Thank you Construct three, from the maker of ‘Pixels of a Man’ and the Dock Heist Unit production team affiliates. Pros Construct 3 is really easy to use for a first time user, who is more comfortable in working on either or both of music / visual design. There are so many tutorials on YouTube by passionate users and it’s very intuitive for anybody who is seeking to realise their dream of making a game. I had such a fun time building my game, and it was honestly a dream come true to be able to realise this and publish it on my website with ease, for all my friends and clients to play. I can’t wait to have the time to build my next game, I honestly never thought making the first would be possible, but thanks to construct 3, I was able to make this happen, in as little as a couple of months, as an in-experienced novice. Web Developer & SEO Marketing and Advertising Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Powerful and flexible multiplatform software" March 27, 2020 5.0 Construct 3 allows for very fast development of games, I took less than an hour to have a good enough understanding of the engine to make a passable game, I really enjoy the visual scripting, I wish more engines used event sheets over the current popular flowgraph approach, so much more visual and easier to work with! Pros I like how I can just run it anywhere, it's so fast to get something running too, I had a really good WIP Demo done in under an hour which could then be extended into the full game, doing the same in unity or Gamemaker Studio 2 would have taken me half a day. speaking of game maker studio 2, Construct does everything that can but so much cheaper. Cons Updates are a pain, as sometimes files from older versions are cached which causes issues, clearing the cache always solves this though. Out of the box 3D support would also be massively appreciated, this is more of a feature suggestion though. Switched from [GameMaker: Studio](https://www.capterra.com/p/158594/GameMaker-Studio/) needed something faster and simpler that also was multiplatform out of the box, GM:S does all of the same stuff as a construct but would cost a few thousand for all platforms whereas construct costs under £100 a year! I know 6 different programming languages but find that writing my own code takes a lot of time. With two kiddos at home who need a lot of attention, Construct 3 makes it possible for me to design my games without worrying where I left off in some massive function or subroutine. Pros I make games on the side for fun, including some that are now trademarked and for use in my college courses to teach economic cs. I researched several game engines and chose Construct 3 for its ease of use, good tutorials, including video tutorials, and a responsive discussion board when I had questions. Cons There were a couple of bugs when moving objects to different layers but those issues were caused by human error and if you avoid making those mistakes, you don't need to fix them. Pros Construct 3 had a number of features that I found very useful. The cloud based development platform that allowed me to develop from any device, anywhere was a huge time saver. Construct 3 supported the major operating systems for exporting and had as many features as other comparable entry to mid level engines. Customer service was good and the software is well documented. Construct regularly updates the software and is receptive to community feedback. Cons Monetization of games was a little difficult to understand it didn't seem to support a large amount of ad networks. Pros This software is suitable for the both beginners and experienced players who want to create and model objects in both 2D and 3D. It also allows you to showcase your work in different modes and even paint textures. Cons This software has slow render times and a complicated interface for new users. The majority of my pupils have been able to create their own games according to a brief and this product has enabled them to achieve this. Pros We chose this product as the course I teach requires students to work professionally. This product is as professional as you can get whilst still being accessible by students. Processes can be completed with ease and the logic behind composing the events is well structured to enabled designers to quickly solve their design needs. Cons The only issue I have with using this product is the number of drawing tools in the sprite editor is not as much as in products like Photoshop - despite the fact it is not designed to be an equivalent and you can import files that have been edited in Photoshop or similar so not really an issue. There are multiple Tutorials which can be used and which allow students to work at their own pace. Cons We found the software very robust. Our issues related to our knowledge of the platform (which can only increase with use) and also the level of English needed for the Tutorials (we work in a school where English is a second language and the Tutorials are quite text-based - though they have great images and pictures, too).
