### "Five stars!"

March 21, 2026

5.0

I've always used Gmail since I was a kid and never had any complaints or reason to switch. I find it is overall very useful, regularly updated, and well designed.

Pros

It seamlessly integrates with google calendar. It is easy to set up and use and automatically filters out spam and promotional emails.

Cons

I don't like that I couln't find a free app for my Macbook where I can have multiple accounts logged in at once like on my Iphone. It is annoying to have to open a new tab and log in every time.

### "Gmail is good enough for most tasks."

October 15, 2025

5.0

Gmail is my go-to email provider because it is simple to use and has a generous storage system. I also like how it integrates well with other programs.

Pros

Gmail is very end-user friendly. It is easy to send/receive emails, and read mail in an organized way. It is particularly helpful when I am busy that Google sifts my emails into different files, so my primary messages are separate from promos and social media updates.

Cons

Gmail has a limited array of tools for drafting email messages, especially for font types, emojis, etc.

I needed ease of use, and the ability to link my accounts to my various devices. Google made that easier.

### "A feature-rich, ease of use, intuitive, email platform surpassing all other platforms"

August 2, 2025

5.0

I have tried other email services but continue to go back to Gmail because I can easily organize my emails, gain access to other important features like the calendar and tasks, I can add contacts to my list and label them and then all the communications are then associated to that email, which helps tremendously when needing to retrieve communications, and Google is always updating this email service usually adding new features and 99% of them are awesome. So I just stopped using all the other email platforms and just use gmail. I would consider myself a power user of gmail. I have several businesses and I was easily able to set up my personal gmail to not only have my business emails forwarded to my gmail account, automatically label the email, I can even reply to these emails from my personal gmail account with my 'business' reply email. THIS IS SUCH A TIME SAVER that makes me overlook the problem with disappearing SENT emails.

Pros

I have been using Gmail for years. It became my go-to email service after using Microsoft email, AOL, Yahoo, Netscape, protonmail, etc. I like the layout the most and all the features that allow for ease of use and organization are right at your fingertips. And you can get to Tasks, Contacts, and Calendar right from your email. As you go through your emails you can create an event on your calendar, you can create a task with reminders, and you can add a new contact and link all the emails back and forth which helps locating important communications. Very impressive. And you can easily figure out how to use these features without any formal training because it is so intuitive.

Cons

There was a recent update that causes issues with labeling. Everytime I go to label/file an email if my cursor is not directly over the 'fly-out' menu it closes before you add your label. Its a pain because it is so sensitive now. another thing I don't like about gmail is if you try and send an email with a large attachment, the email does not go through, it does not get saved as a Draft, you do not receive a warning of a 'too big' attachemnt or an error message, or an email saying the email did not go through. The email just disappears. It is NOT EVEN IN YOUR SENT FOLDER!! This is a very huge CON and if you spend a lot of time putting together an important email make sure you copy and paste it into a document before hitting SEND. Google needs to fix this immediately.

### "Gmail is great for any purpose"

December 9, 2025

Gmail is great. I use it daily as my primary email source on my phone and computers. It is easy to use and customizable

Pros

Gmail is super accessible and integrated with a lot of other accounts, especially if you are a google user

Cons

Sometimes it can be difficult to find past emails and I feel like it will sometimes send things to spam that I need in my main inbox

### "Gmail review: Superior to Outlook"

August 4, 2025

5.0

I love Gmail. I have used it for work and have been disappointed when I've had to move to a competitor like Outlook. There isn't an easier-to-use email.

Pros

Much more user-friendly than other options, like Outlook. I have used both Gmail and Outlook, and Gmail is superior. Searching old emails is easy, and the search bar identifies keywords with ease. I also like the formatting and organization, as well as the promotions folder. These are all features that others have replicated, but at a lower quality.

Cons

My only real critique of Gmail is how difficult it can be to change the default account. I have logged out and back in as instructed, as well as changed it from my Google account, but after a while, Gmail always defaults back to my original default account rather than the one I want.

Alternatives considered

[Microsoft Outlook](https://www.capterra.com/p/227138/Microsoft-Outlook/)

Reason for choosing Gmail

Gmail is much easier to use. I also enjoy the UX and UI better on Gmail than Outlook.

### "Most affordable and easy to use email platform!"

July 30, 2025

5.0

Overall Gmail is great. Google suite in general is all inclusive and easy to use but Gmail has gotten more intuitive and easier to use on a regular basis.

Pros

Gmail is so easy to use! I’ve had multiple accounts for various companies and teams over the years and Google has done a great job of improving the interface and experience consistently.

Cons

Settings can be hard to figure out. It just doesn’t seem well organizing and labeled sometimes. For example the places I’d think to look to change things, I have to really dig in the settings to find them and then configure.

Alternatives considered

Reason for choosing Gmail

### "Reliable, Clean, and Built for Productivity"

January 26, 2026

5.0

Gmail has consistently delivered a clean, secure, and fast email experience. It scales effortlessly from personal use to enterprise, and its smart features reduce time spent on routine communication tasks.

Pros

Gmail offers unmatched reliability, intuitive design, and seamless integration with the broader Google Workspace ecosystem. Features like Smart Compose, powerful search, labels, and filters make managing high email volume simple and efficient.

