February 10, 2026 5.0 I've used a few different affiliate marketing programs now and UpPromote is by far the most user-friendly and easiest to navigate. It's my preferred affiliate marketing service and I'm even switching over another one of our companies to Shopify so that we can utilize UpPromote. Furthermore, the support for UpPromote is unparalleled. Unlike other platforms, where you submit a support ticket via email that you hope to hear back from in a day or two, you get help in the moment via chat during normal business hours. I can't recommend UpPromote enough for these two reasons: user-friendly and customer service. 10/10 Pros The best things about UpPromote are how user-friendly it is, both for the affiliates and for me, who manages our affiliates, and that the support/customer service is quick and efficient. Cons Nothing; I've used other programs and have a lot to complain about with the other services, but not UpPromote. I've tried out other affiliate marketing management systems and none of them hold a candle to UpPromote. You simply cannot get the intense level of functionality from any other program. Most other programs really focus on their lead generation/affiliate finding, whereas UpPromote focuses more on the functionality. If you're looking for lead generation/finding new affiliates, you may need an additional program. Pros It makes managing affiliates easy as pie. It is so customizable, with allowing you to create custom programs that manage different categories of affiliates or even a single affiliate. Payouts are easy. Customer support is prompt in responding to your questions. It is great that you can login as affiliate, this way you can help them reset their password or troubleshoot their UI misunderstandings. Cons The Affiliate Marketplace needs improvement. We have not yet gotten a single quality affiliate through that marketplace. With other affiliate programs filling this void (for a similar fee) I hope that UpPromote will make this feature usable and ROI generating. Pros Love that this is connected to Shopify. It makes everything easier to have everything within Shopify. Love that it tracks orders and referrals for me and payouts are fairly easy. Wish it was a little easier to do auto payouts through paypal. However, we tend to catch scam affiliates when doing manual payouts so that is a plus. Cons My only frustration so far is that we exceeded our monthly referral numbers one month and didn't know that referrals were not getting approved. Had to upgrade to do that and affiliates were frustrated that pending referrals sat pending for several months. Would love to stay with it. Pros I like that there's a free plan certainly. I've been able to get my affiliate program started albeit on a limited basis. Cons Although the free plan is... well free. I dislike that the product is "feature" gated and not "growth" gated. What I mean by this is growth in my plan is limited because I can't fully use the platform. The free plan doesn't allow you to customize commissions by product category, it's limited on ability to assign affiliate specific coupons. Because of the nature of my business, I'm stuck offering lower commissions overall because I need to work to the lowest common denominator, this makes our program less attractive so growth has been slower. I'd prefer that I get access to the features, but pay based on the number of orders or affiliates so that I can achieve the growth AND spend more with it... vs. spend more now and hopefully achieve growth. Right now it's a catch 22. I won't upgrade yet because I don't see the results, but I have a hunch I don't see the results because my plan is limited in features. It allows you to set a special commission rule for each specific product or for all items in a collection. When an affiliate refers someone to purchase a product with a special commission rate, he/she would get the commission based on the special rate instead of the regular program's commission rate. This feature is useful for products with higher/lower prices or higher/lower profit margins. You can also make use of it for products they want to drive sales by offering a higher commission rate to affiliates. Just a kind note, you are able to set up the special commission for a maximum of 15 products in the Free plan and Growth plan. It will be unlimited from the Professional plan. Please be well understanding that all the advanced features consume much of our resources and we have a fee to main the server as well. However, if you want to use advanced settings on the secondary stores, those must still be upgraded to a paid plan). We fully understand that the bulk email editor might be imperfect for some users. Therefore, we do have some third-party email service integrations available in the Professional plan or higher. With Klaviyo, Omnisend, or Mailchimp integration, you can not only send bulk emails from the service but also be able to set up email campaigns via those.
