E-Builder has a very supportive customer service department. I have used them several times and they were super quick and helpful in solving my issues. Our project implemented eB and we developed processes to make eB more efficient. A great tool to work with. Pros strict way to manage documentation, easy to use once you learn the processe. Customer service is there when needed, really helpful. Cons None, but needs improvement in the area of report development...the user interface for ceeating reporrs is not friendly. If we have a bit of dexterity with the PC, the system is rather simple. it allows a good management of drawings and ufficial documents between the various company involved in a project. The only one thing that take away my time is when i must open the closed items. We supposed to have 100 item within a 1 package and all items and the package are closed. For some reason we need to open the items, to do this we must enter into every single item and open it, it would be nice to do this in one shot. Cons \-Meeting minutes is missing a huge aspect with not having the ability to publish meeting attachments with the notes and having impromptu attendees. -The bidding module needs more settings to account for all the different ways bid can be processed. -Drag and drop documents from emails. Another great thing is if you happen duplicate invoice numbers or commitment numbers, the system will also let you know. We use this system daily, and all day for our projects and it is one of the easier sites to navigate through when we have projects Cons Not being able to see all the projects on the Home page for us to choose from. Pros Ease of use for reviewers, made w project owners in mind- you don't have to look at some construction application and imagine how you might be able to apply t to your corporate building program. Mobile access , reviews, approvals a breeze and even easier than suing the website, for the traveling executive. Cons Could always be cheaper! I like the budget detail layouts for the project. I value the refusal of invoices without commitments and budget amounts in place. Cons Learning curve with process. August 18, 2016 4.0 I am part of the Construction Management team that worked with a client who utilizes e-Builder for all their organizations construction project needs. They have it integrated with their accounting system, and utilize it for the full spectrum of project controls. I found the program to be moderately difficult to learn initially, but once the base components became familiar it provided a solid tool that allowed for communication across the project. The largest difficulty was in getting the design and construction vendors to upload their documents and process them within the system. Once they were within eBuilder it became easier to hold the appropriate parties accountable. Pros The email notifications that specified the need for Action. Cons The rigidity of the workflows. There was an issue with the RFIs going directly to the design team without oversight by the CM. This had potential for generating change orders in both design and build without oversight or authorization by the client or CM as the client representative. The best we were able to accomplish was the simultaneous notification of the CM so that we were aware and able to address our scope. Review Source KD Kimberlee D. E-builder is much more easy to use now and I really love the recently added feature of drag and drop. There was just way too much clicking before. It was very time-consuming. And it's also not a great system of record because the search function is missing as of yet. Pros The specific email-in portion is very helpful! It makes sure nothing slips through the cracks and makes for a centralised area for everything to go to. Version control is also nice. Cons Search function is super hard to find. It could be non-existent, but I'm hesitant to make that claim because I haven't been able to confirm or deny its existence. It's also really hard to move and copy documents, for no reason. The ability to use forms and get reports improves the speed, efficiency, and quality of the work. The forms were easy to use and distribute. It's easy to share information and organizes every aspect of a project. Cons Hard to attach photographs to a form. The photograph command button only allowed one photograph. It is hard to break the traditional methods (i.e., e-mail and project folders on the hard drive), especially for those that don't like learning new software. Pros Customer service is great. Great way to make sure everyone has access to the latest information. Cons Online user's manual is not the best. Change is hard for some people, so forcing adoption can be difficult.
