Pros

Google Alert helps in getting timely alerts, in a busy life. All important updates and alerts come right to our email as we set.

Cons

I wish they had a timer to set a specific time to set an alert, as we might miss the alert in a mailbox, if it has a time-specific alert, then it helps the user to check the alert at their available time.

I thought that Google alerts would have a longer free trial period originally.

I still have to use my Samsung Alerts in the Android Product because I have no other options. But they do integrate well.

Very good. They deliver you complete details & mention the topics of alerts that have been set by you.

Pros

It's free, easy, and hassle-free to set up a large number of google alerts of our choice both to track brand mention, topics of interest, and competitors' activities and what're they to. We use them on a daily basis for improving our touchpoints and customer engagement to show our brand in a good light.

Cons

We need a lot of manual efforts to churn out the most useful information from the pool of links where topics of our alerts have been mentioned. It provides complete information that may consume a lot of time to hand-pick only useful information.

Technically wise, this product is easy to use, and I get much out of it. I get valuable information. Being up-to-date in a fast and easy way is fundamental in my job.

Cons

As I said earlier, sometimes the results aren't much on target. The most important part of this service is choosing relevant words and phrases. Maybe something could be done to improve the process of optimization and find more contextualized information.

vale la pena tenerlo como un complemento mas

herramienta que te salva la imagen de tu empresa ya que trabaja en tiempo real y puede reacionar a tiempo por el envio de alerta y notificaciones, en mi caso hable con el cliente que entregaba un trabajo en dos dia posterior al la fecha prometida quedo conforme, pero a la hora no llego una alerta de que teniamos un cometario negativo nos permitio reccionar a tiempo y solucionar inmediatamente la queja del mismo cliente que estaba apenado

Cons

llega a ser molesto el envio de tanto correo ,pero realizando un mejor filtraje se mejora y repito puede solucionarte un problema desde el origen

Je recommande google Alertes à toute personne qui sait utiliser les mots-clés pour effectuer une recherche. C'est un outil puissant et facile d'accès.

Pros

J'aime la simplicité de l'outil car il suffit d'aller sur sa page Google reliée à son compte pour modifier les mots-clés. J'ai choisi l'envoi d'alertes quotidiennes mais le suivi peut être hebdomadaire. Cela me permet d'effectuer une veille gratuitement. Il peut permettre également de surveiller sa concurrence. J'utilise également Mention en complément.

Cons

Il est difficile d'effectuer des recherches approfondies, notamment pour la veille médias. On passe forcément à côté de certains articles dans ce cas. Mais les logiciels de veilles medias sont. très chers alors que Google Alertes est gratuit.

Cons

The specific words or search terms used and information shared might not be directly related to my area of expertise. The alerts on specific words at times are not directly relevant to the information I am seeking.

When states were beginning to change the sales tax laws for how businesses needed to charge customers, I setup Google Alerts to keep me informed on the latest articles related to the laws being changed. This let me keep informed on which states were implementing changes and how I needed to adjust my business billing processes to ensure I was compliant.

Pros

Being able to setup Alerts for various keywords allows me to easily stay informed on topics relevant to my business. I am able to keep receiving new information instead of having to research information continuously. The ability to set notification preferences with different timeframes and aggregation levels makes the Alerts relevant for me based on topic. Some alerts I like to receive weekly. Other alerts I have setup to send me the information continously.

Cons

At times I receive false positive results from my Alerts. However, this is usually resolved by ensuring keywords are more specific. Using quotes around keywords can help improve the results as well. Sometimes I need to refine an alert to make sure it stays relevant and provides me the accurate results. Editing an alert is simple though, so it does not cause any issue.

Google alerts est un outil précieux, particulièrement pour les entreprises mais également pour un particulier à qui il permet de rester informé sur des domaines qui l'intéressent. Simple et complet, ce programme offre un important gain de temps car il propose de paramétrer des alertes afin de recevoir des notifications lorsque les sites et les pages suivies par une entreprise ou un particulier évoluent. En utilisant judicieusement les mots clés pour déterminer les pages à surveiller, l'utilisateur peut effectuer gratuitement une veille efficace et surveiller la concurrence afin de booster son efficacité. Il peut également rester toujours informé et ne rien manquer des nouveautés concernant les sujets qui lui tiennent à cœur.

