It is nice to be able to export these and share with those who do not have Visio. Cons There is a bit of a learning curve; I have found this to be especially so with working with layers and connectors. It would be nice to have this included as part of the MS Office suite, rather than as a stand-alone application. This would make it feasible to be deployed throughout more of the organization. I find that it's very easy to use, and the diagrams and charts look pretty too. Cons Even though it's a great tool, it's not cheap. Its professional edition is almost twice the price of its standard. Also, it's only available on Windows OS, no luck for macOS users. It's hard to learn at first but if you're familiar with Microsoft Word and using the shapes and graphs there it won't be an issue. Cons As mentioned, it's difficult to learn the first time. Pros I was introduced to Visio by a co-worker who used the product to create hilarious infographics for the office. Over the last seven years I've used it's simple drag-and-drop, layering functionality for floor plans, flowcharts, infographics, and instruction manual graphics. there really is no limit to what you can create, and it has all of the bells and whistles you would expect from a Microsoft product. Being an IT person, I've used it for network diagrams, as well as building layouts (showing which ports go to which desks, etc.) I like the flexibility of the product, and how you can import different stencils in to make things more accurate. I know a lot of non-IT personnel will use it for things like Organizational Charts, etc. Cons My only real complaint about visio is that in my opinion, it is not very user friendly, at least not up front.
