We use it on a daily basis and it really helps with organizing customers contracts, costs, and follow-up. Pros We use this software to contact most customers with contracts, ideas for their remodel, and to send specials in a remodel they were looking at in the future. This software helps to do this with ease. Gmail is easy to use and really easy to manage customers. Cons Spam. There must be a better way to stop spam at the same time not sending things to spam that are clearly form a contact. I know I mentioned the main layout is dull, but that's just being superficial. It works, it's easy, it's customizable, it's fast. Pros I find Gmail very easy to use, it's fast and simple for anyone. Not only businesses can use it, but you can also get an account for free. There is a huge storage space for all your emails and I love that. I mainly use this as my professional account,but a good feature is that Gmail filters any spam or social, so you actually have a primary section for your primary and important emails. Speaking of important, you can "star" important emails aka prioritize any email. You can even customize emails, by adding color and tags - This is a great feature for businesses as you can know what type of emails you get. You can also create different folders, which is fantastic so I can sort and have all the same emails in a same folder. You simply have to check the emails you want to move, and then select the folder where they will live. There is a big search bar to search any email within your account, whether by using a relevant word or exact word, I find this very useful when I'm in a rush. Another thing you can do within Gmail is customize settings, you can customize it by theme and make it more YOU. You can login to different pages, and platforms with your Google account, which is great, and you can sync your email account with other products. There is a built-in-chat which is useful. a new email window for new email, so you can scroll your inbox while typing a new email and minimize it and continue later, and you can autofill sentences. Cons I personally don't like the main layout, I find it outdated, just like the built-in-chat, I find it rather dull. Even though you have the search bar, to be honest, I don't like that emails are not on the same page - you can only see I think 50 at a time. It is well-integrated into the Google collaboration suite (Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc.). The service has excellent security features, great spam detection, and is free to use, as long as you are willing to see some fairly non-obtrusive ads. Pros The best feature of Gmail is undoubtedly the search. Google-powered search results inside your inbox add a ton of value. I use Gmail for personal use, used it as a student, and have purchased it for our family's non-profit. My current employer uses Outlook and O365. If you want to look for anything - an attachment, an email with a particular subject, you are all set in Gmail. In Outlook - good luck finding anything. And it will give you the garbage results after a significant wait. Gmail can also keep you organized if you allow integration with Google's assistant and other services (calendar, meet, voice, etc). Cons This is not really a con, but it's not Gmail's strength: the service is not meant for use offline. You can add it to Outlook, but you'll lose most of it's online features. Online, you don't get things like mail-merge, or... as it may be obvious, offline access to your messages. I am almost always online, and my recent messages are downloaded to the mobile client. Pros we can chat in addition to sending various types of email such as documents, photos, music and heavier files, it is fast and efficient, and completely secure, if you log in to a different ip it identifies itself and notifies you, and it's very light. Cons sometimes he exaggerates and throws the emails in the trash and spam thinking that it is malicious content, sometimes it is difficult for you to know if the expected email has arrived, so you need to always look at the two boxes, the spam and the trash. It also has number of different features that allows you to organize your emails. It is a reliable, friendly user tool that can allow users to back-up photos and documents safely. Another important thing is when you have a Gmail Account, you automatically get a Google account where you can apply all of the Google features. Recently I discovered about google forms web applications where one can create simple web applications that helps to collect data e.g reviews on some products or surveys. The fact that you can receive data on excel sheets in an organized manner is pretty amazing.This has helped me a lot in my work. Cons The only challenge I have encountered with gmail is sending big files, you cannot attach big files and send at once, so you have to separate, zip them in different folders and send them separately with the size that can allow. From labels management, to spam filters, integrations with other Google products, rules, and powerful search, Gmail has been my only email management software since 2005! Cons I know I'm being selfish when I say this, but my heart sank when Google decided to stop at 15GB of free space and started charging if we want to keep using it with additional space. It makes sense (from a business point of view) but this definitely puts a cap on how much I can use it for free. Although, the pricing tiers are generous, I am skeptical to pay and use it (and create more free accounts, or keep deleting older emails to save space). However, I might end up paying because I couldn't find any other email service provider as focused as Gmail in what it does. Having said that, it's spam filters are sometimes weird and doesn't catch it all. I understand it's 'learning' from my open rates, and other filter methodologies in-built within Gmail, but sometimes it marks genuine emails as 'spam' which annoys me.
