August 6, 2025 4.0 So far it makes my study for Amazon Web Services way better since I can repurpose my inputs as standard flash cards, match each term and even game-ify each question. Pros I've been extracting from article writing related topics in Amazon Web Services to gain my certification and to study them. This allows me to push further my content creation when it comes to flash cards and also with my youtube channel to document how I use Quizlet. Text generation is straightforward since I can take extracts from the modules and use them as flashcards. Voice and text from what Ive seen in paid tier makes it more immerssive to further advance the way I study to sharpen my knowledge pe module. Image generation is still a work in progress because I haven't tried it yet. Cons My only concern is that perhaps you can't see if you can switch from Spaced Repetition to standard study approach. We done use the rest. Pros I really like that students can practice using the flashcards and listening to it being read. Cons I am not impressed with the spelling feature or the gravity one. My student love the matching and enjoy beating their scores. I love that they include the funtion to search other users study sets so you can use it too. Also all the study modes that it have really help you changing your study type. Cons A lot of the most interesting features that it have are restricted to the premium version so for simple study cards its okay but if you want something more elaborated ones you will be very limited. Pros The most impactful feature is how the flashcards can be learned not just as a flashcard but also as other games and formats and it helps to keep the words in a random order making sure all the words are studied properly. I also like how fun it is and how it keeps track of the progress to give a good idea of how the students are doing with the new vocabulary. Cons The "live mode" requires at least 2 plus players but sometimes you are just tutoring one student and so it would be fun to also use the feature with just one player to give another alternative way of testing the student's progress. Not much to critique it on. I have been using it since I was a child and now that I'm teaching other kids/students, I have passed it on to them! Pros It is very easy for both teachers and students to use. My students use it for vocabulary practicing on a weekly basis (two times a week at least) and their improvement is usually pretty clear. There are different ways and games that help students learn and the system remembers which terms they need more help on (starred terms) and will repeat those more often. It doesn't take me too long to make a Quizlet which I find very convenient and time saving! My students tell me they make quizzes for themselves and find the process of manually creating the quizzes helpful and easy because it helps them learn the content. The flashcard feature was great because when you tapped the flashcard, the definition or the explanation would show. It helps a lot with studying. Cons Quizlet used to be a completely free app, now it is requiring users pay for features that used to be free. While the membership fee isn't a lot compared to other fees, it is still a fee and some students prefer not to use Quizlet to its fullest extent because of it. What makes it even easier and more fun is that it's set up like a game. It's got music in the back and you can choose your time that you get on each question. It's amazing. Pros What I like most about Quizlet is that it takes something so simple as a big white piece of paper, makes it digital, writes the questions and answers, and helps us stick them in our brains for long-term use. I've used it for about 2+ years for academics and music. I can say there are not many test that I have taken and didn't pass using Quizlet. Strongly recommended. Cons What I least like about Quizlet is that sometimes on the mobile version it glitches and gets stuck. So because of that I have got some answers wrong or have seen some answers to early and that kinda spoiled the learning experience for me. I’ve used it for years now — through high school and college — to make my own study sets or utilize sets made by other users. It is easy to navigate / use, and the free account has a ton of different uses — I never felt the need to pay for a premium account! Pros Very user friendly. I like the ability to create folders and sets of flash cards within those folders. I love the multiple options there are to learn study sets, from practice quizzes to matching etc. I also love the ability to access other users’ study sets if I don’t feel like making my own. Finally I love the ability to add pictures to cards! Cons It is best for straightforward vocab, terms and study concepts rather than bigger more complex concepts. So to make flash cards for bigger paragraphs and ideas is challenging and not as helpful just because the setup of quizlet doesn’t allow as much room with that kind of thing (I.e. limited organizational means such as adding bullet points - major drawback!).
