Value for Money: Great. Customer Support: Was great. Documentation and Forum: Help developers and make work easier. Secure Platform. Solving issues and fixing bugs is really quick in the event sheet. Support for JS and TS scripts is really good to integrate 3rd-party options into the game. Pros I really like Construct 3 because with the event sheet, making games is super easy. The on-tap behavior system helps a lot, and any object can quickly turn into a game element in just seconds. Cons Honestly, nothing really bad since Construct 3 can make almost any game perfectly, but yes, there are some limitations with online multiplayer and currently in 3D development. Animation Used the software for: 2+ years ### "What I think about Construct 3, and also my experience with it" September 19, 2025 3.0 My experience with Construct 3 was nice for the most part, but limited in things I actually could do with the limited version, since I've never had enough money to pay monthly nor yearly. Without the full version of the engine, I had to settle on making short, limited, silly little games and experiments. Now, I consider Construct 3 as a stepping stone for my transition to Godot 4.5 that in my opinion, is far superior that Construct. Not only for the capabilities, but specially for the price that must be paid to use the engine, because Godot is free, and therefore accessible and better. Pros I like the simplicity of the program, which permits users to create games, even if they do not know anything about code, and it's easy to locate objects and elements present in the engine. The animation editor is great, which also comes with a ton of tools for making sprites for objects in games. Sprites are also not separate from objects, as the objects are the sprites, basically. Construct operates in multiple platforms too, including consoles, which I think it's pretty cool, also for including an option for controlling characters using gaming controllers. Cons I do not like that it mostly works when online, and I condemn and loathe the fact that the free version is extremely limited, even for registered users, and both monthly and yearly subscriptions for the full version are a bit too expensive. There are also one very specific bug, even in stable versions, which really annoys me, and happens once in a while: while trying to zoom, the layout isn't zoomed out like it is supposed to, it remains static until I click any object on the scene and the camera is blown away from it by kilometres. Construct 3 is also limited on doing 2D games, while the only prominent type of 3D games which making in Construct is possible are FPS games styled after classic Doom. Review Source AN Anderson N. I can do everything I want simply and easily. In my opinion, it deserves to be much more popular. Pros The Events System is incredible. The behaviors also work in a masterful way. The interface workflow is one of the best compared to other engines. Cons The fact that you can't export to consoles, unlike other engines. The unnecessary restrictions of Construct 3's free version are a barrier for YouTube content creators. When users can't replicate tutorial projects, the incentive to produce that type of content disappears. The student license might justify this limitation, but the consequence is clear: the community's growth and the engine's popularity are severely limited. Allowing the use of families and four layers in the free version would be a crucial step. It would not only avoid hurting Scirra's revenue but also encourage more people to explore the engine's full potential. Pros The tool is easy to learn and the community is very welcoming and patient. Although I can't make a living solely from creating games, C3 has allowed me to earn extra income from games! Cons The increase in the subscription price, the fact that it only runs in the browser, I believe that if it had an installer, it would run more easily on large projects if installed directly on the PC. You can't expect miracles, and for complex projects, you have to delve deeply into the subject matter—but that's true of everything. Cons The occasional bug, but they get fixed very quickly. For a while the animation editor didnt copy 0 alpha backgrounds, it just filled it in with black, that sucked but its fixed now. The exporting options are a major highlight, for a conventional project going from a finished project file to a deployed game is under 30 mins. Cons As someone educated in Computer Science, SOME of the way Construct expects you to design things is counterintuitive to what you'd be doing on any other code-based development platform. This is expected I suppose, as some things have to be changed to allow for code-free development, but it's something that can feel annoying.
