Pros I do like that it prices everything for you. Cons There are still many errors in the labeling or wording. I have also found pricing issues. When I find issues, I send them to Green City (usually about once a month) to let them know. It is very hard to find accessories. The catalog wording isn't always the same as in Cabentry. Sometimes the search doesn't work and we end up putting in a custom charge. Sometimes I feel that it would be faster to price things by hand like I used to do than to have to put in every detail before I can even start pricing. I find things a little redundant when the cabinet description shows the modification in red, and then it is also listed below with the modifications. CAD Designer Design Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Cabentry is GREAT!!" March 10, 2020 5.0 This has made our custom ordering so much simpler and comprehensive. Any time I have had an software issue Cabentry has been quick to provide answers and/or solutions. They are wonderful to work with. Pros Very easy to use and get accurate pricing for custom products. It was simple to learn and the form that needs filled out gives the cabinet company a very accurate description of what we are requesting. The most important requirements and frequently used modifications such as finished end choices etc. are all on the first page. Subsequent tabs for accessories and other modifications make it easy to remember to include that information. Cons I would like a better way to sort, save or rename the projects. The search aspect works fine if you know exactly what it was named but if not you are sunk. There is no way to rename a project that I can find. I am not really sure where they are saved. I would also like to be able to copy a room and it's cabinetry then be able to save it as an additional project. We have several times done a kitchen and a laundry then had the customer say they want to wait on the laundry. It would be nice to save that portion as a different project rather than delete it and have to re-enter everything. Review Source Response from Cabentry March 12, 2020 Thanks for the review! I'm glad to hear you are seeing the benefits being able to accurately price your own jobs. You mentioned you were not able to rename a job. You can rename and create multiple versions of an order by doing a "Save As" and using a different name. CH Cristy H. I feel that this software is suitable for a full custom cabinet line. I think it would be good to use on a Semi Custom line though. Pros I liked that it does all the math for you and I don't have to hand write my orders when I use this ordering process. Cons I don't like how I have to look things up in the companies catalog. It is VERY time consuming and I actually think I can hand write an order quicker than using Cabentry because it is NOT user friendly. Pros The pricing is pretty correct for the most part, and it knows when I'm to add glass or mirror and calculators the total. Cons I wish you could delete lines of cabinet together, instead of one at time. For the first option, you could do a "save as" and then change the job to see the differences. Secondly, you can click "copy room" and be sure to check the box that says include cabinets with room. Estimator Design Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "My personal thoughts" March 9, 2020 4.0 Overall it has been good Pros Overall the system is easy to use. For a first time user people seem to find there way though the system and are able to use it. You just have to tell them to think of using old programs. The simplicity of the program makes it good and sometimes difficult for new users. Over all a simple program to use. I like that it clicked based and not drag and drop based. Cons The first aspect that is a con is the room profile window and cabinet profile. If you are in one room only those cabinets should be shown in the Cabinet profile window. The next big con is how many windows to choose add-ons. Then if you choose the wrong one that you have to go all the way though the system to choose the correct one. Pros i love that you can search for inserts. i love that it shows a preview image. i love that it calculates our cost. i love the detailed packet it prints out. very user friendly. Cons i wish there was a way to import my 2020 drawing into cabentry so i didn't have to do every quote twice. it's already time consuming to draw it up, but to have to type out each cabinet after doing all the design work takes up a nice chunk of time. i'd also like it if the entire rev a shelf catalog was imported into cabentry. We let the manufacturer decide which Rev-a-Shelf products they want to include in their catalog so if their is a certain product you would like to see added, send your manufacturer a note and they can get it added very easily.. I understand that you make product for others, however showing graphics would be a definite plus. Pros Cabentry is very user-friendly and saves us a substantial amount of time in pricing our designs/orders Cons Because 90% of what we do falls into the 'custom' category, cabentry does not always allow us to select the modifications/ finish techniques/ door styles that we want to price or order. Pros We have a very custom amish built cabinet company that had a excel pricing sheet that was impossible to do quickly or even accurately. I find this to be an easy to learn and use program. Pros I love that it quotes the pieces you need and you can write notes so you can communicate to the manufacture. Cons When typing out a skew, I can't type the entire skew out. You have to type just a few words of it then select with the curser which one you want. I think if I could utilize my keyboard only, it would save some time. Pros Very easy to use and I love how quick and easy it is to change something to get a revised quote. Cons Not that I don't "like" it, but it would be easier and quicker if you could select an item from the Accessories or Modifications Search box instead of copying the nomenclature and putting it in the Accessories or Modifications box.
