This allowed me to generate income for minimum effort and a tiny cost. Topped off with the quality of support available I think you'd be hard pressed to find a better value authoring tool. Pros After signing up for the trial or subscribing you are ready to go. No setup, no implementation. It's easy to pick up and use, no development experience required. It is great for me as a freelancer if I have a contract that requires a quick turn around. You can quickly create great courses and meet deadlines without having to worry about complicated set up before you start building pages. The price is very reasonable and well within anyone's budget. Perfect for anyone starting out or trying to keep productive during the lockdown. The response time for support far exceeded any expectations and the team at Edital are really friendly and very willing to assist with your queries. Cons There are other authoring tools that are more feature rich. However, you will pay more money for the privilege of having those features. Edital has more than enough content types to create great courses. Feature requests are gratefully received and I have seen new features and fixes appear on a regular basis, so significant development of the system is happening all the time. Alternatives considered [isEazy Author](https://www.capterra.com/p/167820/isEazy-Author/) [Genially](https://www.capterra.com/p/146861/Genially/) Reasons for choosing Edital Genially doesn't offer SCORM export at this time and is trying to encourage customers to use it as a platform as well as an authoring tool. However, most of the clients I work with have or want an LMS or LXP so this doesn't work for them. I also found their support to be slow and unhelpful. isEazy lock down a lot of their features in the basic package and in order to move up you're looking at a much larger cost than Edital for little in the way of extra features. Its easy to create and share content, its well organised, has great features and comes at a great price. Alot of my clients love the fact they can pay on a monthly non committed agreement. Pros The ease of use is amazing. Its intuitive and has loads of features that let anyone create great e-learning. From images to videos to text and quizzes this tool has everything we need and at a fraction of the cost of other tools I have used. Cons For what it markets itself as you get what it states on the label. An excellent authoring tool at a great price. It does not have some of the more advanced features of a tool like Storyline but I can generally find a way to create some beautiful courses without these. Also, alot of our users just dont have the time to go through the steep learning curve to use a software like Storyline.
