Extremely valuable tool for our business.

Pros

At the start it took some understanding on how to configure the system, however, once you built your first IVR you'll never forget how to do it again. It just works, and it's been very reliable for my business.

Cons

I don't like how their billing system works. I have to keep feeding flat dollar amounts into their system (this is done automatically) instead of getting just one bill at the end of the billing cycle. This causes headaches for accounting.

I have used VOIP.ms for over 10 years, first implementing it when VOIP was in its infancy. It's been a reliable and cost-effective tool, relative to old legacy systems that were expensive and lacked features.

Pros

The most value I get is the ability to administer the backend fairly easily to manipulate the changes according to business flow. I utilize the call forwarding and call hunt feature daily. We use a main DID number for the business that serves as the hub, where calls are routed accordingly. We use physical ATAs and softphones in the environment.

Cons

Softphones and best practices for implementing cost-effective mobile VOIP apps remain a challenge.

Pros

Setup is very complete. You can tweak anything with your phone lines.

Cons

Billing in USD. Not for everyone. You need to know about networking and telephony before going with them. This is not a service for end users without technological knowledge.

### "I Recommend VOIP.MS many times a week"

I changed from a different provider because of cost. It soon became obvious that I had also been missing many features which have enhanced my usage of the system. I manage websites and sell website hosting for customers and have encouraged them all to consider Voip.MS. Many now have either local or toll-free numbers with the service. Even though toll-free numbers are not required these days, they tend to show a company in a better light and look more professional. Oftentimes these toll-free numbers are chosen to spell the website, company name or function. Recent examples they used were 1-8xx-KONA-FARM for a farm which gives farm tours. I have need to open a couple of tickets and their response was quick and accurate.

Pros

Voip.MS has many free features which telephone companies charge for. The software is easy to configure and fairly intuitive. The usefulness and cost savings are one of the largest drawing point.

Cons

There are only a couple of issues I have had. One is the ability to internally call a ring group, and their time conditions are not based upon my own time zone. These are very minor issues and not deal breakers for me and I have opened Feature Requests for them.

Reason for choosing VoIP.ms

Callcentric had some options which Voip.MS didn't such as some free inbound numbers in New York and a free fax service. This allowed me to receive free faxes on a DID number. The free DIDs eventually went away. About that time, Voip.MS added a fax service.

Service has been great for many many years, customer service has always been responsive, price is fair and service, reliable.This is my trusted VOIP provider

Pros

Customer service is very responsive, the quality of the call routing, and the reliability of the system has always been great. There’s a lot of feature and flexibility available for configuration. There was a denial of service cyber attack a few years back, but I think the team responded in the most appropriate way given the circumstances. Their services have been flawless before and after.

Cons

Voip.MS is a service for businesses and the residential power user. Not not intended for the common end-user, so knowing that there really isn’t an issue with the services provided.

I have had a great experience with VOIP.ms. I transferred my cell phone over to VOIP.ms, and saved a ton. Whenever I had a problem, I used the chat feature for help and they were able to help me figure out the issue every time, and every time the issue had to do with my setup and not the service itself. Overall, I highly recommend this service to folks, I've already signed up a few people, and they love it.

Pros

VOIP.ms provides VOIP services at an amazing price, making it the obvious choice over any other VOIP service provider. In my opinion, the top benefits are; 1) Price - this is absolutely unbeatable when compared against other options. 2) Control - all features and functionality can be completely controlled by the user. 3) Features - There are so many features included with voip.ms that there are things that I would have never even thought were possible. Call failover, online fax numbers, call attendant features are all available to me making it so that I never miss a phone call. 4) Ability to choose my own devices for making the call. By using this VOIP service, I can choose to either make or receive my phone calls through my existing cell phone, my computer or another VOIP phone of my choosing. This allows me to have various applications of the service throughout my office.

Cons

Two main cons; 1) I can't use the text features to receive MMS messages or validation codes for logging into accounts. 2) Setting everything up can get very complicated. There is an amazing wiki available, and the customer service is amazing as well which has made it possible for me to set this up on my own, but you need to be a little tech savvy to get it done.

Reason for choosing VoIP.ms

I switched because the price was amazing and I had control over the features and implementation allowed me to make the change without disrupting my normal way of doing business. Additionally, the quality of the VOIP calls were such that I could sustain the switch with minimal disruption.

