I work for a large financial institution, and we lost hours of work put into an entire project because of Clipchamp's unreliable backup feature. I wasn't having any technical difficulties and there were no network problems with the wifi I was using. I even went the extra mile of starting an export just to make sure it saved. The next day I come back and half the work I did is gone. There is no manual save button so you are basically at their mercy if the site or app has a technical difficulty and decides for whatever reason not to save your progress. All of that could have been avoided with the option of a manual save button. To make matters worse, apparently they pick and choose which users to offer the chat feature to. I wasn't having any problems nor was I notified of any problems or violations with the account when Clipchamp suddenly took chat support away from our paid business account. Tested this by logging out then logging into a separate free account, and suddenly chat was available. Not only that, but when I reached out to support via email, they followed up with a generic initial email about looking into the technical issues we were having, then I never heard from them again even after several follow-ups. Clipchamp just has overall bad customer service and is not worth the troouble and risk of unstable performance. My advice? It offers really great features, is absolutely easy to learn and doesn't require much teaching. The user interface is also neatly designed for optimal user experience. We have loved using Clipchamp greatly. Pros The most useful characteristic of Clipchamp is how easy it is to learn and use. Being accessible online also means that I get to carry my work along with me everywhere I go, and not worry about files taking up local storage space on multiple devices. Cons A few more effects for scene transitioning and more options for background music would be really great additions. I have never used a tool this frustrating before Pros I like how it is easy to use and similar to other editing tools i have use Cons using the tools are too glitching and it keeps kicking me out to their home screen, making it not editable for me to edit. clips kept being deleted even though the clips that are downloaded are still there. every time I want to delete a text, the other clips keeps going forward which is unbelievable. if i want to extend a clip, the other clips extends(but that is only you add a lot of clips). adding more clips will slow down the website. things keeps disappearing and I am unable to edit or do anything. The price and lack of outline in text are my reservations. Pros Clipchamp has good Arabic support. The titles and text come out properly. A lot of editors out there do not support Right-to-Left languages. The time line editor is a pleasure to use. It is easy to see and split. You can also add layers quickly. The zoom feature is better than the competition. The interface is one of its strongest points. There are some utilities that you can also subscribe to. They offer some basic templates to get you started but you really do not need them since the interface is so easy to use. Cons The exporting is not done in the cloud. It uses the computer resources. This could be a con for you if you do not have a fast computer. On the hand, the benefit is that you do not have to wait in the queue for the cloud service to export your MP4. I really wish they had an outline or shadow option on text and titles. The price is on the high side. Stock photos could be better. However, my main concern is the outline and shadow option. As it stands now there are better options but you could still use Clipchamps free part/version. Pros I love using Clipchamp. Some parts of it are completely free.It's fun and easy to focus on. Templates are already partially set up and ready to be filled in with music or sound effects, text, graphics, also transitions. The editing windows are adjustable.I also love the chat support. Cons I want lower cost. To get all of Climpchamp it costs 19 to 39 dollars per month, more than many others cost. I also want an app. It's too easy to accidentally exit the tab and lose your progress. Cons When I duplicate elements they don't automatically add to the end of the file they appear "somewhere" in the middle and it at times can be difficult to locate where it ended up throwing all the following timing off. S Pros It comes with Windows 11 (also available for any Windows platform through Windows Store) It is pretty exciting for me to see this, as Windows doesn't have a solution since Windows Movie Maker. Free plan is actually capable of everything a basic user needs. Software requires simple learning curve to combine your videos for basic production. I am a previous user of Canva and the welcome screen simply looks like it. It takes a couple of minutes to create a drone footage video for Youtube. Render performance is good for midrange hardware specifications. Templates and wizards are practical and the edit layout gives you everything you require, you won't be lost in the settings and details of Premiere. Subscription plans are pretty cheap. Cons The branding set requires a subscription plan. A subscription is required for some content like stock videos. " July 11, 2021 5.0 It’s been great, I’ve been using ClipChamp for the last 1 year and half for my online classes. I record the topics explanation and then edit the short videos into one complete lesson. I’ve been able to share this with my students without any issue. They have used ClipChamp themselves for school projects. It’s amazing and I truly recommend it to everybody. Personal or professional use; ClipChamp is the best! Pros I love that ClipChamp allows me to put different videos together and add different transitions, audios, music, text and filters. It also allows me to publish the finished video directly on different media as well as to share the online version through a URL or download it and saved it in my computer. I also love that is really easy to use however it includes a tutorial. Cons Nothing, ClipChamp is a really good and easy to use. I really like it and I wouldn’t change anything about it. Good at handling short video formats but you may have trouble editing longer projects. Greatly recommend to people needing a video editing tool that can run on most computers (especially Chromebooks)but don't recommend for professionals looking for features that allow for minute control over the video or animations etc. Pros As a browser video editing tool being able to edit videos with basic effects and overlays is great excellent for short projects with little editing needed or for home projects. It is fairly intuitive to use but does require a good Wi-Fi connection to make the best use out of it. The timeline was easy to scrub through and from my experience computer hardware was not an issue at all (I could run it on a basic laptop pretty easily). With that in mind, this may be a useful tool for people using Chromebooks. Cons Being a subscription model software, I would not recommend it to anyone who will not be using it regularly. In terms of cost, it is a lot cheaper than other video editing tools if you don't account for the recurring subscription costs. If you are using it for one or two projects, subscription cancellation is fairly easy so subscribing for one or two months is not an issue. A major downside to this service/software is that it is entirely online so you need to upload all the assets you need and there is no offline editing capabilities. There is also limited features. We have been uploading videos to Instagram and Facebook and have had comments on the good production which we often tell them it is with clip champ. Pros I liked how easy it was to sign up to the program. Often I have trouble with multiple accounts and email addresses but it seemed easy enough on Clipchamp. The most used feature for my business is the mobile upload as we often take videos on the ground and I want my employees to always be capturing footage. They don't mind when they know it is easy enough to get uploaded to our program for future editing. Cons I think they could improve on the pricing. Maybe some discounted tiers for smaller businesses. Although as we increase the volume of our videos maybe we will consider a higher tier. Pros I liked that it is pretty simple and easy to learn how to use quickly. The templates are great because you have a storyboard structure to get you started then you change it up as needed. The stock image and video pool is also extensive and high quality. It's also nice that it's completely functional as a web app and doesn't require downloading anything extra onto your computer. Cons The only real downside I found was that there were regular issues rendering the final files when you import your own footage instead of using the stock footage.
