### "Exciting New option for Stat review and Analysis.... "

May 8, 2023

4.0

Enjoy it and am thankful that this product is here and available.

Pros

The graphical interface is much friendlier than competing products. The outputs are substantially easier to view and understand for a non highly technical audience. You can take the outputs and share them without adjustment to "key" decision makers. Ultimately these are the people that hold the key to success in our work.

Cons

Just a learning curve of how you navigate using the software.

Primarily because Minitab is archaic and outdated on the interface.

### "Good, inexpensive substitute for R"

May 2, 2023

5.0

Overall, this is a fantastic product. I use it frequently and find it seamlessly entering my workflow. All basic statistical analyses and many more complex ones are present, easy to implement, and work reliably. Huge datasets are no problem and just about anything you can do in stock R you can do with BlueSky.

Pros

\- easy to import and transform data- surprisingly many features- R syntax is available and can be modified

Cons

\- image export is awkward- sometimes slow to launch

Reason for choosing BlueSky Statistics

This product had most of the functionality and was much cheaper.

### "Not a usable software"

May 2, 2023

2.0

Tried it back and forth with SPSS and R to test functionality. After one yr will not support it unless a big change.

Pros

Make it more like SPSS or Jamovi. Using files from other software. Using ‘some R commands’.

Cons

Poor editing or seting up variables. Not able to connect to R without a lot of problems.

Reason for choosing BlueSky Statistics

I did not I simply tested it.

### "Feature rich statistics package"

June 17, 2023

5.0

I used very early versions (like7 or so) then there was some character encoding problem with my language which was recently solved. I will be using this software much more frequently now. I wanted this software for a clinical trial course I was teaching in Bogazici University. Maybe in future terms, now that it works perfectly across languages.

Pros

Most feature rich package, relative ease of use, lends itself to reproducible research (Markdown), R GUI but also has R editor, No need to know R, SPSS alternative, imports from and exports to most known formats, best user manual I ever read (skimmed), last but not least: excellent support team and a dedicated founder.

Cons

Menus may be overwhelming. This is hardly a con because the package is so feature rich, it cannot be presented with a simpler menu system.

Reason for choosing BlueSky Statistics

In my opinion BlueSky Statistics has the best overall usability and open endedness (potential) for my students.

### "A good alternative"

April 25, 2020

5.0

I have been extremely happy with the open source version and would encourage anyone who is being squeezed financially within their university to give it a try.

Pros

As many universities have had to tighten their belts, budgets for things like a subscription to SPSS have gone by the way side. BlueSky has been a real life saver. Not only does it allow for most of the statistical features, the ones that are not included can still be used with r code. While most of the time I use the graphical interface to perform the majority of tasks, sometimes there is something I need it to do that I cannot find. While I am not remotely an expert, there are plenty of experts who work in r that makes this an incredibly powerful option.

Cons

The three tabs are great if you have a multiple monitor setup, but when working one a single screen (i.e. a laptop), this can be incredibly inefficient to have to switch back and forth constantly between tabs.

### "The new go-to software for Six Sigma analysts"

May 2, 2023

5.0

I was excited to learn that BlueSky was planning a new version that included a comprehensive Six Sigma module just in time for the new edition of The Six Sigma Handbook. Their team worked with me closely to include the most widely used statistical techniques and graphics. Their commitment to excellence was obvious.

Pros

I revised all of the examples in the Sixth Edition of my Six Sigma Handbook using BlueSky Statistics. Plus I rewrote all of the assignments for my online Six Sigma Green and Black Belt courses with BlueSky Statistics. BlueSky's team worked with me to include everything a practicing Six Sigma belt needs to get the job done. I'm certain that the product will continue to get better and better as time goes by.

Cons

There is a learning curve, as there is with any major statistics package. But once learned you will have a powerful set of statistical tools that you can take with you to new employers.

