The free plan is good enough for a Gmail replacement, but the paid plans give you access to many other services like a calendar, file storage, vpn, and more. Pros This is an excellent option for your personal email account. No ads, and completely secure when emailing other Proton accounts. This service has also consistently improved over time and has grown into an entire suite of privacy focused services. Cons You lose most of the security when sending email to accounts outside of ProtonMail. Certain conveniences have to be sacrificed though, and the software could be improved. And you can feel even in the free version, that you have a real quality product. Pros The free version is very powerful, you have everything you need. However, in the pro version you have more storage space, the mail is faster and the technical support works great. Cons In some countries it does not work, you must use a VPN to be able to update the mail. Only in the free version, the delivery time is slower. Pros Lo que más me gusta de ProtonMail es sin lugar a dudas la función de correo protegido para que solo lo pueda ver el destinatario, es una pena que deba usar también ProtonMail, pero en la empresa se puede usar como correo seguro sin riesgo de filtraciones o de intrusiones. Cons Sigo sin acostumbrarme a los shortcuts, por mucho que te ponga la leyenda (los comandos), a veces generan conflicto con el navegador por el uso de ciertos comandos y al final acabas haciéndolo a base de click todo. Al momento, dopo un utilizzo prolungato, peraltro non mi è ancora arrivata una sola mail di spam. Pros L'interfaccia è molto semplice e ben si presta ad un utilizzo user friendly nella gestione dei messaggi. Permette, inoltre, una buona sicurezza ed i messaggi pubblicitari che vengono inviati dal provider del servizio a fini comunicativi sono solo un paio al mese. Cons Tarda algunos segundos en actualizarse cuando llega un correo nuevo y los atajos no son muy intuitivos, por ejemplo, suprimir, que en todos los programas suprime el correo, no es el atajo para borrar un correo que ya no necesitas. Pros Like many people, the most I like most about this product is the secured and encrypted email service. The user interface is very minimal and does not distract you. Cons You cannot search your emails by their content because the emails are encrypted. Many useful features are also locked behind a paywall. The security it provides is it's greatest feature. So, if you are concerned about security and privacy of your mails, you might want to look at Protonmail, but otherwise you'd do just fine with any provider. They have an Android app which is the only client that I've ever been able to make use of to access the service, and you can use browsers too, apart from those, nothing else has worked when I tried on mobile phones. I guess it's for security reasons, and probably intentional. Cons The free version is limited in features. If you want to enjoy the complete features of the app, you probably need to upgrade. Pros I like the privacy, but the web interface is clunky and requires a mail client of some sort. That requires the Protonmail Bridge which is ok - but an extra step to install. Cons For most problems, customer service is ok. But when you run into some difficult, you discover there is NO phone support. When you file a "bug report" you get a response, and usually a tech will response via email in 24 hours. But if the problem is not immediately solved, one email response per day appears to be the maximum they will do. Something that is not easily resolved may take days. However, the search function needs to be addressed pronto. Pros The fact that it is end-to-end encrypted and that the servers are based in Switzerland is what led me to Protonmail. The user interface is quite slick and comparable to Gmail. Cons The search functionality is a work in progress. The search only looks at the from/to addresses and the subject lines. This has been the worst company ever. There’s no customer service number. They ask for your info to open your account. I answered all of their questions and my account is still closed. I am still paying for the service. Pros Nothing that I can think of. It is cheap Cons Proton customer service is terrible. I can’t get a hold of anyone. There isn’t a phone number for me to call. They shut down my email and I answered their questions. I am going to look at transferring my email provider to someone else. I have sensitive information saved in my email and I told them that. They don’t care! Pros I was looking for a good and safe email app that gives me the possibility to send encrypted emails to my customers. ProtonMail is the ultimate tool to do that. After the trial I payes for a subscription and integrated the mail functions with my domain name. I also got ProtonDrive, ProtonVPN and the ProtonCalendar, all secure. Now I send my invoices in a safe way without fear of interception and altering. Cons I found no flaws that I like least about ProtonMail. Perhaps the possiblility of integration of ProtonDrive in my Explorer, but I think that will come soon.
