Keeping my communication through Gmail eliminates contacting clients through my personal phone number, allowing me to keep my business and personal life somewhat separated. Pros This software is great because it's free, easy to set-up, and links to all my other Google accounts. It's very user-friendly and doesn't require time to learn how to use it. Cons The search function is sometimes lacking; if you don't type it exactly right the email I'm looking for won't come up, even if it contains words I'm searching. You can add more chrome extensions to make it for efficient or pair it up with different tools like Mailbird. Pros Gmail is so easy to use. Like a no brainer app you can use for personal or for business. I am using this with Mailbird mainly of the filtering reason since I feel it's a bit complicated to filter using Gmail alone. Cons I feel like I haven't maximize it yet but if I can create scheduled tasks and add them to my Google Calendar, it would be amazing. I feel like they could create more video instructions here. Pros The most I like about this software is it's simple layout and easiness of use and it's categorized tabs to help me filter where to search , also the search feature is amazing it helps me find any email even if I lost track of it between my emails . Cons One of the most important features in this software yet it needs to be improved is the select msgs feature when I try to delete msgs for example I have to delete one by one / select one by one , I wish there was a select all / delete all selected button , that would be so helpful when u have hundreds of mails u need to delete to organize your mail . Pros Easy to install and easy to use. Nice design, it is possible to install different themes. It is possible to transfer your data from another mail service. A large enough 15 GB drive. Cons As soon as you open your mailbox, your personal data no longer belongs to you. Google will manage your personal data at its own discretion. The confidentiality of the mail server is at zero. Even if you set the privacy settings, your messages will not be encrypted and your correspondence can be read by third parties. In addition, the company cooperates with fiscal authorities and special services of different countries. Including cooperating with countries with openly totalitarian and autocratic regimes. There is virtually no technical support. Bots will communicate with you, not a live person. Live employees are technically illiterate and do not solve your problems. Pros There are many features that enhance Gmail! It is easy to use, sort, and label email. The ability to snooze, or read but mark an email as unread as a reminder is helpful. I also like the star and "mark as important" feature. Cons As I mentioned, my use of the Search feature was not stellar and could be improved. Pros It's cheap, it's simple and easy to use. Another major bonus of using Gmail is that Google loves Google, and nowadays most people seem to be using Gmail, so you have a better chance of not ending up in spam, as far as I see it. Cons The UX could be vastly improved. For example, the menu bar on the left minimises then when I want to click on inbox it usually opens and I accidentally click to write a new email. I don't like that you can only "undo" sending an email for about 2 seconds after it has been sent (within organisation). A message recall option would be good. An option to embed videos in the email would also be great. And, the autoresponder is too basic. There is no option to make multiple responses for people in/outside the organisation and exclude or include certain addresses. I also don't like the folder organisation on the left-hand side. Outlook does it much better. The ability to file emails away into different folders really makes it worthwhile and I'm happy be using this day in and day out. It also allows easy forwarding and the ability to send emails through gmail using other email addresses that can be outside of gmail. This lets me send mail from three different email accounts depending on whether it's for work, school or side businesses. Pros The fact that this is free is just icing on the cake. This is great for college students doing group projects of lab facilities trying to communicate with others. There aren't as much capabilities as Outlook but does almost everything just as well from folders to file emails away, search function, to filters, good forwarding and fast response. THe ability to send emails from three different emails based on the genre of business is great. Cons Sometimes gmail can lag and take awhile to startup or load for the first refresh. Outlook is definitely more crisp in that sense but still for it being free it's not a huge complaint. Gmail is useful to subscribe to websites or newsletters and receive new information every day. Gmail helps us a lot to reset forgotten passwords, we just receive an inbox message to change the password by clicking on the link. The deletion of messages is not irreversible because before being permanently deleted they are placed in the trash and there is the possibility to restore them. Pros Gmail is easy to use and is a familiar user interface for most people. Reading and composing messages are easy and straight forward. Cons Coming from Outlook, there are some stark differences for the enterprise user. For one, rules are not easy to implement. I receive a number of emails that I wish to send directly to a folder to read later. The creation of folders and rules is not intuitive. Also, searching for emails is a bit cumbersome when you get into the advanced options. It should be a bit more user friendly.