Cons

Il est difficile d'effectuer des recherches exhaustives et approfondies avec cet outil qui reste en surface. Par ailleurs les notifications peuvent parfois être intrusives ou manquer de pertinence en fonction du choix des mots clés.

Despite the fact that Google Alerts is a free service, it has enabled me to greatly increase my overall productivity. I have repeatedly lost out on funding opportunities and grant competitions that could have aided me in the past. Since I began using Google Alerts, I haven't missed a single grant opportunity or competition, and it has been a big benefit. It has been a tremendous benefit to me.

Pros

It's the simplest, quickest, and most cost-effective method to get your business online, and it's completely free. And one of the features I enjoy the most about the service is its adaptability in terms of how frequently I receive notifications and communications. When working with less urgent topics, I can avoid the inconvenience or distraction caused by real-time alerts while yet staying informed of developments as they occur. Rather than being inconvenienced or distracted by real-time alerts, I am free to concentrate on more critical activities.

Cons

Google Alerts should include content from key social media platforms, as this is where the vast majority of interactions occur, owing to social media's expanding relevance.

Pros

As a freelance marketer, as soon as I get a new client I set up alerts for their company name, a few core keywords in their sector and niche ones. I get alerts as they happen, which can drown you, but on the positive side you see so much. You get mentions of the brand, you see what competitors are doing, identify any theft of your content, and learn as well. It does pick up words and stuff that aren't always spot on, but to be honest it has broadened my media consumption.

Cons

Only complaint is more the human nature effect of if I have a few 'less interesting' stories or mentions, my brain will file all of them for a week or so as useless. It can overwhelm, or sometimes daily alerts are too few but this isn't a product fault. I imagine paid for tools offer more customisation and heavier 'brand mentions' but for b2b this is plenty.

All in all, Google Alerts is a very recommendable tool! It helps us track media mentions and not miss important news and articles about our clients. It saves us time and effort.

Pros

It's a fantastic tool if you need media monitoring for some client, issue or campaign! I've set the alerts and so far they've been of great help. It makes our job more efficient because it's easier not to miss any mentions in the media, plus getting the alerts via email makes it all the more practical for us.

Cons

We use different methods for media monitoring, and sometimes we find some articles by googling about the client/camapaign that we don't receive with the google alerts.

cons of google alerts . 1)limitation as it will mostly show the results which are listed in google for example if in my locality a school is having vacancy for a teacher and they have not listed it on google then the alert will not show me the advertisement for the vacancy . 2) most of the time it just work on the idea of key term search it means if you wish to participate in world record event and made an alert for it it will keep giving you mail having key word world record whether their is event or and old news . 3) some more filters can be added.

Pros

Pour une recherches avancées les filtres sont pratiques et indispensables. Les alertes googles par mails ou mobiles sont très pratique quand on est dans l'attente d'un sujet. Globalement l'outil est facile d'accès et très pratique pour de la veille.

Cons

Le petit inconvénients et que malgré les filtres les résultats d'une recherche sont parfois trop vaste.

For a free product, Google Alerts is an extremely powerful service that has allowed us to boost our productivity significantly. Our Grants team used to miss out on more than a few publications of funding opportunities and grant competitions, but that has not been the case since we started using Google Alerts to fish out keywords related to our grants of interest. It has really helped us.

Pros

Google alerts is the simplest business tool to set up, and it comes free of any charges. And one of the features I love most about the service is that the flexibility it gives me in setting up the frequency of alerts and notifications. For less urgent subjects, I am able to avoid the inconvenience or distraction real-time alerts would cause; and for the much more pressing ones, I am able to stay on in sync with developments as they happen.

Cons

Given the increased relevance of social media, I think it would be a great addition if Google Alerts were expanded to cover content from major social media platforms as well, since a great majority of interactions happen there.

è possibile creare fino a 1000 alert, e il tutto gratis! Lo uso per monitorare la posizione dell'azienda per cui lavoro. Ho impostato anche degli alert per monitorare i nostri concorrenti aziendali e ascoltare ciò che gli altri utenti stanno discutendo riguardo ai nostri marchi.

Cons

Google Alert non fornisce la possibilità di generare alcun report di analisi, e non è l'ideale per monitorare i risultati dei social media.
