Pros What I like most about ScreenPal is hoe it quickly meets 95% of my content creator needs. I am not interested in using Ai for my selective creative content. I use another platform to meet this need. Pls ScreenPal -- don't head for the Ai hills! My CRM allows me to use video links from Screenpal although it 'forces its preference' for' uploading a link from Vimeo. Thought you ought to know. Cons The only challenges I've experienced is on my end. This requires me to have a dedicated external thumb drive with enough TBs to accommodate the video content archives that are too much for ScreenPal 'sharing' links options. ScreenPal is my go-to for quick tutorials and sharing ideas through video. The value for money is unbeatable, especially considering how much is included in the editing suite. Even during a period where I had to step away for financial reasons, the team was incredibly supportive and helped me keep my content safe in the cloud. I plan on being a long-term user! Pros What stands out most is how user-friendly the platform is. As someone who isn't a professional editor, I found the screen capture and editing tools very intuitive. It makes it incredibly easy to capture an idea and share it instantly. Additionally, the customer support is truly top-tier—they are responsive, empathetic, and actually listen to user feedback, which is rare to find. Cons The only minor hurdle I’ve experienced was a small glitch in the automated billing system after a plan change, but the support team was very quick to step in and help resolve it manually. When it works it is fine. I use it to review work and mostly screen recording. The thing that really has annoyed me is the price increase of nearly 500% I have been using the app for years but I wont pay 500% more per year for it. Pros It is simple and easy to use and the editing is fast and intuitive.The instant link function is great Cons The new app keeps crashing and locking up, losing the work I have just done. What I like the most about it is how it allows me to make edits on the recorded video very easily, making the video look professional. Pros Screencast-O-Matic makes it so easy to record any part of your screen and edit your recordings. I use it for recording some of my tutorial videos or making digital product review videos for YouTube. You can record your webcam or external camera, import your own videos or stock videos, audio, add text, shapes, etc and save all your files online. You can also upload to YouTube directly if you chose to. Cons Some of the features in the paid version are available for free on other platforms, but if money isn't the issue, then it is worth paying for. Not recommended if you want to stream games. It's intuitive, fast, and does everything we need (with the above exceptions). Pros I especially like the video editor, whose interface is uncommon, but really comfortable to use, different from any other tool I considered. And you have tons of options to create very sophisticated videos. Cons Right now, when you overlay an element to your video (such as another video or an image), you don't see its coordinates, so it's difficult to create 2 different videos with elements in the same spot. I'm also missing a quicker way to generate GIF previews in order to share videos via email. And finally, I'd like more options to embed videos to emails, because the current iFrame and oEmbed aren't correctly rendered by Gmail, for instance. Reason for choosing ScreenPal Because it's Java based and we can use it on all company's computers, regardless of their OS. April 17, 2024 5.0 I've been with Screencast-o-matic/Screen Pal for several years now. You cannot beat it for content creation on a budget. Overall, I love the quality my video/podcasts have compared to similar content creating software. Pros Screen Pal is easy to use, offers music, and had drag and drop options for content creating. Once my AI generated book chapter is recorded I can create a video/podcast in about five minutes using Screen Pal. Cons Well I don't like change and when Screencast-o-matic switched over to Screen Pal I had to relearn how to use it. But in the end its twice as fast to drop and drag all my content into the story board. I'd also love more music selection specifically for podcast creators. Editing was very fair, nice, easy and fast as well and I was able to provide videos of high quality for my employer, who was very satisfied with the end result.
