Cons When uploading a video the resolution is mid quality. When I upload a video with look the quality is much better but that’s free. Pros Screencast-O-Matic is good Software, with whose use I was able to quickly record and edit some ( mainly ) short videos of encountered issues on Web Sites for one QA platform. Editing was very fair, nice, easy and fast as well and I was able to provide videos of high quality for my employer, who was very satisfied with the end result. I do hope that makers of this Software will continue their good work and even further upgrade it with some new options ( for further editing for instance ). Cons At the moment i do not have any negative thoughts about this product, as it was very good for my daily use and has provided me with the best result imaginable in that area of work. October 13, 2020 5.0 I have used many tools from simple to complex and this tool has all I need, when I need it. Pros Screencast-O-Matic has been a welcome addition to my weekly online learning tools. It can be used for giving anyone a direct link to video directions you create to weekly lesson plan coverage. All videos can be edited from items ranging to adding music to blurring out unwanted images on the video. This comes in handy as a staff leader for creating "How-to" videos for our staff. It also is easily integrated with most learning management systems like Schoology and Google classroom for example. Cons There are many tools to choose from when editing, which can take a bit to use, but most are not needed, but can be useful when needed. Screencast-O-Matic makes it easy to create a quick high quality video with transitions, effects, text, easily edit in and take out content... it's just great. Pros It's easy, responsive, and just awesome. I use it nearly every day to record edit and then easily share/post up to my YouTube channel to then distribute to customers and colleagues quality videos. Pros I did love the ease of ScreenPal to do recordings, but it so often freezes and I can't even exit it from my computer. Several times I have uninstalled and reinstalled, but it is just a pain to have to continue to deal with this issue. Cons Doesn't want to function on a regular basis. I want a reliable service that I can count on. Pros I liked actually being able to use it when I was able to. These days, the software will not install. And when it finally does, it freezes and will not work. If they are having problems, it should be announced on their website. Pros The intuitive and minimal interface is very good for creating good quality screen recordings with it. It also offers royalty free music and stock images and videos to juice up your productions. Cons The editing capabilities are limited. A multi track or multilayer editor will be much helpful. The overall experience seems to deteriorate with time. Pros It links well with YouTube and downloads nicely to my desktop Cons About a year ago the program refused to use my camera and would freeze if I tried. I had to hard quit the program to get out of it. Recently it started to quit/freeze when I tried to truncate and begin to record a new section of a production rendering the software pretty useless. December 6, 2023 5.0 I have been delighted with ScreenPal because it's easy to learn, it's a proven platform that is very reliable, and it's very affordable to other video hosting/editing tools on the market. I am glad we subscribed to ScreenPal. Pros Screenpal has proven to be an invaluable tool for our business, and once you get used to the controls it is super-easy to upload, edit and organize video tutorials in channels. Cons Having to upload videos one by one, and not having a bulk upload feature, requires a lot of downtime as videos are uploaded, processed, then added to the proper channel. No customer support Pros Good software but the backend management is a big letdown, I am writing this to warn others who fall for this product based on a good previous track record! Cons I lost all the files I recorded and after the re-branding still, nothing has been fixed.I am also being asked to upgrade to the paid version, and I am a paid version holder. Total mess, I would stay away from their ad the new owners, and whoever bought them up making a mess of it. Reason for choosing ScreenPal It was a recommendation but i guess before the re branding, it was a good software.I am writing this to warn others who fall for this product based on a good previous track record! I've made hundreds and hundreds of videos. I like the tools and the flexibility. I always get 2 thumbs up from my collegues and from end users! Pros ScreenPal does what it is advertised to do. It is easy to learn, the settings are intuitive, and there are tons of help resources built in. Cons At this time there are no cons. The old version would sometimes be clunky but they've fixed it. With the subscription you get a repository where you can host your videos and share them easily and quickly.
