I also wish more social media tags would pop up but that could also add to the unnecessary “noise” instead of true feedback on alert parameters. Pros Google Alerts is the perfect platform to quickly and easily monitor specific information with just a few keywords. For me, they help with general awareness of news I’m interested in or topics I want to stay in the know on, as well as the latest updates on competitors. Setting up Google Alerts is highly intuitive. Cons With Google Alerts, you’re not always sure the alerts you’re receiving are coming from reliable sources—which is highly important if you want real news or general data—and sometimes results can be delayed, overwhelming, or non-existent).
