for the customers while letting you create your own templates. The same goes for text message notifications. I really like how employees can edit their own calendars/hours from the front end instead of the backend. The support team is amazing. Very friendly and helpful. Cons I have gotten frustrated with their email templates not saving correctly and taking out spaces between random words and making my email grammar look like a ten year old written them. Their dynamic email shortcodes will get messed up when using a third party transactional email service but that could be the fault of the email system too. The frontend method for employees to add their schedule needs a major overhaul as it is very unintuitive. They use military time instead of standard time for ONLY the employee schedule area but as soon as you save the time, it converts it to standard time. Not sure why military time is in there at all since it has messed up many employees scheduling entries. The calendar booking steps (version 1.0) hides the calendar to see bookings randomly forcing you to click on an out of place "filter" looking icon to make the calendar show up. The calendar is the most important thing to have on the "book by calendar" shortcode option so not sure why it disappears sometimes. Speaking of that calendar, it is not responsive to smaller screen sizes. Owner Alternative Medicine Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Amelia - The beautiful and easy interface for online appointment booking" April 30, 2022 5.0 I've not been using Amelia for very long, but I'm happier with it than my previous booking solution, primarily because the interface is more attractive, and because I can integrate with Zoom. I also like that it's a one-time payment with no additional cost for use. In the first few bookings, it had already paid for itself. Pros I like the beautiful interface that is customisable so it has the same colours as the rest of my website. I love the Google calendar integration and Zoom integration. Those are musts in my line of work, and they save me a lot of time. Cons I wish the appointments would show up on my Google calendar and Zoom meetings list with the name of the customer who booked the appointment. I like to look at my appointments at a glance and know who I'm meeting. It's a bit of a pain to have to go into the calendar and add them myself. I also wish that it was possible to have the same employee with more than one location assigned them. I work by phone, Zoom and at my downtown office location, and I had one client who booked me for a Zoom session say she found it confusing that my office was listed for location when she received her booking. I had to modify my location to include all three as possibilities, which just isn't a very clean approach. When we book our clients, we want everything to be crystal clear with no possibility for confusion. Amelia should bear in mind that in some cases, such as salons or yoga studios for example, their employees might float between more than one location, so this feature would be useful to a number of businesses. Reason for choosing Amelia I liked that Amelia was a one-time purchase, and I found it to be the most robust program in terms of integrations, and the ability to modify it to create a look that reflected the aesthetic of my website. It does cover a lot of important bases. Also after a learning curve it is rather easy to use. Like its color and branding customisation. Reminding emails have already been my lifesaver. Cons I would like to have an option that the same paying customer (in my case a parent) can book a service for different children under his/her own name and email address and not to exercise with different emails for each child. I also use a virtual office and would love to have an option to add it as a proper official location. For the time being it is required to only give a physical one. November 23, 2021 1.0 Because I have yet heard from the company, I hope someone from their sales team will see this post. The website says if you request a refund within 15days they will consider...however I still have not heard from them after sending 2 ticket requests nor received a refund. I do not even receive a confirmation when I send them a ticket. Until I hear back from the company, I would not recommend this to anyone. AMELIA PLEASE CONTACT ME FOR A REFUND!!! Cons I spent over 8 hours walking through each tutorial to set up 2 way calendar sync, Zoom integration with notifications in my WP website. I was a bit weary because I read other reviews saying they had a lot of troubleshooting errors and problems with getting everting synced with their calendars correctly. The Amelia tutorials were really extensive and also vague in some areas. They insinuated if something doesn't work...then contact the third party or contact your google administrator. RED FLAGS!! My first attempt after setting everything up and I had multiple issues...calendar did not sync, nor did it send notifications. So I tried to reach out to Support last Thursday...and still no reply. I finally decided to try the Calendly free version. Within 30min I had all my calendar integration with zoom and notification up and working with no problem. I'm sure this plugin will work if you have hours of troubleshooting time and help with a web developer...but after seeing how fast Calendly set everything up, I'm sold. I have no problem with using Amelia plugin so far, it is stable and reliable. Pros It is very important to me to manage time as a consultant. The core function of Amelia plugin is booking