Cons

The threaded conversation view can be confusing for some users, especially when multiple recipients reply in quick succession. Also, deep customization of the UI is limited compared to some alternatives.

### "Very happy Gmail User."

April 23, 2026

5.0

Overall, love it. I won’t be switching to anything anytime soon. I love my Gmail and it would be a huge loss if something ever happened to it.

Pros

I have always loved Gmail! I have an iPhone and I still prefer Gmail to ICloud mail. I love that it is free to me to use! I have had very little bugs and issues in the many years I’ve used this program. I’ve never had to reach out to customer support! I love the design of the application and the customization that I can have it on dark mode like I have my phone. I like that it’s easy to report spam mail and other messages I don’t want to receive.

Cons

I would say it is a bit complicated and I don’t like that certain things go straight to spam mail and I don’t get any notification for them unless I go to my spam folder and check it.

I use gmail as it is free and I never have any issues with glitches. I like the design and the option to customize the colors.

Pros

Cons

### "Overall a great platform"

November 17, 2025

4.0

Overall it is a great email platform and it is very affordable for a small business. The Drive helps us to keep our files organized as well

Pros

Overall a great email service. I like the calendar and the drive that is linked to the email. I have several accounts, one personal and for my business.

Cons

Customer service is horrible. You can not get an actual person on the phone and if you do they are not able to help. We had to set up a temporary email as we were setting up our workspace account and they charged us for over 6 months for both accounts and the one was not even a real account. I had to have my bank block it. I am still to this day trying to get this figured out with Google

### "Stable, secure and simple email client across all devices"

November 25, 2025

4.0

Well, as an organisation we've used it for as long as I can remember. It does exactly what it needs to do - send and receive email, securely. It handles spam and phishing (mostly) very well. Never really had any significant bugs or issues. Mobile experience is just as good as desktop.

Pros

It's stable, seems secure, allows for easy management of emails and integrates with other tools easily. Represents great value for money - we've had it for longer than I can remember. Offers plenty of storage and a certain amount of customisation.

Cons

Filters haven't changed in years - they could certainly be more powerful, allowing more automated sorting of emails. Also don't like the now-frequent banners trying to encourage us to upgrade.

### "Best Overall Email Platform"

Pros

It's still the most user friendly email platform there is. It also connects to your calendar and other tools well, and the new AI features are promising.

Cons

### "Much more than just an inbox"

May 7, 2026

5.0

Boosted productivity thanks to fluid, fast, and, above all, extremely well-protected email management against spam.

Pros

For me, Gmail's strength lies in its algorithms. The automatic sorting between primary messages, social media, and promotions allows me to stay focused on what matters. I also love the "Undo Send" feature, which has saved me more than once after forgetting an attachment. The integration with the rest of the Google suite is a massive daily time-saver.

Cons

I find that advertising, though discrete, is creeping more and more into the "Promotions" tab, which annoys me. Additionally, the mobile interface is starting to feel a bit overcrowded with the forced integration of Chat and Meet at the bottom of the screen, reducing the space dedicated to reading emails.

### "Great go to for email and communication"

September 9, 2025

5.0

Overall, I love the integration of gmail with all of my devices, regardless of OS and would highly suggest it to anyone in need of email services.

Pros

Gmail has been my go to email app. The value for money, ease of use, and customer support have been amazing with organizations I have worked in my entire career.

Cons

I sometimes prefer new responses to be a seperate email instead of in-line, but that's just a personal preference, not so much a con. Nothing really comes to mind in the way of cons.

I have been using Gmail for 20 yrs. I feel Gmail is very user friendly and I can incorporate many other softwares with my Gmail.

Pros

I enjoy using Google Mail for personal use and my business. I feel it is very easy to use and up to date with most technology changes today.

Cons

The only thing I don’t really like about Gmail is it deletes my emails after so long. But other than that I can’t complain.

### "Still the better choice among the sea of possibilities "

July 13, 2025

4.0

Is the monopoly, but gotta admit that integration and variety of services within the same product is a breeze.

Pros

I’d say I’m attached to the hip to it in a neutral way. I’d rather use Gmail than other alternatives because is the one that has stay somewhat consistent for personal use. Also used company wise but is not a good alternative to manage client responses. Internal is fine and personal is great. Lately it has become a bit tiresome with the constant deviation of emails to different folders for segmentation that favor Ads over user experience.

Cons

The ads that cannot be removed and stay on top of promotions social and updates folders are truly a pain. As a visual person myself, (and a bit OCD) I don’t leave a received email unopened. Not being able to remove those promotional ads from my list and accidentally opening them is not something I enjoy. I’d rather have old fashioned promo banners on top or bottom of the window that don’t obstruct my email list itself

Alternatives considered

Reason for choosing Gmail

Preferred by all parties involved in the decision, for internal communications and cross synchronization with Calendar, drive and meetings.

Overall I would choose gmail over any other because it’s extremely user friendly it’s very helpful with the “Polish” feature, it can be personalized to fit your way of interacting and keeps everything positive, upbeat and professional.

Pros

I love gmail. I love the calendar, the chat, the easiness of searching, The signature choices, the email sorting, the flag, the look and design….everything. I am sure I am missing a ton.

Cons
