Pros the feature I like the most is how it automatically finds outdated , duplicate, and unnecessary files . in our day to day work , we create a huge number of files and over time they can made cloud storage messy . Netwrix regularly scans our repositories , identifies old or low value data , adds the right tags and takes the required action automatically. Cons The biggest downside is troubleshooting when a file is skipped or tagged incorrectly . figuring out what went wrong usually means checking workflows , going through logs and manually verifying the process which can be quite technical . because of that our team often has to ask the IT team for help whenever a file is misclassified or doesn't get tagged as expected. Pros What I like most about this product is that it gives complete visibility into who is accessing the data and what is being done with the data . like we don't have to manually track changes or investigate security incidents , everything is monitored and logged in one place , it makes it much easier to detect threats , protect sensitive information all from a centralized platform. Cons I think the downside about Netwrix is the learning curve . setting everything up and understanding all the features takes time and the cost can add up if you need advanced capabilities. With this information, we are then able to restrict access to those items that shouldn't have had such broad permissions. Audits are much less arduous because we no longer have to frantically search for where the at-risk data exists. Pros We were able to reclaim actual disk space versus making educated guesses on what we could safely delete. In addition, it identifies folders containing PHI (Patient Health Information) which is huge for us. Before this tool, we literally didn't know where all of our PHI was stored throughout our network until an auditor forced us to start searching manually. That aspect alone made the cost worth it for me. Cons Setting up crawling and classification rules takes a lot of time and you really need someone who already has experience. And this part that annoys me is that if files get skipped or tagged incorrectly troubleshooting is very technical and not really appropriate for what it is. I end up digging through logs just to figure out why a file is mislabeled and end up filing a ticket with it instead of fixing it myself. Decision making is quick and accurate after using this solution for data analysis. It doesn’t require any major training anyone can use. It provides accurate and responsive data outputs. Cons I don’t have any issue with Netwrix but sometimes finding something on large datasets is time consuming due to inbuilt search options. It needs little bit optimisation and enhancements.