appointment, it provides me a very easy way to check my clients' appointment and it also syncs with my Google calendar. The installation process was a breeze, and the intuitive user interface made it simple to configure all the settings and get up and running in no time at all. On top of all that, WP Amelia's performance is rock-solid. I never have to worry about downtime or slow loading times, even during peak traffic hours. And if I ever do have any questions or issues, the support team is always there to help out.I use Amelia on a bilingual site together with WPML language plugin, and that works fine. Also, the integration of caching plugins such as WP Rocket is smooth and has not caused any issues. Pros What really sets WP Amelia apart is its richness of functionality. Despite not beeing written to cater for a specific industry, this plugin has almost every feature I need, from customizable booking forms to flexible payment options to detailed appointment scheduling and management. It does exactly the job we need it for and does it perfectly. Both the appointment booking and the event booking are amazing. I have used them both on several occasions. The first is a mobile massage company site, and the second is an online nutritionist site. For both the massage and the nutritionist site, the ability for clients to have their own customer panel and schedule and reschedule their appointments if necessary is fantastic. The package feature and Integration with Zoom for the nutritionist site is perfect for the client's needs. The Amelia plugin is a joy to use and set up. I love using it and will definitely use it again for other clients Pros Very easy to use. Has lots of features and is easy to integrate with other services. Has features that are hard to find in other similar software. I love the packages feature, I like that it has a customer and employee panel. Integration with Zoom, Woocommerce and Google calendar is really useful. The interfaces both front and backend are beautiful. I love the fact that customers can schedule their own appointments when buying packages. This software really does have everything that you need. Cons The customer support could be a bit faster in responding. Although it isn't a deal-breaker. The ability to customise the form fields for booking could be a little bit better, so that information captured when the client first booked an appointment could be retained somewhere, again, not a deal-breaker. The ability to customise the styling of the front end booking forms could be more extensive. Reason for choosing Amelia The packages - I couldn't find any other booking plugin that had this functionality whereby users could schedule their own appointments after buying a package. The price - There really isn't anything out there that has the same features for the price and without being tied down to monthly subscriptions. The integrations - integration with Zoom, Woocommerce, and being able to sync with Google calendar, SMS notifications - it is so professional when a user receives an SMS notification. Pros Easy to set up and configure....even for complete novices like I am. They have great supporting documentation, and customizability is just perfect. The company stands by their money back promise....I accidently requested a refund....but ended up purchasing the next day again. The issue was on my side not theirs, yet they kept their promise without delay. They have awesome support, and technical support...with a willingness to help you sort your problem out. Trust me....the Amelia product makes life much easier....and gets clients to book. Don't waste time on other plugins. This works very well, and saves a great deal of time, while at the same time looking good. June 23, 2022 5.0 I love the booking system from Amelia, it's really easy to use and set up. It has great integrations with payment systems and calendars and even enables SMS/text notifications. Best of all is the support that's professional and quickly reactive to issues that always occur in software development, having to be compatible with so many other plugins. Pros easy booking, reasonable price, good integrations, good support. Cons Old version that was updated now was a bit harder to book with, the list of my treatments did get very long, also people found it hard to spot a scrollbar for the appt. times. I really had issues for a while and if I didn't have a back up internetsite my business would have been in much trouble. The best solution it seemed was to rebuild my internetsite from scratch (and later also the second one). And yes, there are no issues anymore. So it could be that the releases during this last year already made it more stable? Overall I am very happy with the final functionality. Pros Amelia has all I need as a one-man organisation. The scheduling, payment, emails, Zoom-integration it is really a lot and is nicely integrated. Next to that it is easy to customise and it is affordable. Also throughout the last year the functionality grew, which is great! Cons The moment I implemented the software my site broke down. Now this wasn't the worst for me, because I had two sites. Though the issue stayed for weeks. I had a lot of communication with the service department, provider and theme developer. In the end I don't know where the actual issue was: the database version, an underdeveloped theme or Amelia? For sure it was a combination. I guess Amelia is built on the latest versions of wordpress and databases. If there is a tip: be aware of this. Nevertheless I am now very happy with the working of the software.
