Pros It is a great software that has several templates and export formats that allow you to map out just about anything. Cons It is not available for mac or Linux which don't make it versatile and a little bit pricey. It is a little confusing also if you are trying to create a large document with it. Pros Microsoft Vision has a lot of built-in templates collection that make it a lot easier to create diagrams or business process flows. Cons To use the advanced features a license needs to be purchased which can be quite costly for small businesses. For our purposes, we create several process flows which can then be shared with colleagues. Cons The hardest part of the software is learning how to maximize all the functionality. Pros Vision has a comprehensive and wide-array of templates' library embeded into it. It also has great integrations with other Microsoft solutions installed on the same PC. It proves to be the best diagramming and visualizing soluition for processes & operational flows. Cons One main issues I am facing with Visio is that there is no live chat or phone support when I havbe something to inquire or need support with. Moreover, the price of Visio is on the high side, and for me it is not justifiable being a recurrent monthly payment per user from $5 to around $18/month. Review Source JJ Jason J. The software itself is clearly very powerful with many options and possibilities. Our team has used it to design a very impressive-looking systems architecture poster among other things, but there are a few things that aren't very user-friendly. One useful feature with Office 365 is that other team members could easily pick up where you left off. Cons To start off, there are very few guides online for using Visio, and because each use case could vastly differ, it's hard to ask the right questions or find the right people to help you. The actual manipulation of components is quite confusing and frustrating - moving one item could completely mess up the organization of what you had worked on for hours beforehand and the overall program is impossibly difficult to learn how to use. For one project, it took two of us working back to back for 2 weeks to complete even though the actual task was not difficult at all. Review Source KM Kyler M. Cons Software can be a bit cumbersome when trying to learn all of the ins and outs of it. Pros I can design easily software architecture diagrams. The diagram can be small or large without any limitation! Cons One thing that I like least about visio is the connector. With new features, it's even easier to create beautiful flowcharts and diagrams. It has some of the greatest collaboration features I have seen on any software of this kind. It allows multiple team members to work on the same document from different devices at the same time. It also integrates well with real-time data sources. Pros I like that I can create and edit diagrams in my preferred browser. Anything that I create can be shared securely in multiple ways. You also have the capability to make comments online in real time. Cons The storage you are allowed is limiting. This software offers online plans only that I could find and they can get pricey. The functions that I need in order to share items with volunteers requires me to get the more advanced version, which in turn is more expensive even though I only need one or two of the additional features that this plan offers.
