I use Gmail to send or receive emails with the attachment files such as photos, videos, images, PDFs, etc., and sometimes I use this for an important group meeting. Pros The interface of the software is very simple and user-friendly. Its security algorithm is very advanced and strong because of the following features; a) 2-Step verification b) Recovery phone number and email address c) Spam folder d) Notification for every action. It is a well-organized email service. You receive your emails in one of the following folders; Primary, Social, Promotions, and Spam. And, further, according to your requirements, you can place these emails in Starred or Snoozed or Important folder. When you start writing an email and for some reason, you close the page/tab then that email is saved in the Draft folder automatically, and if you delete any important email mistakenly then, you can recover it from the Bin folder. You can also very easily search unread emails. You can sync your phone and tablet with one Google account. Cons Honestly, I have no such issues with this software but there is one thing that annoys me, which is sometimes I get my important email in the spam folder. You can keep it simple to start. But when you're ready, you can dig in and see how you can make it work best for you, your workflow and how your brain works. Although Gmail includes other features, such as online meeting tools, I have only been using for email. Pros I love the interface. I find it much cleaner than other platforms. It lets you focus on your email without all kinds of other clutter crowding out the reading space. Gmail also has a handy mobile app which makes managing your email from any device very convenient. Gmail is independent of your internet provider. Internet providers commonly include an email address, but if you change providers you have to figure out what to do about that email address. Cons Because Gmail is an amazingly robust tool, you could easily miss features unless someone tells you about them and how they might be used. I would suggest looking up some YouTube tutorials to get an idea of the options available. One issue I come across more frequently than I feel I should is Gmail "forgets" what I've "taught" it. For instance, if an email ends up in SPAM or the Promotions tab but it's not, if we drag said email to the Inbox, the next time we get an email from that Sender, Gmail is supposed to "know" to put it in the Inbox. Sometimes it will remember for a while, and then suddenly forget; or sometimes no matter how many times I "tell" it, Gmail just doesn't "get it." I love the features they have added since I've started using, the Google drive, documents, templates, the ease of organizing e-mail folders, the spam blocker. Seriously, what is there NOT to like!? Gmail separates promotional mail, social and general, and spam mail as well. That alone is a HUGE help! Spam is automatically deleted after 30 days and the use can set up timed deletion for other e-mails in the trash folder. The are truly far too many pros to list but, Gmail's organizational tools to keep your inbox clear and clutter free, plus the Google Drive storage options, plus the add-ons, plus other marketing tools if needed puts Gmail ahead of other digital mail platforms. Pros I love how I can easily mark my e-mail messages using color-coded symbols so that I know what their category of importance is and easily find them through such. I find that Gmail is intuitive to use. Cons It is kind of difficult and tedious to delete emails in bulk. I had to apply a filter to do this and it still did not do more than fraction of the emails I wanted to delete and so I had to keep refreshing the page and deleting only the e-mails that were shown on one page instead of all the other pages. In that moment you had to log in to you Gmail account, or create a new one, because every Android app is related to Google, starting for Play Store... It finally became my everyday email, and I used it for school, university, work, games, etc. Cons Being my everyday email didn't make it the best. The truth is some tools doesn't work properly, such as "search" or "spam". Storage is shared with the rest of Google Drive stuff, so if your Drive or Photos is full you take the risk of don't recieving emails (and if you want to buy more storage it's quite expensive). It is not intuitive, for example, during my first months using it I though that slidding to one side the email was deleted, but it wasn't, is was just "archived", I never knew how to find the archive (lol). I just wish (Like most google products) that it was a bit more customizable. If it were a little more powerful I would give it the highest marks. It makes sharing documents very easy via email. I think the next strongest feature that is incredibly important today is its spam/fishing features. More importantly for me is using Gmail to manage my logins to other apps/websites and also to manage my calendar, including organising meetings and responding to invitations from others. It works so well honestly. Pros It's so well-integrated into other Google products, it's great that it's set up to alert me when someone comments on a google sheet, slide or doc that I have sent them. It's really well-integrated with Jira, also notifying me of changes. I like that we can use Gmail at my work without it including Gmail in the address - and that I can so easily use it in tandem with Okta to manage my logins. It's easy to search for historical emails, easy to control spam/promotions etc. and easy to tag colleagues in emails. I like being able to clearly see my calendar within Gmail and how easy it is to create new events and to invite colleagues. It's also easy to deal with event invitations from other colleagues and to add them to my calendar. I like how easy it is to store multiple accounts on one device. It's also great that it's easy to unsubscribe from undesired emails. I personally find it so much easier to use than Outlook. Cons Tiny things: when I report something as spam, it doesn't always mean that every email from that address in future automatically goes to spam as well. The thing I definitely find most annoying is that emails disappear from the main page once a certain number (500?) are in my inbox. If I am away from work for a few days, this makes it really difficult to locate emails that I may have been sent during that time as they seem to have disappeared (I know I could find them by searching, but this is not always possible). Pros Gmail is an excellent email service and is consistently evolving with time. It has a very pleasent and user-friendly interface and allows you to easily compose and read emails. Its basic free version offers quite a good amount of storage space for E-mails and attachments. Your gmail id is used to operate a lot of Google applications and hence offers a high degree of accessibility and integration. As it also works with Google contacts, you readily get your contacts in the email client. Apart from the basic web version, it has dedicated Email app available for all smartphone platforms. You can easily edit and rename folders and labels in it to sort your mails of interest together. Apart from that, your google docs, sheets, drive etc files syncs to your Gmail, that you can access from anywhere just by logging in to your Gmail account. Cons Though it do not have any major flaws, but the one thing that some times prove to be very annoying is that attaching a single attachment file exceeding 30 MBs limit in size is not allowed in it. Cons I filled up my Gmail/Google Drive storage pretty rapidly, so I needed to upgrade my storage capacity rather quickly. I haven't fully managed my inbox since that change because the promotional things are just too much. I do wish there was an easier way to clean up the inbox and different category tabs. It’s up to the user to make it as simple or complicated as they wish, with use of folders, labels, etc. Cons There’s not much I dislike. When they changed from one inbox to separate Primary, Social, and Promotions inboxes, there was a bit of a learning curve. But there is still an easy way to consolidate like it was before. Overall, things function well. My biggest complaint may be that you can’t attach larger files to emails without it kicking over to Google Drive. Cons Creating a new account and having your desired user name is pretty hectic. I'm very much used to it now but there was a time when I was not happy about the labels instead of folders.