Without warning, we were charged 40c a minute for our calls instead of 1c a minute as had been for many years previously. Furthermore the customer support was terrible, and did not consider it a complaint, merely stating it was someone else's responsbility.So we switched all our calls to another provide that still charges in the 1-2c range.

Pros

We have been using VOIP.MS for well over 10 years. Until recently it was (a) value for money and (b) highly functional.

Cons

Failure to inform us of a forty-fold increase in price.

### "Great service provider for no-frills Internet telephony"

Pros

VoIP.ms offers rock solid connectivity using industry standard SIP protocols. There's not a lot differentiating them from the crowd, but sometimes that's exactly what you want. I've used them as a backing provider for softphones and various physical IP phones—they were a breeze to set up and offered plenty of routing and IVR options.

Cons

SMS support is a relatively recent addition and still doesn't work as well as I'd like. Third parties often have trouble sending SMS to VoIP.ms, or sometimes they outright block the use of VoIP services for SMS. This is particularly a problem for two-factor auth and other automated messages.

Overall this has been an excellent service and huge value for the $.

Pros

At first this was implemented to simply replace one POTS line. However, as we grew a bit and added a couple of remote workers this service has been fantastic. Anywhere that an employee or I can get a decent Internet connection, we can make and receive calls. We use a mix of hard IP phones (used Ciscos) and Zoiper on our Android devices. And the cost is fantastic! We were paying over $100 per month for a single POTS line and having to pay for long distance. That one payment now lasts us over a year of usage on VOIP.ms. Plus we get more features: SMS, voicemail, virtual assistant.

Cons

It is a bit complex to figure out how to setup the system. I'd also like to be able to use the web portal to upload and send text messages to my customers during emergencies. But they don't support that feature.

Stability, I am having many wholesale accounts, but for anything that must work, I am using Voip MS, with their level of excellent support, even when something does not work immediately, they make it work, I've recommended it for many people who are still enjoying it after years

Cons

People like to build thing from top to bottom, so in philosophy its a UX issue, although from a software transparency perspective building from bottom to top is better.Keep place in queue (callback) would be a feature I would like to see

It has been great! Very stable and lots of community support for the occaisional time I've had an issue.

Pros

The price is very reasonable and there's a lot of features included in the base price (I don't use most of them, but I wish I could).

Cons

For VoIP.ms I wish their accounting was more detailed. And there was Canadian pricing so my costs didn't fluctuate with exchange rate. Not specifically VoIP.ms but VoIP in general isn't a consumer solution so it's really frustrating that Android phones support it half-heartedly and the SMS integration isn't 100%.

### "Bad Customer Service Experience with VOIP.MS"

We have been using VOIP.MS for over 5 years. The last 12 months were the most terrible: service was intermittent, customers complained about missed calls, delays when connecting calls, text messaging forwarding to mobile devices was not working correctly. All of this was peaches comparing to the last two weeks when we decided to cancel. Contacted via email to cancel the account and remove all VOIP numbers since we won't be porting; they replied that I need to remove the numbers myself (a few hundred numbers) while I am still being charged for the renewal VOIP numbers. I insisted that they could remove them themselves; they said that I needed to put more funds into the account before they could do it. The bill went in negative because we had a few dollars only when we asked to cancel the account. We put the fund on the budget, but it has been two weeks, and nobody ever got back to us. Contact support again. They said that our ticket was closed. If your options or budget to go with another provider, you may consider other options. VOIP.MS is cheap, and you get what you pay for.

Pros

Cheap rates, a large number of Canadian numbers available

Cons

Complicated or outdated UI, zero help from customer support, intermittent service, delays before connecting calls

### "What A Great Service VoIP.ms Provides"

My home phone service is the best I have ever had, with so many features included, and more still that are available for a small fee.

Pros

While the setup may seem complicated, VoIP.ms provides excellent documentation and help to get things started. I have helped family members, friends, and work colleagues to onboard to VOIP.ms, and they are ALL still using the service. I have not come across any comparable service, nor anything that compares in price. For me, it’s a no-brainer; VOIP.ms is hands-down the best!

Cons

It requires a reliable internet connection…if you don’t have that, it may not be a good experience. My parents complained a lot, but once they switched ISP’s, they have had no problems.

