New Horizon helped us solve forecasting issues. We did not have the ability to forward plan efficiently before, or do any scenario planning. It has also solved our issues with manual PO planning, as we are now able to review recommended orders based on current demand and forecasted sales, as well as SS targets and vendor minimums. It has drastically reduced the amount of time spent on issuing PO's.

Pros

The efficiency of building orders and managing the demand planning on different levels (i.e. category, vendor, item level).

Cons

The system is not able to take shelf life into account.

The experience with New Horizon has been excellent so far. The tool provides accurate forecasting and purchase order recommendations which has allowed us to produce better results while saving significant time.

Pros

I really like the maintenance capability of the tool. We deal with a lot of transitions and changes with our customers and this provides us a quick solution to link items to each other and stop us from ordering something for a period of time without having to write it down somewhere and remember to manually remove it from an order. This has proven to be a significant time savings for our team compared to what we were using previously.

Cons

The only thing that I would call out would be the ordering of slow moving items. The tool does a great job with what it recommends for orders for 98% of the items we deal with, but with the real slow moving items, we find that we have to manually add these to the orders.

The AU team is fantastic and very alert to our needs. They have been able to do many enhancements to allow the product to work for our specific needs.

Pros

The software sits on the cloud. No more server or database to maintain. The tool is Excel like and our users love to be able to export so easily into Excel. I love the fact that you can bring up one worksheet and you can do everything from a single source.

Cons

The only con would be that it is slower to open the worksheets. However as mentioned above you can do everything from one worksheet.

New Horizon software has given us the ability to sift through massive amounts of sales data and formulate accurate forecasts. The customer service was great and they are continually customizing the system to match our needs. As a user we also have the freedom to change our forecasting models based on the conditions of our products. Overall experience was great and would recommend the software to anyone.

Pros

The software was very easy to use as it utilizes Excel platform and is easy to export and manipulate data if necessary. The integration from our old Demantra software was the best transition I have ever been apart of which only took about 30 days and was mostly done in the background while using current software. The customer service from our implementers was also great as they were willing to customize the software to our needs and made any changes very quickly usually the same day.

Cons

The only downside to the software is that it was a little slower than Demantra but is not very noticeable once you have gotten use to the speed. This speed is offset by the amount of data that New Horizon can handle which causes the slower speed.

Reasons for choosing New Horizon

The software company implementing New Horizon software (Analytics United) is a very trusted source and we had a track record with them as being very competent and accommodating. The lower cost was also a large factor in determining which software we were going to purchase. The information is also cloud based reducing the need for more servers and maintenance.