### "Searched for an easey to learn statistical packaged when switiching from WIN to MacOS."

May 11, 2023

4.0

Helpede a lot for conversion from WIN based SPSS to MAC, but especially for graphic output I would prefer vector based graphics than pixel based graphics. And, indeed, in within the underlying R it is possible to get better publication ready based graphics.

Pros

Short learnig curve. Several commands are corresponding to the SPSS version I know.

Cons

Difficulties to get graphic output into publications requirments

### "COTS to OS Transition"

April 10, 2020

5.0

We utilized BlueSky to develop an analytic program and structure that businesses can leverage to transition from costly COTS products to OS solutions, while encouraging the technically inclined among those businesses to venture farther into the realm of data science and statistical programming. As a result, we have saved our clients tens of thousands of dollars annually in software licences, and have introduced an entirely new perspective through which businesses view and approach their analytic initiatives.

Pros

I personally appreciate the ability to build and save models for subsequent implementation and deployment while having the option to tune the models with R code. As a consultant, however, the greatest strength of BlueSky is the ease of use for non-technical users. It truly brings the essentials of data analysis/science to all professionals by delivering a familiar environment with a very easy learning curve.

Cons

From the perspectives of my clients, BlueSky and its users would benefit greatly from incorporating common pivot features that are familiar to those working in Excel.

### "BlueSky Statistics "

May 9, 2023

5.0

I had a good experience with bluesky statistics. I have difficulties with stats and this application is pretty useful. As a student I would recommend this application.

Pros

It’s a very organized application. I liked the way the features were set up. It’s easy to use once you get familiar with it.

Cons

As someone using the application for the first time it can be a bit daunting. It sometimes takes a bit of time to open and I had a difficult time downloading it.

### "Bluesky review"

May 2, 2023

5.0

Pros

Bluesky statistical software is an incredibly powerful tool that has been widely recognized for its ability to perform complex statistical analyses with ease. Its intuitive interface and vast array of features make it an ideal choice for researchers and data analysts who need to handle large datasets and extract insights from them quickly.

Cons

while Bluesky is currently available for a variety of platforms, including Windows and macOS, there is currently no native version available for Ubuntu. As a result, Ubuntu users are forced to use third-party tools or run Bluesky through emulation, which can sometimes result in performance issues. To fully leverage the power of Bluesky, it is essential to have a native version that is optimized for the Ubuntu platform. This will ensure that Ubuntu users can take advantage of all the features and capabilities of the software without any performance limitations. In addition to developing a native version for Ubuntu, it would also be beneficial for Bluesky to acquire new analytical capabilities available in other platforms such as R or Statistica. These platforms offer a wide range of statistical tools and techniques that can be used to extract insights from data that may not be possible with Bluesky alone

### "use of bluesky for regression analysis"

May 2, 2023

5.0

Overall it was so good and simple. its performance was great.

Pros

It was so user friendly and simple with regard to dummy variables. in other softwares such as SPSS we should change the factors into dummy variables however this software was so clever and did them automaticaly.

Cons

In ANCOVA it had some deficits. for example it was hard to find the source of differences.

### "Customizable alternative to expensive packages like SPSS"

April 11, 2020

4.0

Although I use R for the majority of my personal analyses, I use BlueSky to teach statistics to college sophomores and juniors. Use BlueSky allows me to show students both how to produce and interpret output and, through the use of the scripting, how the output is created in R. Furthermore, using the Dialogue Developer, I can create customized scripts to run analyses exactly the way I want the students to learn them. I have also encouraged my colleagues to consider switching to BlueSky as a cost effective alternative to SPSS.

Pros

BlueSky is user friendly and easily customizable. Furthermore, the free version allows me and my students to do everything we need.

Cons

The only minor issue I have is that BlueSky does not update frequently to the latest version of R.

### "Good Idea but I Prefer Rstudio on Linux"

May 11, 2023

Overall, I found BlueSky to be limited compared to using R itself via Rstudio.

Pros

I like the idea of trying to make R more accessible.

Cons

1\. BlueSky is too much like SPSS, which I have never enjoyed using.2. BlueSky does not have a free Linux version.