I moved from Bell Canada. I’ll admit I was leery at first, given how many features were promised at such a low price. It lived up to the hype!

It was easy to integrate older and new devices into the system with no real issues or support.

Pros

One of the best features of VoIP.ms are the well documented and explanatory Wiki pages allowing to start from scratch new projects with very little support.

Cons

When navigating the website, it seems that you need to re-enter your user credentials quite often. May be this is needed for security issues to protect hacking.

Pros

We got ourselves setup with voip.ms with only a little effort, and it has ticked along with no problems for the last three years, saving us $50 a month over POTS.

Cons

If I had to pick anything, it is that tweaking configuration to handle different mailboxes, or routing, was a bit fussy, but we ended up not using it. Very minor to the base use-case.

voip MS is stable / good service. I started using it for my own business use primarily, and then over a period of 5 years I have deployed numerous clients onto VOIP system built around VoipMS platform, with me acting as the service provider/reseller. It is possible to offer a good quality service, with reasonable markup, and still give clients a phone system offering that is \*FAR\* less expensive than traditional telco or 'standard modern voip system pricing' even. ie, most 'big' voip providers who sell direct to consumers, tend to sell for a much higher price point.

Pros

features are good, price point is very good, they keep adding new features gradually as time passes. The core PBX is sufficiently feature rich to use for modest size deployments (20-ish handsets) and if you need something bigger/fancier then just deploy a PBX Cloud Hosted VM and use VoipMS as your sip trunk provider to feed service to your custom PBX. Support team is responsive to email support queries. Overall the offering is excellent value. Once deployed it tends to "just work" very consistently / reliably.

Cons

learning how to use the web-admin interface is a bit confusing at first, but once you learn it - it is lean, efficient, easy to use. there are occasional drop calls or call quality issues, but these are very infrequent and most often have to do with problems 'client side' (ie, Busy LAN at client site > congestion > can cause poor call quality if the client site firewall is not setup to do QoS suitable for triaging Voip traffic above other traffic). So this is not a problem with VoipMS so much as a problem with 'insufficiently well configured client sites' or 'sites which lack adequate ISP bandwidth' etc.

I have been using VOIP.ms for more than 10 years for professional and personal uses. I've seen the rise of companies that are branded to specific segments of the VOIP market that cost way more than VOIP.ms and have less functionality/flexibility. You can pretty much set up whatever you want with VOIP.ms, and their chat support has helped me set up some pretty incredible systems. VOIP.ms has been my go to, and I hope will continue to be for my voip needs for years.

been with them since i think 2019 or 2020, i did open my account 1/2 years before but never used the account not sure why but then google voice was going to stop allowing my Incredible PBX to connect to google voice so i ported all my numbers to voipms been here since its an amazing home to park my numbers and use for service.

Pros

built in PBX at no extra cost unlike other providers, reasonable monthly and prepaid plans

Cons

wish it had the ability to listen live to calls like FreePBX by using the 555 feature i think its called Chan Spy, but thats just more of a wishful thinking idea. really dont think there are any cons

Pros

We like that we have a phone solution that offers many features for very little money - it's a great value. We're able to screen our calls and then block spam/phishing callers, of which it seems there are a lot these days. The voice quality of the calls is extremely good.

Cons

I'd don't like that we're still paying for our ported phone number every month. There should have been a one time charge and done.

I like it because it simply works. I don't get bombarded with weird upgrade suggestions, bills and the one time there was a network issue, they notified me before it was a problem.

Pros

I got sick of the local telephone companies and when I moved to a new internet provider, this was the time to get rid of my phone account once and for all. The price is great, but what I really like is their tech support to help configure the phone line as well at port it from the phone company.

Cons

It is a little tricky to set up, but then their great customer service made up for that instantly.

It has been smooth and easy. There was a learning curve at the beginning, but it wasn't bad and since then it has all just worked.I have recommended VoIP.ms to several companies I have worked with and will do so again.

Pros

When looking for a phone provider I found VoIP.ms and decided I liked their features, flexibiilty and price. I like the ease of adding numbers and the control over access. I like all the added features such as voicemail, speech to text, sms via email.

Cons

Never had any trouble. Never needed customer support beyond reading the FAQ.
