Overall my experience with PitchBook has been very positive, I use it everyday and it is able to sufficiently solve all my desired needs. P.s. Instead of a $25 gift card is there anyway I could get a pitchbok branded tumbler instead?

Pros

PitchBook is incredibly easy to use, the functionality of the site is very user-friendly and makes it easy to maneuver around and get applicable up to date information in seconds.

Cons

My least favorite feature of PitchBook is probably the inability to download bulk information from lists that include both investors and portfolio companies. I feel liker there should be a search feature that filters for Company and Investors and returns results for both rather than having to do a separate search.

Very positive - the service is second to none for private market financial and transaction data essential for my work in lower mid market private equity

Pros

Excellent customer support including regular interaction with dedicated resources Market leading data quality on private market transactions Ease of use for compiling private market analysis, particularly on comparative transactions

Cons

The AI Navigator is slow to develop responses and often produces less than desirable output where I feel I would have been quicker doing it myself - there is room for improvement on the LLM

There is no value here, the free trial is a lie, nothing like that exists, they waste tine and beat around the bush and the actual product is garbage

Pros

Nothing good about them, they employee completely misleading advertisements and waste time on their intro calls to sell you

Cons

The data does not set more meetings with higher quality than you might find on free websites or google

Overall, the platform is easy to navigate and has all of the information I need to identify which PE firms match our sales profile. Once identified, the depth of data on each firm allows me to build a detailed firm profile that helps me build a sales strategy.

Pros

I am in business development for a consulting firm, and I fine the depth and breadth of data to be excellent. I am able to identify target accounts based on cross referencing investments, AUM, fund size, and other criteria we use for establishing sales targets. The contact information is also very helpful.

Cons

Sometimes I find the contact data is outdated as people have changed firms or left the organization.

PitchBook is a tool that I utilise daily. It has become a one-stop shop for horizon scanning trends, researching and evaluating targets and partners and tracking competitors.

Pros

Pitchbook's research features, news aggregation and company lists all make it a central tool for our internal M&A processes.

Cons

The Pitchbook research team does not give specific answers about where they source their information. For example, they could have specific figures for a deal, but there may be differing information available to us directly. It is at times difficult to get one source of the truth.

Overall experience is great. easy and quick to understand, easy to pull data, no latency issues. The only pain point I have is the downloading excel files with merged cells.

Pros

I like the excel took, which makes pulling information easy. very useful! Th UI is easy to use as well.

Cons

I don't like the way data downloads work. the excel files downloaded form the pivot tool within the pitchbook are not easy to manipulate as they have tons of merged cells, that are of different size and etc.

Overall, my experience with PitchBook has been very positive. The platform provides timely and relevant information, is easy to use, and allows users to filter, analyse, and export data in a way that supports both internal research and client-facing work. The customer support is generally very good, particularly when working with the more experienced or proactive members of the team. PitchBook is a tool I would very much recommend to others, especially for organisations focused on investment intelligence, company research, market mapping, and lead generation. The only real hesitation I would have is around price. It is a high-quality platform, but it is also a significant investment. For that reason, continued training, stronger account engagement, and more proactive support in helping users maximise the platform would make the value proposition even stronger. Overall, I would describe my experience as highly positive.

Pros

PitchBook provides timely, high-quality information, particularly around funding announcements, company signals, investor activity, and market developments. The platform is generally kept very up to date, which makes it extremely valuable for research, lead generation, and market monitoring. I also value the ability to manipulate and filter data directly within the platform before exporting it into Excel. This makes it much easier to process information, build target lists, and adapt the data for internal analysis or client-facing outputs. The customer support is also a strong point, particularly when it comes to research-related queries. Some members of the support team are exceptional and go above and beyond to help identify solutions, explain functionality, or support more complex research needs. There can be some variation in the level of support depending on who is assisting, but when the support is strong, it is genuinely excellent.

Cons

The main challenge with PitchBook is the cost. It is an expensive product, and there are a number of competing platforms in the market that are actively approaching firms like ours, particularly because they know we are existing PitchBook users. As a business, we are always looking for efficiencies and ways to improve our bottom line, so price is inevitably a key consideration. While the tool itself is very strong, I also feel that we may not always be using it to its full potential. More structured training would be very welcome, particularly sessions offered on a quarterly or twice-yearly basis. This would help ensure users remain up to date with new features, better understand advanced search and workflow capabilities, and get more value from the platform. There is also some inconsistency in customer support. Some individuals are outstanding, while others can be slower to respond or less able to support more detailed requests. At times, I have been told something is not possible, only to later find another member of the team who is able to help with that same issue. Greater consistency across the support experience would improve the overall value of the service.

Switched from

[Crunchbase](https://www.capterra.com/p/231890/Crunchbase/)

One important point is that we originally switched from Crunchbase to PitchBook because I had used PitchBook extensively in a previous firm and made a strong internal case for its value. At the time, PitchBook also offered a very competitive firm-wide package, which made the decision much easier. However, the competitive landscape has changed. Over the last two years, Crunchbase has significantly improved its platform, including the timeliness of its information and the breadth of its company intelligence. It has also adopted many features that previously made PitchBook stand out. At the same time, PitchBook has become increasingly expensive, while Crunchbase appears to be offering a more competitive pricing model, including discounts for wider user access. This is important because, while PitchBook remains a very strong platform, we are now actively reviewing whether it continues to offer the best value for our firm. The decision is not simply about functionality, as PitchBook remains highly capable, but about whether the price point continues to be justified relative to the improvements being made by competing platforms.

The site is easy to navigate, and the data sets are relevant (I use mostly the LCD material). I would recommend it for this purpose 100%.

Pros

Cons

The contact information for LPs is not kept current. This makes the tool less useful from a capital raising perspective.

I am a big fan of pitchbook - I find myself using it for personal curiosity as much as I leverage it professionally.

Pros

Density and quality of information. Pitchbook enables me to conduct deep research at both industry and individual company levels.

Cons

The user interface is good but not great. It can feel a bit dated in its UI/UX - not to the point where it is problematic, but just not a particularly attractive tool.

Overall, my experience with PitchBook has been very positive. It’s easy to use and helps me stay organized, especially with saving lists and managing data. The dashboard makes it simple to find what I need, and customer support has been very helpful whenever I have questions. Sometimes the number of reports can feel a bit overwhelming, but overall it’s a really useful tool for research and insights.

Pros

The Dashboard is intuitive and easy to use, I like that i can save my lists for easy data management when i need to revisit my work. The customer support is awesome and there is always someone to assist. The features are great and i truly feel the value for my money.

Cons

In the research report section sometimes it hard to keep up Too many reports can be overwhelming: The volume of reports and data views can make it harder to quickly find the most relevant insights.
